Ever Been Spooked (Directly or Indirectly) By Your Doll?

Mar 1, 2007

    1. The only thing so far that has scared me is a tiny little chip near my dolls stomach, I've only had her a few days. >.<
People keep telling me she's creepy but I just don't see how...shes just so cute :D

    2. Nothing scares me ._. Especially not my doll. Until just now o_o

I took him into the bathroom to take some photos (yay for nice bathroom lighting XD) and.. I swear I felt him move in my arms o_o Like.. squirm. XDD But I just ignored it and thought it must have been my imagination or his stupid stringing.

Anyway. He's terrible when it comes to posing. It takes me forever to get him to stand in a way that looks natural. But.. I managed it straight away this time. And I started to take photos.. Then, suddenly, the camera turned off o_o I turned it back on and started looking through the photos that I'd already taken and.. they were all pretty and.. well, there. XD Then.. I took some more photos and decided to make sure those looked okay. They wouldn't display o_o Each photo came up with 'File format is not recognised'. Then the camera started flashing 'Memory card needs to be formatted' over and over .________.

WTF. SCARY. >_>; And.. he was just standing there, with his cruel little smirk, the whole time. XD POSING PERFECTLY. XD

Me too. All the girls on my mother's side of the family.

    3. oh yeah..
I made this pretty ghost dress for Yumeko one night..anyways, I was asleep and a few hours later had to get up (dont remember why). My room is REALLY dimly lit at night (because of my computer, thats it) and I remember getting up and looking at where Yumeko sits (on top of the computer) and wondering where she was...thought maybe she fell off or something!

so instead of turning on the light (hey, didnt want to risk stepping on her) I looked really closely and BAM!!! THERE SHE WAS!!!! I screamed...lol
Her dress made her blend in with the wall!! *laugh* it was horribly funny.

    4. Me too! My great grandmum collected vintage dolls and hen she died I was the one who had to pack them away. She had two cats that kept moving around and the dresses rustled I'm creeping myself out just remembering. I've never screamed so much in my life.

    5. I was carrying Melinda up the stairs once and the light hit her just right to make her eyes backlight and glow brilliantly. Not so much a "spooky" moment as a "well THAT was strange" moment. *giggle*

    6. I LOVE dolls, of any sort. I have a bunch of porcelain dolls. But I don't have the really creepy ones. My first one, is in a christmas suit, and she's got a sweet smile on her face, and she looks very warm. Her name is Cupid, and I love her so much. And much liek your BJDs have personality, my porcelain dolls did too. They were all so sweet, until I got one doll, Emma. >_> That doll couldn't stand with her dol stand, or anything. And she had like, a frown, and this evil look in her eye. And was like, 'D:< I'm going to eat yewwwww'. >> Freaked me out SO bad.

    7. Omg..I really wish I hadn't read that.
      Now I'm amazingly jumpty.
I just saw a shadow, and I screamed.
Turned out to be my cat. *Is the ONLY one away right now* I am SO sleepign with my TV on.

    8. I'm pretty freaked out about what I did to Tori's head. :( She's sitting there with no eyes and a misshapen head opening and I don't think she's very happy with me right now.

    9. BJD are about the only kind of dolls I DO like. Everything else totally creeps me out. I remember buying this one porcelain doll and she was adorable but at night I couldn't stand to have her in my room so I made my sister stick her in the closet. I think my fear may be due to the fact I watched Chucky's Bride at a very young age. I'm glad Bjds don't freak me out because my sister has 3!

