1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Fairyland Feeple! Riff and Esther

May 18, 2007

    1. So, I have a probably dumb question, but I keep looking all over, and I'm not finding my full answer in any one place. What kind of modifications need to be done to fit an old style CP (girl) head on this new style body?

Basically, I want my girl to be an elf, and I have a first edition Lishe elf with no body, so I would love to put her on Esthers body, otherwise, I'd have to pay someone to mod Esther into an elf, and I figured why do that when I have a perfectaly lovely elf head sitting around.

Anyone with information, or links to a walkthrough here on DoA would be helpful, I'm completely confused, and half the things I'm finding says its not possible (so, maby its not, I just need to know for sure). Thanks in advance!

    2. Sterling, all you have to do is remove the "easy attachment" pieces from the top of Esther's neck, and just use a larger S-hook instead. Then you might need a regular neck piece inside Lishe's head to hold it all together... or you could just attach the S-hook through the neckhole and then hook it into the loop in the headcap.

It's Sunday night here, so my Esther will be arriving tomorrow morning. I

    3. Sorry, a question. Are Riff's shoulders broader than the standard CP body?

    4. blackpaperbag, according to the measurements on the respective websites, they both have a shoulder width of 13cm, which suits the fact that Riff is able to wear CP boy clothes.

    5. That's all you need to do? OMG Thank you so much for posting this twigling!! I want so much this body for my elf Yder so that my Keikai and Ace (Bishonen House, 77 cm) No longer look like he's too tall for my elf!! Thank you so much =D Is it hard to take off the mechanism?

    6. Thank you so much for the information twigling, I REALY appreciate it.

I'm so excited your girl will arrive tomorrow! I can't wait to see pictures of her!

    7. Thanks twig ~

    8. No worries. My Esther arrived, and I have taken some comparison pictures which I will post later. I also re-took a bunch of measurements on all three dolls so I will update the measurements for accuracy.

    9. Comparison Pics and updated measurements are here!!

I bought the doll mainly for the body (and couldn't pass on the free shipping...), so I've put the heads up for sale. The faces are tiny, but the back of the heads are huge so they can fit 8-9 wigs. I think the heads I got are actually a bit small for the FeePle body.

Esther's hands are the same size as regular Delf girls, which I think is a bit small even for them, so I put a set of El hands on her while I look for something bigger/better. The skintone is a lush pinky-peach, probably the same as the current batch of CP resin.

Without any sueding or wiring, this body stands well on carpet, even in the highheeled feet!! The sculpt of the body is reminiscent of a CP mature girl, but much more elongated... and I think the bust is a little flatter ~ from memory. When I look at pictures of regular CP girls now, they seem really stunted. I feel that Ester is a bit slimmer than the other Model size girls (especially in the ribcage), and she can wear SD size tops, but I think her hips demand bigger pants, probably SD13 boy size at least, but longer legs of course.

She is NOT in the least kicky. All the joints move really well and its easy to put her into any number of poses. The stringing is not too loose and not too tight, but I will probably tighten it because I like it tight. The highheel feet she comes with can wear SD16 size shoes, but also SD13 girl shoes. The flat feet will probably need boy size shoes but I haven't checked.

The neck is thin, 9cm at the widest (top) and 8cm at the narrowest. I will be building it up to suit the Minimee head I plan to put on it. Overall the smoothness of the joints when you bend them, not just to look at, but the action makes this the most poseable doll I have ever handled, and she is a pleasure to look at. Of my three model-size girls she is definitely my favourite so far. The skintone is much darker than the Minimee head, but I knew that; and the wrists are very slim, but I think once I find some slightly larger hands and thicken up the neck, she will be just right.

I removed the resin pieces and hook that holds elastic in neck with little difficulty, although it was harder than on a MNF because the hook was a much thicker gauge.

    10. First of all, great information, and thanks for posting the comparison pictures, and measurements.

I'm realy excited about the posability of these bodies! The more I think about it, the more I want a boy and a girl FeePle!

My only question, is with the neck being 9cm at the largest, I don't think an old CP head would fit, the hole just would not be large enough to fit over the 9cm neck. Am I wrong?

    11. Sterling I think it will fit.. beyond the area where it is 9cm around, it tapers off to a rounded top. I have put an old Lishe head on a body with a 10cm neck once, and it worked fine.

By the way, when you remove the neckpiece, it will be a lot easier to loosen the end of the s-hook that holds onto the elastic than the one that holds onto the resin pieces. You'll know what I mean when you see it.

    12. oops, it went through twice...

    13. I just ordered my Riff! :celebrate

Now I'm waiting for the email invoice to be sent so I can pay it....

Has anyone else ordered 'beautiful white', or am I the first?

    14. I ordered beautiful white, but I'm waiting for them to fix their paypal issue. It's supposed to match CP's white skin right?

    15. Yes, they say it does. =3

I just tried to pay with the CC invoice system but my card was declined.:doh
It's only temporary, as it was declined due to the fact that my last deposit hasn't cleared (I use my Visa debit card) but my available balance was $700 before that deposit, and now it's $1260 (once said deposit clears).
I made sure there was enough left before the deposit, and I bet it would have gone through fine if I had ordered last night instead of today...when apparently a certain chunk of that $700 is being held in hostage against that deposit not processing. *is annoyed*

    16. They did say beautiful white would be the same as CP white.. my normal skin Esther is a great match with all the NS CP parts I have laying around.

    17. They now have several outfits up and they say they will not fit Delfs even though they are the same styles as available for the Delfs. My Riff now says "before shipping"!

    18. Cool. I'm pretty sure my Luts White Karon head will look awesome on the body. Does anyone have any clue how to fix a bobble-head though? Because I get the feeling K-doll's neckholes are way bigger than a Feeple girl's.

Any ideas, twig? I'm clueless about modding...

    19. Riff arrived! I haven't had time to take pictures yet, but I did have a few minutes to play with him this morning! His stringing needs to be tightened, but I like the way he can be positioned and he sits very well! I tried a pair of Hound pants (Iplehouse) and shirt (Cheerydoll) on him and both fit well. In fact the pants couldn't be better! I like the way they pack the dolls! They come with the head off so they will fit in a shorter box! There are no pillows, but dense foam that is specially cut all around him.

His face is small compared to his head. I haven't decided if that is good or bad! He is painted very nicely! I am very pleased with him! I may just have to order Esther next!

      Nancy

    20. Congrats! =D
I was wondering how they were packed, since no one had mentioned it yet.

...hmmm...perhaps this means that they'll be getting to mine soon....
      I hate waiting. *fidgets*:sweat
