1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I rarely change my doll’s eyes once I’ve settled on a look. I much prefer the
urethane eyes. The Gumdrops and Dollbakery are my favorites. I’ve a
couple of EnchantedDoll eyes too. And still have a couple of the Masterpiece
soft glass eyes in a my EID men. I did use glass eyes back in the day, but
once I found Gumdrops - I pretty much went urethane.

    2. I don’t really have a preference for what material they’re made of. Some of my dolls have glass, others acrylic, and others polyurethane. I prefer the sparkly eyes with the gemstones and glitter in them. Oscar eyes in particular are so beautiful and magical.

    3. i don't have any fancy pretty urethane eyes (yet), but between glass and acrylic i much prefer glass! i like to swap them between dolls whenever the mood strikes. the one thing i dislike about glass eyes is the fact they tend to be too high domed for my tastes and are more difficult to position : - /

    4. Currently, I thought I would like resin eyes the most, tried acrylic... turns out I like glass with small iris the best! Havent tried urethane yet but I would love too~

    5. I used to prefer glass eyes, but it's so hard to find small iris glass eyes that I went to urethane eyes.
I whish to have one set per doll, but currently I have some dolls sharing eyes. I more in the realistic side, even if I've a few fantasy eyes (especially fantasy colors, but I will need some reptilian eyes in the future).

    6. I prefer glass eyes with the stems on them. It is a lot easier for me to handle with my arthritis.

    7. For me, it depends on the doll. With some of them there's not enough space for a full eyeball or stems, so flatbacks and flatback ovals work better. Also, low-dome all the way; a good side glance position just can't be done with high-domes. Too gappy, too stare-y.

Low-dome glass eyes are my favorites, but sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised when less-expensive acrylics fit and look good in some dolls. Low-dome silicones are a second-favorite. I'm not much into the fancy name brands that require preorders, or the elaborate fantasy types; even my elves and vampires wear fairly ordinary brands of eyes.

    8. Look I bought tianba eyes and I can’t go back…that’s all I’ll say hahaha

    9. All of my dolls have one pair of eyes only, excluding Faye, who has both her natural dark brown as well as a set in red to represent the cosmetic lenses she sometimes wears.

I've owned everything from cheap acrylics to tianba urethane, but even after all this time, I've yet to find anything that remotely compares to a good pair of silicone eyes. This is especially true when it comes to fit; gaps in the corners drive me insane, but the odd number sizes and ability to squish into place place silicone far above anything else that currently exist.

Masterpiece in particular is at the top of their game right now—excellent catchlights/organic glossiness, embedded veining, realistic irises in a vast array of colors, slight tracking, and even fully kitted out, still don't cost as much as resin eyes despite also being handmade.

    10. I prefer glass eyes. I've tried acrylic ones in the past, but I love the quality of glass eyes. Each of my dolls just have 1 pair each. I never change them out.
