Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Ever Been Spooked (Directly or Indirectly) By Your Doll?

Mar 1, 2007

    1. No.

if i was scared of dolls i wouldn't collect them.

    2. Well it didnt really scare me, but it did make me do a double take. I tend to get up and wander when I have restless nights, and Iv been having them alot lately. So last night I had gotten up and wandered around my appartment, and went in and out of the living room. When I turned back to turn the light off I glanced at my dolls. My newest boy, Soren sits on the table I used for my laptop, and I glanced at him, I could have sworn he blinked, twice. I kind of stared a moment then shook my head.. I chalk it up to being tired.. But I still could swear that he blinked.

    3. Aside from my Lucian and Lennox nearly--or in Lucy's case, actually--falling off and breaking something? Yes, they have scared me. I'm odd, though. One time, I watched a creepy movie involving dolls (forgot what it was called) and instead of getting scared, I hauled my BJD to my bedside so he could keep me company. XD

    4. :XD: I haven't been scared by my dolls, but my fiance sure got it last week. I had gone to visit my parents in the morning, so I took my little Minifee along. Later that day though, my fiance came home early, and he called and asked that I come over to see him. Since I had my boy and knew my fiance didn't like them, I sat him on a table next to my purse in the living room before I went into the next room. Later on, we decided to go out, and he went to get his shoes, before he suddenly stumbled back, wild-eyed and clutching his chest. He said all he saw was a tiny person, sitting on the table and staring at him.
Oops, should've told him I brought my dolly. :XD:

    5. I had fun reading the comments from this thread :D
Although I haven't experienced being creeped out by my dollies, I am scared of clown and porcelain dolls. I dunno why, since I was a child I just hate them. Maybe because of some killer doll/clown movies I've watched.

    6. Turned around and one of my doll's eyes had fallen out XD
      Freaked me out majorly haha

    7. Never! If so, then why be a collector?

    8. Katgummylvr , leitan : I don't think that was the point of this thread. xD No one was asking if you were *scared* of your dolls. You can be spooked by your phone if it was very quiet in the house and it suddenly goes off, for example. And as far as I know, no one is afraid of phones.

    9. The only scared I've gotten is when Liona decides "Nopenope not sitting on this ledge anymore" and suddenly slides backwards and pushes the speaker behind her off the desk. Though the current 'blank' stare she has is sort of creepy. -shrugs-

    10. I've been keeping BJDs for five years now, and none of them have spooked me until recently...
(which is odd, since basically all other dolls freak me out. I didn't have any growing up)

Firstly, when my Ryu came home and was totally blank, waiting for his faceup, I had to keep him under the bed wrapped in a blanet, because he reminded me of a mannequin. Poor guy. xD

But recently I got some smaller, more realistic eyes for my Zachurai, my Jina boy, and ever since, he's been freaking me out to hell! It always looks like he's staring at me, and has an extremely malevolent expression...Even if I turn his head away, I always find him looking at the corner of his eye...

...that's it, I'm changing the eyes right now. *_*

    11. was home alone one night just sewing up a few pieces for my doll when our patio door FLUNG open which made my heart go racing (since i know i closed it completely!!) and that scared the fur off my cat (not literally lol) and she went running off which caught my eye so i watched her go off and out of the corner of my eye, my souldoll vito had the most mischievous look on his face. creepy little ... <3 love my little demon boy x3 <3 but gosh my heart was racing!

    12. Well, something happened back when Florian had ResinSouls grey, goopy, nasty eye putty in his head...
I'd been messing with his eyes for some pictures, had them looking to the right..
Aaaand the next morning they were facing dead center again.
It was just that eye putty having no hold at all, but still a bit creepy.

    13. Lol I think the only doll I've ever feared was Chucky, when I was 4 years old, and saw the movie. I was terrified he'd kill me in my sleep. xD
I have walked in and been caught off guard when my fiance has moved one of my dolls, and they're not in their normal places. Lol I'm kind of particular about it.

    14. Another one I noticed: I get spoked indirectly sometimes by my SD boy Eph. Sometimes I place him in my room on a desk or a shelf. After some time I just forget about him being there. When I look up next I often get shooked that someone is there... The weird thing is: this does not happen with my other SD boy, while I put him on my desk or shelf too. Even when I forget about him it's just like: "Oh yes. There was something. kay...."

    15. Not yet, but I have a feeling I will get scared soon. I'm hoping to bring a second doll home, a Pipos Cheshire. Their creepy faces really drew me in, but I know that might just be a bad thing when I walk into my room and happen to quickly glance over. I'm a very skittish person.

    16. If Lain's face wasn't so pretty I would probably get spooked every once and awhile, that's happily not the case, though. ^-^ Although depending on the angle I photograph her at, her eyes catch the light in a way that makes them glow an eerie pinkish red. Which I find more awesome than creepy.

    17. Once I left one of my dolls standing on the coffee table when I fell asleep on the couch. When I woke up, I thought my doll was a person standing over me, so it scared me since no one else should have been home. :o But that was only because I wasn't fully awake, otherwise my dolls never scare me. :)

    18. I've never had a sudden jolt of fear per se, but there was one time that I left the door open to my closet where I keep my dolls, and it just seemed like one of my girls was looking at me as I did some stuff in the kitchen (I have a really small apartment, so I can see into the closet from the kitchen lol). I was leaving the closet open to let it air out a little, but I decided to close it after getting that feeling.

    19. I have a lil display above my bed where I put my Pukifee. One night, she came tumbling off the display and clocked me in the head. When I picked her up, her eyes had rolled back in her head. Scared the life out of me. *_* I had no clue what I thought had happened, all I know is that I still felt my heart in my throat. I'm just glad she didn't get damaged.:sweat

    20. I had two of my dolls in my room and I left them sitting down, posed as if they were talking to each other...I left to go out for errands, when I came back into my room for some reason I totally forgot that I owned BJDs and I saw these two miniature people talking to each other and I flipped out then realized they were my dolls >.>

funny thing is that when my sister came in a few minutes after that they scared her too >.>
