Fairyland Chic Line clothing, shoe, and wig database - Useable vs. REALLY FITS

May 18, 2010

    1. Like I said Cygirl has to be stretchy. My bf managed to get a bra and panties from one onto my girl (granted shes smallbust/cutie legs) and I've tried some pleather jackets on her too, which don't quite close but look alright.

The Playboy stuff is a little iffy but not that bad for what it is. The robe my Ineffa uses is from the Karen McDougal doll. The lining is not great and the snaps are cheap plastic but it looks good on display and is just a touch big on Ineffa which looks pretty luxe over the green Fairyland lingere. Haven't been able to try the bikini...cami...thing she's wearing yet, it should fit in theory but not sure if its removable (and its lost somewhere in the bf's closet/wormhole to another dimension)

    2. It would be great to see pictures of that.

The only piece of femfig clothing I could find is a Triad PVC catsuit. I will have a look, but I don't think there is a snowball's chance I am going to be able to get my Ino in that, stretch or no stretch. And arms and legs would be very short. It seems as though the options are there with femfig stuff, but limited.

This is on the large bust Ino. On the smaller bust, the vest fits perfectly; tiny bit loose in the waist, but there are so many parts (belts and fabric) that it is not noticeable. Shoes are a good fit. They were having a sale and I loved this sort of Steampunk design.

    4. Well finally got access to a computer for a few minutes so those long-promised pics are finally here.

Military figure gear (jacket has had sleeves shortened and a tuck in back, shorts don't close but are passable)
      http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d17/Ashthepirate/camera%20uploads/130_zpsac8285c0.jpg
Playboy robe (sorry for weird angle) fits well, original doll is a little shorter but the length is fine on a Chicline
      http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d17/Ashthepirate/camera%20uploads/138_zps04187071.jpg
Pleather stitched jacket (not sure who this came from but likely a Cygirl or similar) Does not close in front, but since it was a shortened sleeve on the original doll it looks like a fashionable 3/4 sleeve on Chicline. Fits fine in shoulders and length on torso is good.
      http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d17/Ashthepirate/camera%20uploads/157_zps67327926.jpg
Oh and her shoes and velvet bodysuit are from the Madame Alexander Alex doll. The pieces from that line fit well though the pantyhose are way too high waisted, odd since the bodysuit fits so well.

    5. Thanks for those pics. I am truly amazed. None of my femfigs clothes are even in the same postcode as my CLine. Intrigued, I just got my last CY body out and laid it next to my CLine. She reaches her waist. I think you struck very lucky there.

It did prompt me to try on my male action fig clothes on my Ino. They certainly fit better than they did on my Rou. Trousers and shirts go on OK, with a bit of heave ho over the hips, but sleeves and legs are still too short. Jeans look like capris. Ah well.

    6. Yeah the lengths are all odd on them, but the widths seem alright for some of it. I should add the military shirt was on a male, no clue where the shorts were from.

    7. Almost certainly from a male fig.

There is an action fig set that is coming out now that might fit the CLine boys as it is being shown on the wide TTM-20 body, the one whose trousers I could squeeze my Rou into. And it is a shorts and t-shirt combo, so the length won't matter.

For those in the States, Big Bad Toy Store has them,

      Black

      http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=CMT10018&mode=retail

For those not in the States, they are starting to come up on eBay. Search for "CMToys short".

You won't be able to use the shoes or hands, but I haven't seen these parted out (yet) so you might just have to find another home for those bits.

    8. I was able to mod 1:6 hands to work on my CL Rou, although I haven't cleaned/fixed up the mod yet (because I'm lazy!),
it could work very nicely if you don't intend to have him holding anything too heavy. The only problem is that they are a bit
undersized (in relation to the rest of his proportions). Although there are companies that have larger hands, the ones in that
set don't particularly look very large. I believe the mod would also work for the shoes but I am not sure it would be stable
enough for the doll to stand in them but it could be a nice accessory if you have him sitting down.

The shorts would probably be very short on Rou, so I might pass this one but I'm excited to finally see clothes made for the TTM-20!

    9. I would be interested to see that hand mod. Did you do it so that he could have different hand guestures? We never get gun holding hands for BJDs, do we?

You know you can put female CLine feet on a male CLine and thereby get action figure shoes on them? Trouble is, it makes his feet look disproportionately small, even with great big old Newlines, so doesn't work for me.

I will be getting the long set for my TTM-20 (who only has one over-stretched t shirt and a pair of T-800 trousers to keep him warm) so I will see if they can be rolled or taken up and used as shorts.

    10. I've found that once they're dressed the difference in shoe size doesn't bother me as much as a barefoot doll does. You can get boots and rather generic shoes from Facets by Marcia that fit the smaller Tonner male dolls - they are a bit large but they ARE man shoes!

    11. The shoes my girl is wearing in the military shot fit my Rou's feet. They're rubbery and had a hard plastic insole that I popped out. I did slice the back to pop the foot back out easier but it fits without gapping. Not sure on brand but I can bug my bf about where he got them from.

