Fairyland Chic Line clothing, shoe, and wig database - Useable vs. REALLY FITS

May 18, 2010

    1. I went for the tighter stuff, worried about pants so I didnt order those, I cant wait to see more photos of what works with them, Im cheacking here every day, I might have to learn to sew or at least learn how to alter the fashions I have after years of hoarding doll cloths!

    2. Has anyone tryed ken shoes on the boys yet l think they might fit.

Here is a pic of the high heel feet in Tonner's Antoinette shoes (from the first basic one)
The jeans are by Empire. She can sit in them as well. I have another pair in the same style and i can just barely close them but she cant sit down.

(please excuse the mess, it was right after breakfast)
And while i am at it, got some new eyes. www.artistique.us in 6 mm.
They were cheap and they shipped fast :)

    4. Mia K- She is lovely in those jeans and those shoes are so darling on her! What size/type wig are you using in that picture? I have some Avantguard wigs here that I will try for my Lishe when she arrives, but I want some jeans too for her as well!

    5. From the links that Shuga_shug provided I found an outfit I thought might work. It is by Hazel Street designs and was made for Antoinette/Cami dolls. I took a chance on it because the top was baggy enough and the bottoms were leggings. The top works ok, but the leggings are not long enough and they don't want to go all the way up around the butt/hips of the Chic Line. The top hides the fact that the leggings are sliding down. (Also not really happy with the price considering the belt came apart on the first try and I've bought leggings with shirts from Shuga_shug herself for more affordable prices.)

**Warning about the Ready to Rumba shoes and the Delightful heels from JuJus Dolly Mall**
I purchased one pair of each and they've been on Lishe a total of twice. The small black tab on the bottom of the heel part has come off each pair of shoes. I can glue them back of course, but if you are posing the girls keep an eye out for the tiny plastic heel stub so you can glue it back on.

This is the second outfit I got this week and it's from a seamstress on ebay. Poland I believe. Anyhow, it is marked as being for a DeeAnna Denton doll and the blouse fits fine when it's buttoned and has the belt around it. Although the fabric makes it slide a bit so she does tend to show a health dose of cleavage. The skirt has a zip up closure from about half way in the back. It's a little loose but hangs on the hips fine and is a nice length when it's all said and done.

These are the jeans I got from ebay from the seller laurabellecouture. The fit fine but may be just a tad short at the bottom. The pink shirt I got from releaserain and fits ok until you go to fasten it up the back around the jeans. I would have tried tucking it in if the jeans had a bit more room, but I don't think they would have fastened if the shirt was tucked in. She does sit very nicely in these jeans though.

    8. derilan85 , i use Avantguard wigs for my Lishe :) The wig she is wearing is by jpop in size 4-5.

    9. Thanks Kadepie & Mia! The info definitely helps. Hopefully my Lishe comes soon so I can check all the clothes I have to see what fits. I have tons of AvantGuards wigs & clothes and am hoping for the best fit with those.

    10. Does anyone know how the Sybarite shoes would fit our girls:aangel:... I am DIEING for some of their fashions and shoes:drool... But don't want to have to shell out the cash without knowing how it would fit:|
      ~Anthony

    11. Shuga, the AG shoes you have on the top of your blog fits like a glove ;)

    12. Hi Joyce,

Thank you for the wonderful body comparison of so many different brands. It really helps to figure out how different they are!!! Well done, dear!

    13. Mia K- Thanks for letting me know what type of wigs you are using for your Lishe. I have some AG wigs here and just purchased 2 more wigs for her. Fairyland just sent my wig for her from their website. So I will have some things here for her to wear.

    14. Okay! Here, as promised, is my mega-big shoe picspam of what fits and what doesn't. :)
      All bought from here: http://www.facetsbymarcia.com/shoes.htm

First up we have the "sling back bow pump"
These shoes are absolutely my favorite - I think I'm going to order some in every colour! They look super cute, fit perfectly, slip on and off easily, and she can stand up fine in them. Just as a note when choosing shoes: the ones that are open at the back, like this, tend to fit better than fully enclosed shoes - less margin for error with them! Here she is standing:
      And from the front:
You can see how well she balances in them! I can't get over how cute they are...

Oh yes, and before anyone asks, the wig is a Monique Marianne wig in size 4-5 (bleached blonde), and fits her head PERFECTLY, and the clothes I made myself. :)

Okay, next we have the "Spectator pump"
These did not fit nearly so well, which I was so disappointed by, they are too big and there is about a 2-3 mm gap at the back:
However, I did try a fix of stuffing the toes with something so her foot didn't slip down so far and it...sort of works. She stands up in them then, and they look better, but they are still alittle too wide so she has a tendancy to "roll" at the ankle in them. Here's a pic, anyway, in the black and white version (yes, I got both!):
You can see how the ankle is not quite straight there...
So for this shoe, if you are picky about a good fit, I would not recommend these, but if you just HAVE to own that rockabilly style, and don't mind having to stuff the toes, then I say go for it. They look quite good on, and she can still stand in them, just needs more careful posing.

Next up we have "Ready to Rumba", which fits fine, but since someone else has already reviewed them I only took the one picture:
Very stylish, the only thing I would note is that I find it a little annoying to have to undo the strap every time I take them on and off: I find I much prefer a slip on shoe! So bear that in mind if your doll is a fashion queen and likes to get changed ten times a day. Otherwise, a very nice shoe and a good fit, recommended!

Okay, next we have another failure I'm afraid: the "charming" sandal from Monique:
Now, this is an odd one: if you look at the picture above I think you'll see the problem - the arch of the shoe fits the arch of the foot fine on one shoe...and not at all on the other. There's about a 2 or 3mm gap between the shoe and the arch of the foot. So one shoe fits, the other not at all. I therefore can't really recommend these, since you might get a pair that fits, or you might not! Also, I find the toes just don't seem to fit right under the strap, they just seem to want to slide half off, making it difficult to make her stand. I did manage it though: here's a pic:
Yeah, so not really recommended... there are other sandals that fit better, I'd say go for one of them.

      Continued below....

    15. Now, last one! And saving the best for last, for me!
      The "4 buckle boot"
Oh yeah!!!! Downside: all those straps are a pain to adjust. Upside: DAMN THEY'RE HOT!!!!! They fit well, she stands beautifully in them, and seriously, they are one hell of a sexy pair of boots. I would HEARTILY recommend these ones, as long as you don't think tightening the straps will drive you nuts.
To show off their sexiness, slightly NSFW pics for you all:

Oh yes! She's wearing little bat wings from Camellia Dynasty there: http://www.camelliadynasty.com/shop...=15_19&zenid=095ea0a69b3f96d1d8fa4b72b360ce07 - they look really cute on her! So, yes, can recommend those too.

      Here's a slightly clearer pic:

Phew! So that is the end of my MASSIVE review! Hope that was of some help to people - now happy shoe buying, everyone!

    16. morganatron - Thanks for sharing those pics. I love the style you gave to your girl :love

    17. Morganatron - Thanks for the great info and pics! I have never heard of Camellia Dynasty before and now I want all of their accessories so cute!

    18. Awesome, thank you so much :D