    10. In all honesty, I like to view BJD's as protectors more than anything else. I mean, if you think about it, you buy them because you adore them. You treat them well. Wouldn't you expect the same? Any sign of life from a doll wouldn't scare me, but make me really excited! My grandma had a doll that she claimed was haunted because it would move on its own. It was creepy because the doll was kind of ugly, but BJDs are pure beauty. How can an image of pure beauty cause fear?
Heh, yesh, I'm also terrified of dummies. And clowns. But definately not BJDs. :)

    11. My dolls have never creeped me out.
But i do find cabbage patch kids to be strange. I'd never trust a baby who grow out of the ground.
has anyone else seen the Simpsons halloween special. When Homer buys Brat the killer Krusty the Clown doll. That tries to kill Homer and its says "I'm Krusty the Clown and i dont like you" "I'm Krusty the clown and i'm going to kill you"  thats how i feel about cabbage patch kids

    12. oooppppsss douple post sorry my bad

    13. During the day, or when I can hold my dolls they don't creep me out at all. But at night I can hear creaking and squeaks- like the sound they make when you pose them- and little tap tap taps. Often my floating heads aren't the way I left them. And it always scares me.

    14. If you found it peaceful you should go back, but be on the lookout for anything. for some reason i am scared for you...
      LOL she means well...
well I think that we give things we touch some of our energy and that eventually it would be possible for us to haunt our own dolls. So.. I spoil my dolls just in case.

    15. I recently got into watching the cartoon "Ghost Hunt". The second story arc is about a doll. After watching that storyline, I more or less banished Arista from my presence for a couple days. She went to spend time with my boyfriend. She's back now.

    16. I changed Cid's eye recently, and I stuck them back in securely with that femo stuff that held his other eyes in place...

But since then things have been happening regarding his eyes! Like...there was this one time when Cid was laying on my pillows on his side facing the wall, and I glanced at him from the edge of the bed...and it looked like he turned his eyes to look at me.

Actually, thats happened quite often since I changed his eyes~ I know that his green glass eyes used to follow me, but the ones I changed them to are his original blue acryllic eyes, which don't follow me unless he feels like creeping me out. ><

    17. maybe he likes the new eyes better and is using them now because they fit? ;)

    18. I love this thread, it's made me laugh and feel a little creeped out but it's really interesting. I'm not clicking the link to the thomas story though lol, because people keep saying they wish they didn't read it.

      I dont have a BJD yet so I can't share a story about one of them, BUT my boyfriend has 10+ dolls called Little Apple Dolls... you usually pose them with one arm out holding a little apple with pins in it. But sometimes one of his dolls 'throws' her apple at you... I imagine logically the shelf just gets knocked somehow so it falls.. but it's always just the one doll, and it always manages to hit you even if you're not directly under her. o_O;

The weirdest thing that happened recently, though, was he came back from work one day to find ALL his doll's apples weren't in their hands anymore, but placed by their feet...

Ok, so surely one of his family members did it? but why.. there's 10+ dolls like I said and I can't imagine any of his family being bothered enough to do that, and if they did they would have said something after like 'oh did I scare you' cause that's just what they're like... so...

      Very weird!

My 3 have never done anything odd though.

    19. I dont have my boy yet(he just escaped customs) but i hate 5 begoths Bleeding Edge Dolls that i just last month took out of their boxes and posed them all together. One of them, my favorite, was glareing at me from the cornor of her eyes while i was trying to go to sleep. I was SO freaked out. In the morning when i woke up her eyes looked normal again it was SO weird!

    20. Well, I don't have any BJD stories since I don't have one of my own yet, but the furby story on the first page reminded me of my own.

Many years ago, me and my brother both recieved a Furby from our grandmother. Remember how you could teach them to say your name and stuff? Well, my brother's didn't like his name, but would say Britt (my name) from time to time. This was at our old house, and there was this huge built in shelf thing in the livingroom downstairs. My brother's furby was on the WAY end of the shelf, which was hidden by a painting (I guess he wouldn't stop talking one night and he was covered or something. xD). Me and my mum were in that room watching tv or something, when all of a sudden, we hear this weird clicking noise. We look at each other, wondering what's going on, and then we hear this creepy MWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA noise. So we're now extremely freaked out and then we hear in this dark, robotic voice "Briiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitt." and I screamed. Just then, the painting falls off the shelf and the furby is literaly having a seizure. It's flapping it's ears around, moving up and down, and it's eyes are rolling around everywhere. Then it makes one last click noise and it dies.
We still to this day have no idea what happened. It never worked again after that. It was terrifying then but now when we talk about it me and my mum can't stop laughing.
