1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I told my parents about the price, and I got lectured and discouraged by my dad the most, but mom and brother don’t really care much, since it’s my money and all. :)

      I also told my friends and my boyfriend about it. My friends were mostly okay with it. (But some was quite rude and said I was crazy and something along that line.)

      My boyfriend on the other hand, encourages me the most, and that’s probably because he’s also planning to buy one for himself. :sweat

    2. Im at the point where I don't even have to tell my mom when I order a doll. My family used to flip out when they heard of a 13 year old buying a 600 dollar doll haha. Now that I'm older Im more trusted with how I spend my monies :)

    3. Both my parents know exactly how much my dolls cost, not every doll separately, but certainly they know the typical sort of price they cost. They do not mind the price as long as I have enough around for me to be able to eat of course. My mother spends tons on her dogs, my dad spends more each month on DVDs and his model trains. However, my mother does still baulk at the idea of spending $600 on a doll, probably because my most expensive is $343

    4. I tell my mother, she's like my best friend. She's never really judged me for it, just shrugged her shoulders and said it was just like me to have such an expensive hobby. Lately though, she's been warning me to look out for the economy, but that's to be expected, I imagine.

    5. Yes I tell my family the cost and they don't understand why I want a doll.

    6. I just tell them, "Oooh... they're pretty pricey. But I love them, so I guess it's worth it."
      I'm already planing on my second one (A boy for Aaryl) and my mum knows that. She figures, as long as I get the money myself, I can 'throw it away' on anything I want. :)

    7. Told my Mom from the get go. She wasn't completely for it, but when she saw how badly I wanted my boy she ended up helping me buy him. :) Never dared to tell my Dad exactly how expensive Kyoharu was, but I'm sure he knows he's pricey. But then Mom backs me up with; "It's a collectors item." lol

    8. My family is aware of how much this hobby costs, of course they aren't thrilled. My mom will fight me on it, but my dad will encourage it as I don't normally indulge in other things. :sweat My computer is my only 'toy' (plus 7 books I own, but re-reading them over and over gets boring *_*), I don't own many material items, so he encourages it, says it's cheaper then some families, who growing up spent thousands of dollars on their kids, getting them this $20 game, that $70 game, that $500 Wii, etc. Plus I'm using my own money. :)

    9. I just showed my Mother my SD girl last night, shw was a little taken aback by the price but her eyes grew prettyu wide when I told her how exprensive some brands get. She asked if one could make any money painting their faces and sewing clothes for them... :D

    10. I don't think my parents care to know, but they would be shocked at the price tag. I even get cheaper costing dolls but I'm not one to usually spend much money on myself. If they were concerned, I'd point out that my brother buys a new video game every few weeks to entertain himself while my dolls entertain me. Each new game he gets is 40+ dollars and he is happy for a month. I get a 200+ doll and am content for much longer. I think they'd understand that and accept that it is my money.

    11. i didn't tell them the real price XD;

    12. I usually tell them the price... buuuut... i tell a little less than what they really cost xD If my Diogenes was (without shipping and face up) 330$, i would tell them that he was... 250$ or so xD That doesn't do anything really, it's a lot of money anyway... but doen't seems to be so much if you see the total of dolls...

      I also do the same with clothes and shoes... Not always, but yes with big orders of clothes and accessories...

    13. Mmm.. I tried not telling my parents the price, but since I use my mum's credit card and pay her back in cash.. shes all ARGHWHEREDIDALLMYMONEYGO when she saw her bills.. = =''

    14. I tell them if they ask directly - I'd feel guilty lying. HOWEVER, what they don't know is that I now have three minis, not one. >.<;

    15. Nope, I didnt tell them the exact price.

      They did ask me how much I spent on Kal, my mother had quizzed me and asked was it a thousand plus? I told her no, and said he's about more than a hundred dollars >.> pffft, right... 1.4k more like...

      Though I have a hunch they knew he's more than a thousand dollars but left me be, as it is my own money I had use to buy my BJD, so they respect my decision and didnt raise up the subject any longer.

    16. I lie about it constantly (do I feel bad? Yes) I bought my first doll second hand and never told my mother exactly how much she was. Although after much prodding I did admit that new she would have cost around $400 (which is also not true, new from the site she's almost $600 inc shipping) I live in the Uk so saying Dollars alot tends to soften the blow.

      Even though it is my own money that I save from my own jobs (I currently have 2) She doesn't like me spending it. On anything. So lie I must.

    17. My parents are the ones who buy my doll stuff, because I can't work, so they know how much everything costs. But they like my dolls, so they don't care. I'm very lucky that way, my mom kinda collects them with me, and my dad just likes them!

    18. WEll, seeing as how I'm 17 and still have to go thru them to buy anything doll related (but not for much longerrrr! <3 ) I don't get much of a choice :

      Which is why it took me so long to even get one xD I finally found an amazing deal on a second hand BBB Apollo and finally managed to talk them into letting me get him xD It took a lot of begging :'D

      But idc, they already know it's expensive, but as long as it's my money, they don't really care. They think it's a waste of money, but as long as they're not paying, whatever xD

    19. i tell them the price. heres wat they ay: IT COSTS HOW MUCH?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    20. My family thinks it's kind of a waste of money buying BJDs. They don't say anything about me buying dolls though, because I usually help them out financially every couple months while still paying all my own expenses.
