1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Ever worry your dolls look uncomfortable?

Feb 7, 2017

    1. I don't mind while I'm working on a doll, then they are sort of "turned off" in my mind, if that makes sense? So a doll left in pieces or partially strung when I'm wokring on some of the parts is no problem, nor a is a naked doll next to the sewing machine when I'm making clothes for them.
I do have a display shelf, though and there I usually pose them nicely. I try to make it so that they seem to be talking to each other, or I give them a prop to focus on so they don't look bored. On the shelf all dolls are usually well dressed, but I don't always follow the season or weather in the real world.

    2. I definitely fret about sunlight and if they are safe from harm. And then there is concern over where will be his final display case. He's currently at the top of my wardrobe but I want a more elegant solution.

I'm not sure I have ever considered objects in the room to factor into my anxiousness though. However I will 100% remove clothing I don't feel is pleasing to touch like scratchy lace. I don't care how pretty it is.

    3. I definitely can’t leave a doll in an awkward pose. I wondered if it was just me but it seems to be a common trait among doll owners. I never had a Barbie when I was young, but I could never understand how others who did could leave them lying around naked all the time. I felt sorry for the dolls. The doll comfort issue even extends to Lego Minifigs, in my case. When I built the Lego Bagend Hobbit House, I had to include a bed for Bilbo with books and a reading lamp beside it. Similarly, when I built the Weasley’s Burrow, I had to add in a bunk bed for when Harry would stay over!
I think the average person might consider this way of thinking about and relating to inanimate objects rather strange. I think it’s just an aspect of creative whimsy!

    4. YES. My boys are standing with help of the doll stand that hold them between their boy part and butt. So I can see it clearly that it's very tight. :atremblin

*Pervert note: I kind of like it. I can see all the curve and shape that was details crafted there :drool

    5. I don't think about it too actively but if I notice that they look uncomfortable posed as they are in their room then I can't unsee it and must fix it.
The more natural/comfortable they look the nicer the display is for me to look at (and I don't have to worry about them falling over randomly/during earthquakes) so it's a plus all around.
