Ever Been Spooked (Directly or Indirectly) By Your Doll?

Mar 1, 2007

    1. I used to be terrified by the old style porcelain dolls until I bought one a few years ago. She still creeps me out a little so I always apologise to her if I say something I think she wouldn't like haha! My family think all dolls are freaky though and I am guilty of leaving the porcelain one around the house just to make them jump. They don't mind my DC Bella so much though, they just think she's strange looking.

    2. While visiting my best friend out of state, we were watching Paranormal Activity on her couch with her dolls. She got up to go to the kitchen without meknowingit, and when I turned around to say something to her, she was gone, but her 70cm giant doll was there, standing, staring at me...yeeeah.

    3. ... Wasn't he also sitting down when you last looked at him? XD
Cause I remember you saying that when I came back.

Aaaaas for me, at one point I changed Florians eyes, to have them looking to the side... went to bed.
They were facing straight forward in the morning. :...(

I think, and knooow, it was just bad eye putty, but... Guh.

    4. I've never been the type to be spooked out by dolls/clowns/etc so no. i think my dolls look too pretty and adorable to ever look scary and spook me out.plus im kinda a horror movie buff so its a lil hard for me to be spooked i guess :/

    5. One of dolls (my Bobobie apollo) is loosely strung, and one day I was posing for my art homework in a chair. I had put his hand up in his hair. I turned to get my camera off the table his hand came down, and hit my back. It made me jump:shudder.

    6. Weirdly enough, i've always loved dolls, I had a vast porcelain doll collection as a small child, and then I ended up with Barbies, cupcake dolls, and, my all time favourite, 'Whats-her-face' dolls. When I first saw a bjd I loved it and I have never been freaked out by a doll before christmas. I adore my cousin and when she fell for my girl doll Nancy I decided to buy her something of her own. Eventually I found what I thought would be perfect, a Dika doll Bonnie with several outfits, a wig, and a beautiful face up all for a reasonable price in the second hand market and I snatched her up for my cuz. When she arrived I unwrapped her all to make sure that there were no problems and, even though she didnt have any eyes I thought she was awfully sweet and kind of cheeky. I stold some brown eyes from my boy and gave them to the Bonnie and thought no more about it.

On Christmas day my cousin came down from uni and ended up staying with us, I was thrilled and gave her the Bonnie, whom she adored. But I noticed that the Bonnie seemed really weird, one moment it looked like she was smiling and the next frowning and I chalked it up to a trick of the light and ignored it,even thugh it seemed kinda creepy. The more time my cousin spent handling her over the next few days the more creeped out I became by her, her eyes always seemed terrifying and demonic and she always looked like she was about to hurt me, but then at the same time still so innocent. It got to the point where I didnt like it if her head was angled towards me. My cousin, who is sort of cute but creepy (cupeey) herself, thought that this was fantastic and kept tormenting me with her whilst I wielded my much larger doll, Salem to protect myself with. I'm really pleased that she loves her girl and it's so nice to see pictures shes taken and such but my god doesthat doll weird me out. the oddest thing is that I have no clue why, theres nothing in particularthat I can pinpoint and i've never had issues with any kind of doll before in my life!

    7. Mine recently spooked me. I was combing my hair in the mirror and looked in it to see that my doll looked as if it was staring me down in the mirror. I was freaked out. It also doesn't help that I've been watching Creepypasta videos and learning about the famous Robert the doll. I hope it passes. I'd hate to be terrifed of my own doll. He so cute at times, other times, he looks sort of scary to me. ;w;

    8. huuh. I'm one of those people who don't care about dummies/clowns/porclein but can understand the scare appeal. I think I'll only be scared if I ever mistake my doll for an actual human silhouette out of the corner of my eye, like I do with closets?? sometimes.

    9. This isn't creepy, but one morning I went to get my doll and found she had a
      chocolate stain on her t-shirt !! !
      I don't eat near them

    10. I'm scared that my doll is going to stain because his face-up was like "lolno" and I can't go and get acetone free nail polish to fix it until tomorrow D:
      This is true fear DX

    11. My dolls never really scared me. I have them standing directly infront of my bed at night, and they'd be staring right at me. My friends all find this creepy, but I never had a problem with it.

    12. When I got my first doll, he spooked me for the first few nights. His red eyes I got him kept followng me in my room. Since he's a 1/3 (which is big to me being my first doll) I always felt an extra presence in my room :shudder.

The only reason I was so spooked is because I was just was not used to having such a thing in my room haha. I'm no longer spooked of him or my other ones. I've grown quite fond of them :).

    13. Oh gosh this made me laugh, I can just imagine your hair standing on end when you heard that penguin speak mine would have too. But dolls don't scare me at all, I have a large collection of Antique dolls and yes some people have remarked that they don't like the eyes or the teeth etc. I am easily freaked out by spiders or scary movies though

    14. HAhaha no, they never spooke me! But I have had weird dreams thou, that they were talking to me and warning me about things.

    15. I successfully got my first doll to stand without anyone helping me at a doll meet today. I mentally cheered that she was standing on her own, held up my phone to take a picture, and realized that she was perfectly balanced standing upright... bent over so far backwards it looked like she was about to collapse! That was mildly panic inducing!

    16. Not super freaky....but the my five Kara Klums sit on a shelf by themselves and one other doll. Recently I've been putting my Narsha boy on the shelf with them, kind of sitting in front. The other day I put the Narsha away on the shelf and went to bed. The next day I went to get one of the Kara's off the shelf (the first one, with jointed hands) and found him leaning forward with one hand buried in the Narsha's hair so that the hair was sticking up in all directions. Weird, and a little creepy since I didn't remember that from the night before, but whatever. I picked up the Kara Klum and brought him in the other room, sat him on a table to do....something....I don't remember what, was about to tell my roommate that he'd been grabbing hair and noticed he had a small chunk of my Narsha's wig clenched in his fist D:

Another time I was a little spooked was when I went into my room and found about half of them pointing at me. No one else goes in my room. Ever. I had to put all their arms down before I could sleep.

    17. My dolls have never scared me, although when I was a kid I was a bit creeped out by this "Granny" doll my mother had. I do have lots of dreams about my dolls, but not scary ones, more like slice-of-life scenes where they're people and I live with them.

    18. My doll did this to me recently not her fault... I blame her new eyes which are really actually really pretty and sparkly...But in the dark they almost glow...well I wasn't really paying attention that they caught so much light in the dark and stuff like that... so in the morning I woke up and sleepily got ready for school in the mostly dark room when I looked over and my doll Penrynn was staring straight at me and her eyes are glowing in the dark room... and did I mention she's a vampire? Talk about creepy...

    19. i haven't gotten any spooks from my dolls yet, which is weird cause my mind likes to play tricks on me, and doll chateau does have the creep factor(as adorable as she is) but my pukipuki likes to swan dive off high places, so i get enough scares from that.

    20. my little dollzone leo unnerved me just now o.o I was bored so i was playing with Fell and noticed his eyes seemed off. Looking at them i got this weird feeling that he was maybe blind...or just not seeing in this "realm". It was like he was focusing on something else o.O and no matter how I turned his head to look he just didn't seem to be focusing on me. And he really gives off a feeling of looking not only at something else, but something i can't see o.o It kinda creeped me out a little XD But eh...if he's keeping an eye on things then he can stay creepy XDDD
