Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Ever loved a doll but COULDN'T bring yourself to own it?

Jan 26, 2012

    1. I have a lot of dolls I can't get X D
Some of them were just limited, so no chance to get them anymore.
But the most are just to expensive for me at the moment and also my new problem is, I have no space for more dolls o_o I know that they wouldn't get enough attention, because I can't handle with more then I already have at the moment :/

    2. I am deeply in love with the Zaoll Luv. I don't think I would ever get one, but I think they are gorgeous. What bothers me about them is their "inbetween" size. A friend of mine had a Muse, and had trouble finding clothes to fit her. Maybe if I become a better seamstress I'd get one, but for now, the Luv is on my unattainable list :/

Another is the Dollmore Model Doll Ha-Yarn Cho. I absolutely adore this sculpt and have seen it in person so many times. I love it, but for some reason I can't bring myself to buy it. It isn't the size, I've considered and am planning on getting larger dolls. I think it might be because the sculpt is so beautiful to me, I feel like whatever customization I do will not do it justice.

I love the Volks SD16 Kira and was tempted to get one, but didn't. Once again, I think the sculpt is magnificent, but after seeing the doll in real life (so stunning), I don't know if I could own one. I think it is the same issue with the doll above. I don't think I could do the sculpt justice.

    3. I am in LOVE with Soom Mech angel Deneb. I love everything about her. But she is HUGE!!! When I got my first SD girl, she was so big! the Mech angels are like... 90cm. They are almost a full metre tall. that is TOO much doll for me. :(

    4. There are quite a few dolls I'd love to own but won't. I just don't feel that I 'need' them.

    5. Any fantasy doll or interesting body shape. They're sooo gorgeous, but...well I don't know. Just doesn't fit my style. But they could! But they won't. I just can't even.

    6. a soom Rosette girl :fangirl:, they are so pretty and I envies everyone who has one :aheartbea But she would never fit into my collection I'm afraid of :'(

    7. Yes- Volks Jun. she is so cute, but I don't have a place for her... So yea

    8. I love DZ Byron, but I don't think I could ever buy him for myself unless he came secondhand sometime. There is something about his sculpt that makes me love him, but not want to spend the money on him.

    9. YES! I love Soom Idealian Branon's face, but I wouldn't know what to do with him. And so I'm admiring him from afar.

    10. Yes, its Souldoll's Hewer. He is so gorgeous! He's just too expensive for me :( I don't want to spend that kind of money on a doll.

    11. YES! :...( DollZone Virgil 65cm Boy Limited Fullset! I had some money some time ago when I saw it had been release...but I didn't have enough guts to buy him and make him my own.

    12. Yup, Iple Luo. Just can't go there. Love him but the $$$ are just too big for me.

    13. I find I feel like this with many boy dolls. I love their sculpts and I have a boy character in mind, though I just have so fun dressing and styling girly dolls

    14. It struck me when the vampire version of her came out just how much Iplehouse's Bianca looks like a friend of mine (said friend does a lot of costume-y stuff, so I've seen her with various hair looks, with colored contacts, in vampire stuff and character cosplays-- I just never realized she literally looked like a specific BJD until one of the Bianca photos)... Now, I think the doll is absolutely gorgeous, but I would feel so weird owning her because I just know I'd keep calling her my friend's name even just by accident... and I worry that would cross the line into 'creepy'!

    15. Yes, Angelsdoll Cian Cat Avatar is it for me. I'm very fascinated with him but I'd never want to own him. ^_^

    16. Definitely an Angel Egg doll by Marmite Sue. It's my grail doll, but I fear I will never be able to afford it (at least not for the foreseeable future). And even so, she would be a stand-alone in my collection simply because her proportions wouldn't match my other dolls.

    17. Hur hur so I was wrong... :B

But I have another one I really won't ever own...Crobidoll Yeon-Ho. I have loved this doll 5 years ago when people were first bringing him home. I stalked owners, kept photos, thought seriously about getting one and what I'd do with him...and came up with nothing. I have no character for him at all and no reason to own one. I actually tried to get one once or twice...someone had a head up for sale or trade for a doll I was selling, but she didn't want to trade and I didn't try to get one again. A friend in the area bought one and I loved him just as much in person, but when I saw him irl I realized he had more than a passing resemblance to my first and favorite doll....which is probably why I like him so much XD

Too much resemblance and no character = I will never own him. But I still look at owner photos. <3

    18. Yes, Iple Luo. Adore him, but the price tag puts him off limits. One doll, almost a grand by the time I'm checked out? Nah. I just cannot rationalize that, cannot afford that, sorry.

    19. I'm very reluctant to buy dolls from overseas. I'd like to avoid as much trouble as possible.
As far as specific dolls, I fell in love with a Volks Lorina which is the only Volks doll I've ever felt I really wanted. Sadly though, for me it's probably the price. I'd only be able to get her second-hand, and from what I've heard of the second-hand market I have noticed a definite jump in price. So money is my problem.

    20. Yes and this may sound weird but any SOOM fantasy doll and LoongSoul fantasy dolls, it isn't just because they are expensive or that they are fantasy dolls because they would fit in with my story, it's just that I don't have any characters for them and in the case of LoongSoul it's the...detachable body part that kinda irks me. ._.
