Falling for Tiny Elfdoll Dodo all over again...

I just paid off my loooong layaway for Dodo!!! Yea! I hope I don't have to wait too long.

Oh, only NOW did I read that Oka will not be responding to questions on the site regularily through the 24th or something like that.

Darn, I thought I was so clever to wait until Sunday to pay so Elfdoll would get right on my order.

Now I will have to wait....

 

Dollightful, even though Oka isn't responding to questions regularly because of her move, you could probably email DK if you have any questions. I am certain they are checking for payments and you will be getting your Dodo within the next week and a half. They are super quick to get the doll sent out.

Are you going to get her out and play with her now or wait until Christmas?

I was right about her face up. Her lips are much more pale and a pink. Not the darker color I have seen on other Dodo's. Different huh? Light face up.

We can only post a couple of photos here at a time so... more later.

Questions: Are you worried the mohair wig will stain her face up? I see they tied her hair around her ear and sorta over her eye. I hope it doesn't stain.
Also, her arms are strung so tight. I was afraid to change her hands. Any suggestions? I don't want her to become unstrung just because I wanted her hands changed.
Also, are you worried her jeans will stain her legs? Thanks.

Yes! It was very tricky to get them to both stand, and I got very cold trying to be patient for these pics and a few others.

Thank you for answering my questions. She is a cool doll. I like her eyes, hair face up, all of it!! lol It is just that she is tightly strung in her arms so I, like I say, worry to change her hands. Her hands look good as they are, especially when you can put them in her overalls pockets! So cute! I have to take a photo like that. I didn't think of that with her first photoshoot. I wish all the dolls had glued on hair. It is one of the most difficult things I struggle with is the tiny wigs fitting not right and not staying on.

I think I better find a way to protect her legs from the jeans, just in case. Any suggestions?

Darling girl! My Dodo (I have named her Jane) is pale as well. I wasn't sure about those big ears, but have grown to like them.

I got an idea today to repaint my Dodo. As soon as the holidays are behind me, I might touch up all my tiny dolls. My son and his little boy keep popping in and I can't paint when I have so many interruptions. I'm not complaining, mind, but still, it's hard to get anything done.

 

Congratulations Dollightful! I knew you would love her when you saw her in person. She has a lot of character, doesn't she? My Dodo has the darker lip color as does her sleeping face. I didn't think I would like it at first because I wanted her to look as close to the original as possible, but I found I really loved her with the darker color, too.

I've had Dodo in her overalls for the past 4 months and no staining has occured. I think the overalls are fine. I little bit of magic eraser does the trick if they ever do get stained, but I haven't had any problems with any of mine with the Elfdoll clothing or wigs.

Interesting the different lip colors.
I cannot decide on her name. I was thinking something about Christmas time.
Chrissy, Holly, Merry, etc., but just not sure it is really sticking. Sometimes it is so hard to name dolls, while other ones, it comes to you and it is so easy. I kinda like Chrissy of these the most, but my real name is Kris, so I am not sure. lol Maybe she is a mini me. ha!
Also, she seems like kind of a tough girl. Maybe she needs a tomboy name. Not sure. My other Elfdoll Bong Sun Hwa, has a Japanese name.

 

Yay! My Elfdoll Dodo, Dorothy [secondhand], arrived yesterday. The previous owner is looking into the new improved clothes for me, but, in the mean time, I put her in the short overalls and told her not to skate in the library. She didn't listen. :/
