1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever feel the need to "adopt" dolls for sale in the marketplace?

Apr 10, 2006

    1. Oh boy... would I LOVE to be in the financial situation to do that... and adopting them off the marketplace makes even more sense since you're helping both the person who is trying to rehome a doll as well as the one that needs to receive one... But alas, this will have to remain a dream unless I miraculously win some sort of lottery.

    2. Once I get marketplace access, I'd really love to rescue broken/damaged dolls and give them new life. I think there's a special sort of art in revitalizing something that's been broken and making it new and beautiful again. I can't wait to try it for myself!

    3. I constantly check the Marketplace for dolls - I do have a criteria/wishlist/plan so what I'm checking on is dolls that fit in w/that plan. I've gotten quite a few of my wishlist/planned family dolls from the MP. I just don't care if the doll is 'new' or '2nd hand' as long as I'm getting the certifications etc. I actually like 'rescuing' these dolls if possible. And of course they are a bit cheaper usually, often the shipping is less (odds are its NOT coming from, say, Seoul...), they come quicker & w/extras. Then there are the dolls that I couldn't otherwise GET (ie limited ones or out of stock sculpts).
So the rescue instinct is not the primary one when I browse the MP.

    4. I actually did this a couple of times.

    5. Everytime :( I really have the urge to buy or adopt them but at the same time I can't//won't do because I might be irresponsible and I might be dishonest which will result in a ban
