1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Fairyland Chic Line clothing, shoe, and wig database - Useable vs. REALLY FITS

May 18, 2010

    1. dhawktx: Thanks!

    2. I picked up a misc bunch of "Perfect Patterns" for 15 - 16" fashion dolls. Will let you know which ones work best for the gals.

    3. I've been stalking this thread for the past two months, looking at all the wonderful things people find for these lovely dolls to wear. I've learned quite a bit! But even so, my mind still can't quite get a grasp on the size of these dolls, no matter how much I look at everyone's pictures, or how often I pull out my measuring tape, heh. I wish I could see one in person so I can get a better idea of their dimensions... Then I could make things for them while I wait. >_< Maybe buying a pair of shoes some people have suggested would help, haha.

Any word yet on patterns, dhawktx? ♥

    4. I got sidetracked? does that work as an excuse? I'm helping Admin a mini BJD con in Dallas June 10-13 at A-Kon. We were asked if we wanted to give it a go last November and it's been a wild ride! Add another personal money making project and some family drama to that and patterns had to take a back seat. I be revisiting them in July though!

    5. Maybe we could do a comparison photo for you, Junjoukaren. I have a couple already. Do you have any other MSD dolls or Sd, tiny, etc?
Here is Rou compared with Limho, Narin, Little Fee and a Pukipuki

Hope this helps. It's amazing how much difference a few cm's make in proportion. Honestly, I really love his little self, plus he's a heckuva poser.

    6. Goodness, you've got quite a bit on your plate! I hope everything goes well for you! I can just sit and lurk for a while longer, hehe. :)

Ohh~ I wish I could say it does help, but I unfortunately don't own any MSD-sized dolls (My girl is a 66cm SpiritDoll Jade). :( I also had this problem when I got her - somehow I over-estimated her size, and when she got home, the clothing I had sewn was much too big, lol. As much as I'd like to avoid that mistake, I'm afraid it may be something I'll just have to repeat again. XD

That being said, I thank you for the wonderful pictures! I really do appreciate your help, and I am very much in love with your Rou (I'm getting him, too ♥)!

    7. Have you also copied down the measurements table from FL?

      http://dollfairyland.com/infodesk/banner.php?number=60

If you measure the waist of the pattern (leaving off the seam allowances) by taking the total of the measurement of the waist of each pattern piece, you can check that against the table. Same with other measurements. This will help you get a better idea if something will fit or not, and what needs to be taken up or let out.

    8. I'll definitely give it a go. I'm really a beginner with sewing, and I've never really been great with patterns, to be honest. Amusing and irritating, seeing as how my mother is a professional seamstress, haha. I wish there were an easy way to just absorb all of her knowledge! But as much as I struggle, I try my best to figure things out without her help before going to her for advice (trying to make mama proud, lol!).

Anyway, back onto the topic of finding things that fit - Are there any other suggestions for male shoes? I like the 1/6th shoes (I don't have a problem with making my boy wear girl feet), but I wonder if anyone's found anything that fits *his* feet without being overly-huge?

    9. The Tonner 'Matt' boots are big-ish, but they're boots, so OK. It's regular shoes we can't find that will fit the boy feet, only the girls...

    10. Aww, bummer. I saw some nice male dress shoes on angelicdreamz.com that I found interesting, but I don't think anyone has tried them out yet.

    11. I used the Contact button at Angelic Dreamz and got the following response:

5/16/2011 7:25:55 PM They are made for JAMIEshow Male Dolls, their feet are 2 1/8" Long by 5/8" width at the front of the foot and 1/2" at the heel.

      Thank you

5/16/2011 5:16:56 PM What are the dimensions of the feet the shoes were designed for? Mostly interested in foot length.

And I am literally falling asleep on my chair, so I'll have to find out tomorrow if that fits the CLine boys...

    12. I had to go check. Shipping on one pair of Jamieshow shoes was $8.00 from AD. If you can find them on his ebay store, shipping is $5.00. That's the main reason I haven't ordered any of the boy things from Angelic. You don't get the free shipping or sale prices on any of the JS stuff, either. :(
That said, it looks to me as though they would fit the Chic boys fine.

    13. That's exciting! I'll definitely have to check that out once I get my boy! :D

    14. Ouch! that's more in shipping than I pay for some of my War Toys shoes...

    15. How much was shipping for your boots, dhawktx? I'm also wondering if it's possible to get a closer look at the workings of the foot and ankle? I'm trying to figure out if it's possible to make a substitute foot for my boy for 1/6th shoes. If not, that's fine, I can wait until he's here. :3

    16. It's possible, you just have to allow for a magnet and sculpt it properly, so that you can take it off and use his real feet when you want to. Would be easier to do if you had a girl foot to work from - for general size. You could also try getting a pair of action figure feet and use them to model your 'shoe feet'.

Shipping might be $5, but that's for four or five pairs of boots or shoes, as well as oddments like snowshoes, carry bags and such. War Toys has lots of closeout stuff and it's priced according to what they paid for it plus their markup, so you might find a pair of boots for $4.95 (3 available), and the same pair of boots for $9.95 (11 available) under a different character name. It's a treasure hunt!

You also have to be very careful what you order, because some of them are made of real leather, others are molded plastic. Look at enough pairs and you start to be able to see the differences pretty easily, but I still wind up having to click on the enlarged photo sometimes.

    17. dhawktx - I do rather like that you can use the girl feet on the guys and it does not look to weird. That certainly expands the shoe options. Off to look at shoes on war toys

    18. I'm also getting a girl, though she'll be BW instead of NS, so the feet won't match, haha. I was kinda thinking of making a mold of the girl's feet and casting a new pair in either Sculpey (if I do a hard cast) or plaster (if I use silicone). That way, I can either mix the color to match if I use clay, or paint it to match if I use plaster... cuz I know it'll drive me crazy if it's the wrong color, despite not seeing it most of the time. >_>

    19. Thanks for the sizing information. These clothes are really cute.

    20. Question, has anyone here had any clothes made for their boys? I need to find a semstress who can do both guy and girl clothes... Suggestions anyone?