    12. YoSD shoes also fit the female foot.

    13. I haven't taken photos of the actual modifications since I didn't think it would be useful for anyone but I did take photos of my Rou
wearing the modified hands here and here. I wanted him to be able to have gloved hands as well as be able to hold a sword (at some point!)
so I went with what's already out there instead of modifiying FL CL hands, which just seems like too much work (and money).
I only drilled/sanded the insides of the hands and temporarily glued a piece of metal while I look for magnets to replace them with.
Works okay if you don't want to have him holding heavy stuff.

I know that some people have done that but I feel a bit iffy about putting female feet on my Rou, I already feel a bit weird about his feet
being as small as they are (I'm a real weirdo, I know). I have a pair of ACI black combat boots that I was very excited about but they are
a bit too small, they are on the bigger side of 1:6 shoes however, so they don't look too small on Rou, problem is I would have to remove
his feet in order for him to wear them and that would mean he wouldn't be able to stand. Lol! That's why I have settled for 16" fashion dolls shoes
even if they are not as nicely made as the ones meant for 1:6 figs.

    14. Ah, glove hands! Good idea. If somone had the patience, I am sure you could do a finger separation, at least on Rou, and action figure gloves would fit. Not sure I am motivated enough to do it but, seeing as I haven't yet got around to bushing his hands, I might give it a go. I only have a pair of white, military dress gloves in the house, so he would look like Mickey Mouse, but at least I could see if it would work.

Interesting to know that ACI boots nearly fit. See, I would be fine swapping him into female feet for boots that looked big enough. Do you have a link to them/picture of them/some other way to know which of their boots are big? Not all are, you see. I have some of the ACI DMs and I am pretty sure they are too small. I could check, though.

    15. I do not know how you can claim to suck at sewing! Netting? faux patent leather? belts and buckles and topstitching? and a lovely fit! My goodness, these outfits are great! Do you have a link where you got the hands? Did you have to buy an entire doll and swipe just the hands? DUH! Never mind. Rule number one: Google first, ask second. Have some on order now! :D

    16. MadamMauMau, I separated my Rou's hands on both sets of hands and the gloves I tried on him didn't fit! I have the black ones that
came with one of the SS uniforms (only got it because I love the beautiful workmanship and really wanted a black uniform for my HT Kamui Gaiden),
I only managed to stain the fingers and they didn't go all the way in because the fingers are too thick! My advice, don't try black 1:6 gloves
on resin unless you want to redo the blushing or possibly risk staining. I guess if people wanted to, they could always buy extra pairs of CL
hands and sand the fingers thinner to fit 1:6 gloves on them, though the dark ones will stain. Or maybe the gloves might fit CL girl hands?
      These are the ACI boots
I got, they would probably fit on the male feet if they were sanded a little but I'm not going to do that (if FL releases
optional parts for CL and male feet are included, then maybe!).

Vindalootoo, thank you so much! I have to say that vinyl is a very forgiving fabric so I tend to use and abuse it as much as possible (most of
my doll's clothes are completely made out of the stuff!). My dolls' clothes would look a lot more awful if I used other types of fabrics but
      thankfully I have managed to use vinyl for most of the stuff I make. I got the hands from eBay, they are from the Spirit figure released by DC Direct;
I was told DC makes the biggest hands in the 1:6 world but I'm pretty sure that was wrong since most of the Hot Toys hands I own are significantly larger
in comparison. On the positive side they are not too small and the glove design fits with what I needed them for. Google is great for sure,
you can also find a lot of parted out 1:6 parts on eBay and some US figure-retailers do as well although I find that you can always get them much
cheaper from Asian seller on eBay and even get free shipping. (:

    17. Thanks for that info on the gloves. Yes, there is not much space between the fingers, so that makes sense.

TTM-20 hands are fractionally smaller than my Rou's hands, by about 2mm in length. I just checked. You can still get them relatively cheaply on eBay, should you ever have to do a mod like that again.

Ah, nice boots. If my Rou ever goes contemporary, I will get some of those. I don't mind using my Ino's feet for them. Still haven't checked my ACI DMs for size. I will do.

    18. No problem! I have a lot of extra HT hands and also the TTM-20 ones but only have Wesker's gloved hands so I might want to look for a few more HT gloved ones, since they are a bit bigger than other ones I have. I want some of ACI "fashion" boots as well, I always miss the releases but I will keep my eye out on the latest one this time for sure. Molded 1:6 shoes tend to be smaller than fabric ones, but maybe they won't look too disproportionate on the CL girls (I want them for my 1:6 male figs, actually) but I wouldn't mind them on my Rou if they are not too small. (:

    19. Bits of update.

I tried the ACI DM "Fashion boots" on the girl feet for my Rou. They are bigger than even Newline jump boots, but are made of moulded plastic, which is almost sticky. There was no way I could slide the feet in there. They would still have looked too small anyway, imo.

And I asked Thomas Eichhorn-Nelson about adding paperweights to tiny glass eyes and he said it couldn't be done, they would just be too small. Ah well. Worth a try.

Finally, it is possible to squeeze a male CLine into YoSD underpants. I wouldn't call it a good fit and the waistband is likely to start coming undone (but can be restitched, but they do look quite good on. I will see if I can take a piccy tonight.

    20. I made my girl some elf boots! It was actually fairly simple and I plan to make some for my boy too. I can try to take some pictures. Its a pretty basic lace up soft soled shoe made of microsuede but it could be made in leather with a foam sole for more modern boots.
