    6. Yes, you are right. We all need more smiles. And your Teddy's face is just perfect for it!

My Obi duo were admiring falling snowflakes. Now they are planning what to do next.

    8. My Obi arrived today! It was after dark, so I will take pictures tomorrow. He’s so cute! The teeth don’t even bother me (my original excuse not to order one) like I thought they would. Now to figure out a name, eyes, and clothes. So much fun!

    9. Congrats! Just in time for Christmas!

    10. @El BJD yes, just in time! Thank you!

I thought I had some tiny eyes, but turns out that they are too big! Looks like he will need new eyes, and as for clothing, once again Obi is smaller than what I have at home. New doll, new size = shopping!

    13. Hello everyone! I've been away from the bjd hobby for years and only recently started looking at them again, and the one thing I always regretted not getting during my time with bjds was a realpuki tyni.

I see that DDE has the new realpuki obi and everyone's photos of the tan skin are so cute. At first I didn't quite like the face plate but he's really growing on me and I'm kind of tempted to get the tan set with blank sleeping face and resin pieces (unpainted). I've always loved little fairy dolls.

I just wanted to clarify since I've been gone for so long, what do they mean by understanding the different qualities of tan resin? I know in the past some tan dolls were painted, while others were cast, and both had their own issues! Just wanted to make sure I knew what I was getting into before I committed :)

Would love to hear/see more about your realpukis, esp considered to pukipuki dolls (which I am weighing against the realpuki). I like the customizable and changeable face plates, magnetic parts, easy posing, etc. Both seem fun for setting up little dioramas or scenes, so I'm interested in hearing how the realpuki compares to the pukipuki in that way (also going through the backlog as we speak!) My other thing is I love having a pocket sized doll but with ball jointed dolls I'm always afraid of breaking them or rubbing off their face if I play with them too much (as in take them travelling and pose for pics)

    14. What they mean about the tan resin is that it’s possible (owing to the qualities of tan resin in general) for there to be an imperfection here or there, like a tiny bit of marbling or spot of discoloration. It’s really no big deal, and if you want this little darling I certainly wouldn’t hesitate because of it in my opinion. Also, just my personal opinion here, I think the realpuki proportions and face sculpts are more truly “fairylike” than pukipuki, but it’s all up to personal preference of course. As for carrying them around, My little Morticia (Realpuki Aki) travels with me often, like keeping me calm at doctor visits or going on shopping excursions (pre-pandemic), and she has her own little hard shell travel coffin I made for her. Of course I’m careful with her, as I am with all my BJDs, but after years and years of being taken everywhere, she’s still in pristine condition. I’ve heard that a hard shell glasses case make a perfect carrier for these little ones also.:)

    15. I also carry one of my RPs around in a hard eyeglass case. I especially like the over sized ones as you can wrap them in a cushy layer first. :)

    16. That is so cute, I love the travel coffin and eyeglass case idea! And good to know, yes I am definitely not a doll perfectionist and am more the "i own this to play with it" type, so that won't bother me at all. I was more afraid that it would fade really fast haha!
