Families knowing the cost of dolls

Mhh... My parents know, they wouldn't tell my brother though when he asked. xD I sent my grandparents the link to my girl's website page, before I ordered her, so if they ever checked it they'd know. *shrug* A lot of my friends know that she "is a very expensive doll and be careful with her". ;D

 

I think so far the only people in my family that know are my mother and brother, and that's because they wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday/christmas and whatever. They nearly had heart attacks when they saw the numbers. My aunt knows because my brother showed her the DOD site. She liked Sha but clearly stated she'd rather stare at him than waste her hard earned money on anything that "stupid and useless" needless to say she and I had a little chat. My father....shall never EVER know the price of one for he would skin me alive for even wanting one. I can't wait to get a new job so I can pay for my hobbies fully on my own so he can't complain about me wasting his money.

 

As another of the over 40 crowd, I don't have to justify anything to anyone.



I try not to think on how much these littel devils cost me, cause there's a vacation to Hong Kong down the drain.

 

First off, all of my parents know, mother, father, and stepmother.

My mother doesn't really support me for saving for a doll. She says I should be saving for college, which is semi-true, I'm only 14, so I can save later.

My dad supports it, he knows I never save my money and he's actually happy I'm saving for something I really want, also he knows I want it badly because, being me, I treat dolls as if they were my child and since my mom is always busy with work and school, he knows if I had one, I wouldn't feel as lonely as I usually do, plus, he says I need to learn how to sew, so having a doll will help. x3

My stepmother, she supports it only because my dad does, even though she's sort of against it, because it's just a doll. She said if I was a doll collector, that'd be a different story. >_>

 

i just wanna know if anyone here has a problem with that because my parents kinda said i spend money without thinking .... WHY SPEND SO MUCH MONEY FOR A DOLL?
but to me i think the price is quite reasonable. what do u think?

 

My dad helped me order my first doll head, so he knows the price. He doesn't mind helping me, because he knows I intend to learn more about taking proper photos as part of this hobby. He's also got his quirks, so I think he really understands.

My mother doesn't care at all about the price, because she's under the delusion that she's got money flowing out of her ears and can afford anything she wants. She's extremely opposed to me getting a doll on the basis that the hobby will sap all of my time, and make me do poorly in school. I really do think I can keep my priorities in check, but she doesn't believe me, I guess.

I don't actually mind her attitude, as she treats all of my hobbies, including painting, and completely negatively. I only really mind that I have to go through her to buy everything, so she has to know.

 

I do not have a doll yet and did not tell anyone of them.... but when they will know I hope to be able to make them beleive they are max 100 for everything XP

When they ask, I usually knock £100/$200 off the price... even though I've lived away from home for 10 years and i earn every penny of my own cash, I just feel like... they might be shocked if they knew the real prices. Ho hum.

 

I had to tell my mother how much the cost was becuase I needed to transfer my money over to her account so I could use her PayPal account. So of course, she has to tell EVERYONE exactly how much my dear Pacha costs now whenever someone asks her about it.

 

My parents know how much Takeru cost when I got him just as a head/body >3< They don't know how much I've spent on clothes and stuff hehe o.o;

 

My parents know.^_^They bought me a couple of dolls/chipped in on others, and know the value of them.
My entire family knows, including aunts, but it's not such a big deal for them since they are aware how much collector dolls cost.
Besides, my mom collects gorgeous Royal Doultan porcelain dolls, so she knows art can be a tad pricey but well worth it.

I tell if they ask, but otherwise: I keep my mouth shut.

 

I had to tell my parents how much the doll I had in mind cost because they were helping to pay for the shiping and stuff, but when they heard the price, let's just say it didn't go very well *sigh*.

 

I have no problem telling my parents how much my dolls cost, but so far they've more or less told me that they don't want to know. Therefore, I haven't told them. I've told my grandmother and some of her sisters, but not my parents. I can't even imagine how they'd react if I actually had an expensive one, either.

 

I had to tell my parents the full price as I bought him through my dad's credit card -.- xD
They know most of the prices of BJDs, luckily they think mine is a "decent price" because I do exaggerate on the prices of some I guess, to make mine seem more decent ;3

I tell them the price of the extremely expensive ones, so that they try not to touch them XD
They never bug me coz they know that cannot stop me XDXD.

 

I'm the oldest in my family. Both my parents passed away years ago so this really isn't an issue.

But if people ask me directly I only tell the ones I feel deserve it the price. Everybody else I just tell them it's too much or pretty expensive.

I suck at keeping secrets with my parents anyhow...

 

if my mom knows about the doll, like my first 2 she knows. after that if she knows about ther doll i lie. however she only knows about 3 full dolls and two heads.

i however have 4 heads and 8 full dolls. she knows nothing about them or think they belong to freinds. i be a sneaky bugger

on another note, i do pay for all my own doll stuff i don't even bring it up to my parents to pay for a thing to do with them. embrodiery machine for x-mas i want it for cosplay stuff. however i will probably use it more for doll stuff i don't say that. new camera for my birthday. i need a camera cause all of mine died i do not mention that i want it to take pictures of dolls.

i work pay rent to parents, pay all my bills, and pay for school, but if they knew about the dolls they'd be livid.
