Anyone else have an incoming Rozen? DD shipping is always so slow! Estimated delivery Tuesday. Arriving by stagecoach, I think. Will post pix when he's here.
Gratz @petiteballerine I can't wait to see pix of yours. DDE told me my layaway came in, but I can't pay it in full just yet, so it will be a bit before I get my boys. At least I know fully what I am doing with his smirking elf version, I'm going to make Puck from Gargoyle. Might even see I can put it on the feeple 60 male body, but 100% I am making Puck with the event head.
my Rozen has arrived. The funniest part of him is his pants. They don't fit at all and always fall down o_o IMG_1126 by Kate M, on Flickr
Oooh, he's very handsome!! I like the sculpt even more seeing it blank! Love his lips especially Congrats!
I hope it speeds up! I think DD (DenverDoll is what I'm assuming that acronym stands for.) used to have choices for shipping like Priority Mail or FedEx Express, but they ship all dolls with UPS Ground which can take ~forever~. Please post your Rozen when he arrives!
How do you feel about the body posing wise? I'm considering a Rozen even though I am mostly in Iplehouse land..
Honestly I'm not sure if I like this body or not. I bought this guy mostly as a fiance to my Iplehouse SID girl. But he looks as a teenager for me, not as a grown man. As for posing - he is much more posable than Feeple65 girls. That's most positive point for me. He needs to be restringed, +eyes and wig...I hope to start play with him in 1-2 months ahead
@Haven_Of_Dolls336 I have the body from my Rick, and I love it, which is why I ordered Rozen. However it's kind of scrawny but also has muscles. In real life I've known a few 20 somethings guys with builds like that. Personally I get dancer vibes from the body. Next to my SID model men it looks small, but next to a feeple60 boy it looks normal. (that makes my feeple60 boys look like teens and the f65 a grown adult.) As for posing I really love how most of my fairyland dolls pose/hold poses.
Thank you both! I may just stick with my YID boy for my SID girl, I had been thinking about switching either him around or the SID Dean I was going to get for a Luts SDF65 girl on the shorter body.
The stagecoach from Denver was delayed and supposedly arriving tomorrow. (wednesday) I bought this boy to be a character in a story: thin, muscular, but very pale. Oops. I couldn't resist tan.
Sorry to parachute in here with a request, but I was wondering if anybody with an old Normal F65 body (the non-muscular one) could share a photo of the inside channel of the forearm (where the elbow piece connects to the forearm) and also the knee -> lower leg channel? Thank you!!!
Just thought I'd pop in with a reference photo of a Delf/Feeple65 hybrid! I was swapping around my F65 bodies recently and it turns out my Delf Moon matches one of them really well! I had him on the muscular one before, but the slightly leaner body works better aesthetically and this body is more yellowed so the resin match is quite good. I'm so pleased!! His name is Saturn, thus the censor image Someday I'd like to sculpt a nicer residual limb (he's an amputee), but for now it's always covered by a shirt. @Serraphym, mine has pliver sueding in the joints, would that still be helpful to you? As you can see, my dude only has one arm so I can easily take a photo of the other arm's pieces lol, but the sueding might make it hard to see what's going on in the joint.
That would be, thank you! I'm mostly curious about the resin channel for the arm, and anything I can surmise about the bottom knee joint! Also, Moon on the body looks spectacular! This is the hybrid I would love one day!!!
@Serraphym Here are some photos of the elbow and knee joints. I don't know what you're up to but I hope it helps Nothing special about the elbow IMO. The left piece is actually part of the upper arm and just allows it to swivel, but you can also pull it out to make the arm bend further than 90 degrees. The knee is much more complicated. There are two pieces inside the leg: a knee cap, and the actual ball joint. The ball joint has a little o-ring system so you can remove the calf and foot without disassembling the whole doll. If only Fairyland had ever taken advantage of this and made some fantasy legs Now that I think of it, I wonder if the new F65 body kept this knee design?
I ordered a blank Rozen in stock at DDE to get the new Feeple65 body. I love how it looks in the photos and it will match well with my other 65cm boy. I’m going to be putting an older Delf head on it and I’m so excited!
My Rozen is due to arrive today! Via UPS ground. Which means they’ll just drop it on my front porch and leave it sit in the rain for hours before I get home from work. Hopefully I’ll get there before it does.
I just got a new-to-me hybrid Soom/FL65 boy today and @overlordu your pic of the lower leg part was enlightening as I struggled mightily to get his legs strung together and had no idea what the O-rings in the bag of pieces were for. I need to string him tighter (but that's a tomorrow job) so that pic is definitely helpful for tomorrow's adventure. I do have a question though and I hope somebody here can say yea/nay on it. I will start with full disclosure in that I utterly HATE mag parts with the fiery passion of 10,000 burning suns. I will grudgingly accept the mag parts for this new guy because he's freaking gorgeous and OOAK due to his vitiligo dye job. However, the mag arm attachment in his chest sucks giant balls and I hate it even more passionately than mag parts in general and he's literally been strung together in my hot little hands for about 4 hours. I do not see my intense dislike for this attachment situation changing. Can I string his arms in the normal way (1 elastic running from wrist to wrist), removing that funky piece, without it... I dunno, making his arms hang weird or something? I need to tighten his torso elastic a LOT so I'm basically re-stringing him tomorrow so completely re-doing his arms isn't a huge deal although my hands will likely have a very different idea of that.
I've tried twice now to share pics of my tan Rozen, but flickr isn't cooperating. He poses very well, and the slim body is nice. Love his coat and boots. I have Rho and Roke who look like a different company's dolls next to the new guy. Pics when I figure out how. meanwhile, here's cake
@Iron_Dog I'm glad the photos were helpful! Restringing the old F65s as intended is incredibly annoying. I disassembled one, and when trying to put him back together, I thought I could string him from the knees up... As in, loop the elastic through the o-rings first, then move upwards. But I couldn't figure it out. So in the end I had to string as normal starting at the neck, then painstakingly clamp the elastic at the knee with hemostats, and thread the o-ring on. VERY annoying. Assembling the arm magnets is also very fiddly and annoying, though I do like the end result. (Very handy for clothing changes when a shirt is a bit too tight to slide over those wide shoulders! Just pop off his arms, stick them into the shirt sleeves, then put the shirt on the body and pop the arms back in ) The good news is you can assemble him the traditional way and there's not really a downside. You can even string his legs normally and disregard the o-rings. The thing with the arms is that because the magnet is so strong, it helps the parts grip and hold position. So if you remove the magnet mechanism, the elbow will still pose nicely, but the shoulder does tend to slip around, so he can't hold his arm up very well (if at all). My dolls just stand around in boring poses anyway, but if you suede his shoulder socket it will fix that issue. @petiteballerine Ohhh please, I'm dying to see old and new F65s next to each other!!! If you're on a desktop computer, here's how I post from flickr: On the photo's page, click the download button (the downward pointing arrow). Choose "View all sizes". Right click the image, choose "Copy image address". Then on DoA, click the "Image" button and paste in the URL! Not sure how to do it on a mobile device, but I hope this helps!
