Ever Been Spooked (Directly or Indirectly) By Your Doll?

Mar 1, 2007

    1. I could never be spooked by Cherry, but she did do something unusual back in the day when I was able to take her to work with me and sit her on my desk. I was having a particularly rough day and when it was quiet, I reposed her on her little chair. When I looked at her again a few minutes later, her head had actually moved by itself so that she was looking at me. I repositioned her looking down (she was supposed to be reading a book) and ten minutes later...she had raised her head and she was looking at me again. After that I stopped trying to force her to read and let her do what she wanted.

Think what you will. True story.

    2. I've been spooked by my Doll the first time.
She got these yellow-golden eyes which may me think she looks direktly into my fears. The first night she sits next to me bed and i got a nightmare ...
since that day she had a place an other place - but i learn to love her eyes. slowly.

    3. Mine has never scared me, but my friends' have. I like to play with her "fighter" doll and when ever I'm holding him I feel like his counter part is staring at me I have to put him down......Then this other time we were joking about how my doll was the father of one of her dolls and I looked up and said doll was staring at me...

It's the eyes...Eyes freak me out a little.

    4. Lol, once. I have positioned my Glacian's eyes like he is doing a sideway, very intent gaze. I was eating snacks on my bed, and he kind of creaked and when I looked at him, his face is like really annoyed because I'm not asking him to eat with me. Maybe its the position of the eyeballs and he's tightly strung. Lol.

    5. While my girlfriend had left her doll (Bobobie/RS Mei) in my care, I often leave it perched on top of my TV or bookshelf upstairs with some string that holds her safely. I positioned her with one hand on the bookshelf, her other hand in her lap, and her head looking up at the ceiling (like she was daydreaming).

I had a trying day and plopped down and cried on my couch. Loudly. I had a feeling that someone was watching me so I looked up at the doll and found her arms were outstretched and she was looking down at me.

It spooked me at first but then I realized she wanted to hug me and make me feel better since my girlfriend wasn't there to handle it.

    6. I've personally have never been spooked by any of my dolls but my doggies sure have!

I was trying on some shoes on my new boy to see if he could stand in them. I don't know what I needed to get up and get but I left the room with my new boy standing there lounging.

All of the sudden, I hear one of my dogs screech and start barking! Apparently dog #1 forgot my usually vacant room was off limits and waltzed in only to find a mini person there. So much for big German Shepherd Guard Dog...:| It took dog #1 two days to be OK walking into my room...what a wimp!

    7. I'm the type who gets SCARED easily. Like always I and my doll sleep together (not as lovers though! But in his ''pillow'' next to me on his back facing the ceiling. At night, I heard something similar as moving joints, so I turned the lights on and saw my Shin had changed his arm positions EEEEP Though, he was strung too tightly, that might tell me why he changed positions.

    8. I had to take my Kiddo to A-Kon with a broken finger last year because his new hands hadn't arrived. While walking to the convention center the glue came loose and the finger skittered down my chest and into my cleavage. When I pulled it out I thought it was a worm or something. I'd only owned him for about a month and "oh, doll finger" just didn't cross my mind, so I nearly had a heart attack.

Hubby is quite freaked out by dolls, which is why it's fun to put them in his side of the bed holding miniature ice tongs and switchblades.

    9. XD not my dolls specifically, and I'm not sure if this quite counts, but some of my room mates dolls are scary. not really in a horror sense of the term, or even an eerie sense of the term, but their characters are scary mofo's and they have the expressions to mirror their character. like Ivan, who I like to play with occasionally, who feels like he's gonna sneak in my room at night and slit my throat if I so much as do his tie wrong (which is why I make it a point to remove the gun from his hand XD)

in these cases, it's more that she makes them embody their character so well that even others can feel it, which tends to make one scary russian crime boss XD

    10. My Marc doesn't really scare me, but I do find at times his gaze is very striking and 'lifelike'. I love him a great deal, (as a favorite toy/object) It sort of makes me proud that I finally got him together the way I wanted him.

A lot of times, no matter how I placed him, or where he is sitting....he ends up looking at me. lol But I figure that is because I am his 'mommy'. All kids look to their moms...even resin ones. XD

    11. oh my gosh! i would have been scared to death! crazy penguin xD

    12. Nope! I think I'm just too...practical-minded to be spooked by dolls. I have no belief in anything supernatural, so dolls moving, etc., isn't 'creepy' to me because there's always a logical explanation. However, my best friend is absolutely petrified of my dolls (yes, even the Pukipuki). All they have to do to creep HER out is be out of their boxes! I have to hide them when she comes over. It's kind of amusing, honestly. :mwahaha
      That is hilarious.

    13. Time to change the batteries!

    14. I never really got spooked by my doll but me and my sister both can swear to you that she moves. Turns her head, looks at you, even sometime looks like she smiles more. Sounds like a loony bins crazed story but I'll tell you it scares the hell out of my sister. I find it funny as ever though.

    15. I didn't get so much spooked as I was shocked. XD Deidara has to share my room with Souji who, atm is just a plush. Always, strange things always happen with them and with the characters' personalities, they probably wouldn't "get along". One night I thought it was cute when Souji was just laying my bed and I moved Deidara over to make it seem like he was petting him on the head. They stayed like that until I tried to snap a picture when suddenly Deidara's arm snaps up, knocks Souji upside the head and sends him flying off the bed. I always knew Deidara was punchy but he hasn't had an incident since I loosened his arms and put Kips in his joints until then. Actually, because of where his fingers were, it looked more like Deidara tried to rip Souji's ear off. ;_; Souji is coming home as a BJD soon and I'd better not return home to one of them destroyed. xD

    16. I had one a few weeks ago. The electricity suddenly went off at 11:00 PM while I was alone in my home office. I didn't have a flashlight or lantern in the room, so I used my ipod as a light. I always get scared when the power goes off, but when I shined the weak light from the ipod on my doll cabinet, I imagined that their eyes lit up and were watching me. They all looked evil at that moment, especially my doll with no pupils. (Though, to be fair to the dolls, half of the things in my house looked creepy to me then, including curtains, pictures on the wall, and my bed...)

    17. Yeah, when I wasn't used to him yet, Iris would scare me because he turns his head by himself. He still does it. I kind of am afraid of restringing him because I don't want him to stop doing it now! XD

    18. What fantastic stories! Like dolly ghost tales.

    19. My roommate is terrified of dolls and clowns so I try to keep mine confined to my room. I'd just bought my Littlefee Ante, though, and I was so hyped about it when she came that he gave in and let me show her off to him. I was describing how posable she was and so on when (because she was unsueded), her head suddenly jerked around to look right at him. I'm glad he wasn't at the stage to hold her yet because my poor Catkin would have gotten thrown across the room.

I'm just glad he didn't have to witness that time her faceplate dropped off in my hand.

    20. I don't have a bjd and have never seen one in person so I don't know if they would creep me out or not xD But my grandma has porcelain dolls everwhere and when I was little she would put me in a room where some of them would stand on a shelf and I wouldn't sleep the whole night lol
