Fantasia Doll Elder/Senior Sizes

Mar 15, 2016

    1. Hi, all!

I'm just looking at those gorgeous female bodies - one of my heads that's sharing a body currently decided she wants to be her own person - and was wondering whether the resin colours would match. Does anyone here have a WS Fantasia Doll guy or girl? If so, is the WS more paper white or more creamy white? The head I'm trying to find a body for is a Dollstown head in pale skin - pretty much paper white but the face-up is on the pink side.

    2. congrat @Khell on your future purchase! i hope you recieve an answer soon, but the only fantasia dolls I've seen delivered are in normal and tan skin. i think some more dolls should be coming in this month is fantasia keeps to its 60 day order to shipping claim!
to that point, @shinidoragon your doll should be shipping relatively soon, right? have you heard anything from fantasia?

    3. The original email I received after I paid said the latest she would ship would be January 13th. I paid October 23rd. It said they would try and ship it as soon as possible and would inform me later about an exact date. Haven't heard anything yet though besides my payment being received. But after seeing @Yuna-Ki 's amazing box opening and comparisons I'm even more anxious for her to get here!

    4. oh >3<!! i guess its not that soon after all! Im really anxious to get my girl too '0'!

    5. Two new heads, Henry and Barbara. I wonder if this means that they'll come out with yet another male head since right now the female ones outnumber the male?

    6. Awe the new heads are so cute, I'm a sucker for smiling dolls <3

    7. Oh, Henry! He is stunning. I would love to see him as a woman. Are the heads generally too big to go on a female body? It has no measurements, but 8" wig size sounds as though there might be a chance.

He has a bit of the Sabik to him. Always had a soft spot for Sabik.

    8. I wonder why they're releasing all of these new heads, only to discontinue the line at the end of the month. :\ I hope they're not pulling the "we're going to say we'll never sell these again to get more sales now only to go back on our word later" thing.

    9. Shades of Dollshe... Not a good business model to emulate.

    10. I am really sorry this became a lengthy post.
I both don't think so and don't hope so, but I would be happy to be able to have one of these beauties one day. I think they have been put in a rather awkward position though. They start the company and start the line, but no one buys their dolls, and they think it's because people don't want their products, when it's bad advertising that is the culprit. I had never even heard of the company before I read the post on BJDcollectasy that they were discontinuing the line. But now all of a sudden, people are racing to get them, because they got attention, and the news of them discontinuing the line spread like wildfire. Had they just gone with the 30% discount, without them discontinuing the line, I think that it would have had the same effect. Personally, I do hope that they have a last-minute change of heart and keep the line. Yes, people who ordered their doll/s now may get a sour taste in their mouth, but I think they are too pretty to just disappear. :(

    11. They're discontinuing the line? Hadn't read that, yet. :( Oh well, so much for getting that female body for one of my floating heads. Can't afford one right now, not even on layaway. Too bad, those bodies look awesome.

    12. What is discontinuing is the "fly me to the moon series" and that does not necessarily mean these bodies discontinue. If sales are good, I rather imagine another series of heads would be produced, just like how Iplehouse runs series of dolls but the bodies are different only by size categories. The old bodies may be modified as they go along (the male body was already modified from when I originally ordered to when it was sent due to redoing the joints based on their design of the female bodies.

In any case the sculptor doing these bodies is likely to continue to produce more lovely bodies as they get more experience.

P.S. Henry - OMG, heart throb!

    13. I adore him too! I wish I had the funds to get him, but I'm totally doll-ed out for 2016.

The Fantasia female heads are so much smaller then regular SD doll heads and I speculate that the male heads would look totally fine/proportional on the female bodies.

    14. Hmm, I'd asked about the Fly Me to the Moon series discontinuation, and this was the answer I'd gotten:

Our current promotion is only for "Fly me to the moon" series and it includes Jupiter, Isaac, Alice and Vivian.
We will release new Elder Men and Women heads with each two types soon before the promotion finish. One of Men heads will be Jin type which we released once before so it’ll be Re-released with the other new head.
We will also release New Series in the future and when it once release our current promotion will be finished.
It’s also possible to order and deposit money through PayPal first and then change the head part later when the new heads release.
Thank you for your interest in Fantasia's products.
We hope to delight you with our dolls.

I'd initially interpreted it as the Elder bodies going away completely, but now what Walter says makes sense. The new Elder Men and Elder Women heads that have released since I'd gotten that e-mail have been Canary, Canary Cute, Henry, Henry Sleepy, Barbara and Barbara Sleepy. I guess all of these are still Fly Me to the Moon.

Looking at it now, the answer is really vague. I read it the way I did because I asked them if they were discontinuing the Elder line, and they said yes.

    15. And see, I don't think Fantasia's answer is vague at all -- seems to me that it clears up all our questions. The first sentence says explicitly that the "Fly me to the moon" series only includes the Jupiter, Isaac, Alice, and Vivian heads.

Then Fantasia says, "We will release new Elder Men and Women heads with each two types" -- that is, regular and sleepy or cute -- "soon before the promotion finish." That would be Canary + Cute, Barbara + Cute, and Henry + Sleepy: they are new Elder Men and Women heads released soon before the end of the Fly Me to the Moon promotion. Again, the answer is clear: these heads are not part of Fly Me To the Moon (because the answer lists which heads are part of that series: Jupiter, Isaac, Alice, and Vivian).

Jin is also not part of Fly Me to the Moon, and a new "Jin type" head will be released soon.

The bodies aren't mentioned at all, so yes, @Therealwalter nailed it: Fantasia is thinking of its series as being just the heads.

No matter what, though, I'd better make up my mind about Vivian . . . maybe I'll just get a head and figure on ordering the body later, because I'm pretty overextended on resin right now. Hmmmm! :aninja:

And I should be receiving my replacement (correct) Isaac heads soon -- Fantasia shipped them on Monday, hooray! Fantasia told me that there's been some shipping delay because they're having production problems with their Genuine Product Certificates (they're replacing plain paper certificates with ones that will have holograms).

    16. Do you mean in comparison to other realistic dolls, like EIDs, or to the more stylised, child-proportion dolls? If the former, that is very promising. Anyone got an EID and a Fantasia and could do a side-by-side head shot for me?

    17. I'd have thought that too, but if you click on the "Fly Me to the Moon" category on their website, it shows ALL of their current Elder heads, so from that I gathered that Fly Me to the Moon = Elder series. I also recall having read somewhere that Fantasia wanted to move to a different size category, away from the Elder stuff, but I can't find where/what gave me that impression. :(

    18. Here's some photos of Iplehouse heads on the Fantasia body, just scroll down a bit. Also some side-by-side shots next to a SID, EID and nYID on the first page.

And here's Fantasia Alice compared to my Iple Doria

Alice can wear a 7" wig and has a significantly smaller head then a EID woman (she's definitely the most realistic looking doll I've ever owned), but her body is a bit larger then a Iple EID. So I imagine the male Fantasia heads would be about the same size as a Iple EID woman, which I think look fairly proportional on the Fantasia woman body. Just a guess though :)

    19. They sent me an email about their upcoming senior line. According to the email it sounds like it's going to be somewhere between nYID/SID size :)

    20. I know -- the website organization isn't as clear as I hope it will be eventually. I've started to rely a lot more on the detailed information that comes directly from Fantasia in Q&A posts and emails than on the way the site is set up.
