Changing Hands:
Has anyone tried to change the hands on DoDo?
I soooo wish they were magnetic!! {{sigh}}

I looked on the Elfdoll site and the pic they had was for changing the lower leg part, not hands.

 

Is it different from the other tinys? I've changed hands on my tinys before...most tinys have tied hands rather than hooks or magnets. They used to have a tutorial for it on the Elfdoll site.

First you pull out the hand so that the elastic loop is exposed. Grip the bottom of the loop with a hemostat (or put a chopstick/pencil/whatever through the loop} so that it doesn't go back into the arm. Using string (dental floss, fishing line, I use a waxed cotton string), tie the new hand onto the loop. Then snip the string holding the old hand, and remove it. Release the hemostat, and the elastic should pull the new hand snug. Repeat on other side.

 

Thanks, Clochette... but the new, tiny DoDo has hands with hooks on them, no fishing wire.

Looks like the wrist ball joint is separate from the hand, itself. (see pic)


Just wanted to see a pic before I attempted to separate the wrist jointing.
Wondered if they did have a pic on Elfdoll that I had missed or something.

you should be able to stretch the elastic ..unhook the old hands and hook on the new ..in theory ...my girl has the tiny fist hands ..which I kiinda like on her ..so Im leaving them LOL

My DoDos arms seem to be strung so tight that she cannot even keep a "bent arm" position.
They straighten right back after bending them.

See post #151... it is the reply from OKA at Elfdoll... they do know about the tight clothes on DoDo. They said that they had fitted them to the Monnaemi dolls. (Hmmmmm... I think the problem was that there was NO BACK OPENINGS on both the overalls and t-shirt.)

The only difference between Monnaemi and Dodo is the bust size. So far, I have heard nothing back, but they did say they would replace the clothing as soon as it is redone.

 

TODAY, June 28th I received from ELFDOLL:

Replacement new DODO OVERALLS and WHITE T-SHIRT with openings on the back. Now, to try it on DoDo !!

 

Dodo is in the house!

I'm paying my little Dodo off on the first of July, so I expect they will send the new clothes with my girl. I am getting so excited. I can't believe I'm finally getting one. I hope I get a blonde wig too! And a pig. lol

 

Got my replacement outfit too! I hadn't been following this thread, so it was a total surprise. And a lovely one, since I had to snip open the top of the overalls to get them on her.

 

I received my notice that they tried to deliver the new outfit. I did manage to get the original outfit on, but I had to remove Dodo's head and pull one of the legs out of socket to get on the overalls. That sounded terrible! But now it's on, and it fits fine after all that work. It will be nice to have one that just goes on.

 

My new outfit arrived today! It fits much better. Still short though - but I can get it all on now without worrying about breaking her.

 

Yea!!!... GG..... finally you will have your little DODO girl !! She is definitely worth the wait !!
