Fantasia Doll Elder/Senior Sizes

Did their e-mail happen to give you any idea of if the launch of the Senior line means that all the current Elder heads and bodies will be discontinued? I think maybe you mentioned your e-mail somewhere before and that's how I formed the impression I have...

 

Thank you very much for this. Just what was wanted. Love that body. Shows how smooth and stylised the EIDs are (and I much prefer realism, so Fantasia is more my preference). Great to see a blank head shot as well. I can't seem to find any on the site.

 

No, sadly, it wasn't super clear. More or less said the same as the website.
My impression was the entire line was being discontinued but I could be wrong.

Hello from us again!

We’d like to explain again a few points everyone seems to be interested in. First of all, our apologies for making so many people confused. Henry and Barbara and all other dolls released until now belong to Fly me to the moon series. On top of these, 3 new types of dolls are still going to be released under the same series. Next one of the dolls is Elder Woman type and it will be released next week.

The two remaining ones and Man and Woman types, but they are very special because they will have black skin color - these two will be limited editions due to problems with darker skin colors. The black skin option will be called Cocoa skin. The black skin Man and Woman types are the last dolls in Fly me to the moon series.

In accordance with our earlier announcements, the Fly me to the moon dolls will be discontinued on 31st December with the exclusion of limited edition black skin dolls. The only exception to this is Mainland China, where deliveries will continue for a little longer due to existing dealership agreements. After Fly me to the moon is finished, we will not be selling them again.

 

So the current bodies are being discontinued as well?
That's really unfortunate because it's hard to find variety in girl bodies in that size range and the muscular body looks great (especially sad for me because I don't think I could swing one right now, but probably could have in a couple months)

 

Ok so they insist on discontinuing the elder bodies. Leaves the dilemma of whether to get the tan elder B female or wait and see what comes down the line.
I have mature minis in my collection but since every company makes there own size none of them play together well. If they do them, hope they make the size close enough to get clothes for Iplehouse FID or Sartorial J sized for Dollshe fashion size rather than another totally different size.
The muscular female body is what people will miss most since female HID was a disappointment so maybe another version of that in SD size would be good in future.
I mostly go for the muscly guys for me.

How's people's experiences so far, has the intended 60 day production held? Mine is extimated to the 6th february at the latest so still plenty of time.

 

I'm interested in hybriding a female head on a different body. Anyone know the fit and proportionality with an Iplehouse SID or Loongsoul B-G69-01? (I'm not terribly concerned with resin colormatching)

 

A bit before in the conversation there were comparisons between the Fantasiadoll and some other dolls - many Iple, and to me the fit looks good on SID. The SID head is a bit larger. You might want to check the measurements just to make sure, though.

 

I saw that, I think the SID head looks very nice on the Fantasia body, but I'm more interested in vice-versa. Most all of the photos are of the Fantasia body being used for the various Iplehouse heads.

As for the measurements,

Fantasia neck measurment is 10cm
SID is 10.5cm
B-G69-01 is 9.5cm

I've never hybrid anything before so I'm not really sure how that works out for fit in practice. I wouldn't *think* a half cm variance in either direction would require modification, but I really don't know.

 

You're better off going for the thinner neck if you don't want to have to do some modding (which would be the case with Iple regardless because they have a bit of a mushroom top thing going on with their necks) and mobility is usually better.

 

I believe @Yuna-Ki posted some hybridized images with her Iplehouse girls and Fantasia girl.

 

Id offer to post some shots of Alice's head on the Iple body, but she's still at the faceup artists. >.<

 

I would appreciate it, though I've been shying away from the SID body and considering a Dollshe 26F instead. The neck size are both 10cm, not sure on the resins, though it's not as important to me, Dollshe has way too many colors and there are not enough Fantasia comparisons out there to even do a proxy comparison.

I feel like I JUST learned about Fantasia and now they're discontinuing. x.x Kind of wish Doll Peddlar had picked up a rep contract or something to resell at a mark-up.

It is kind of strange in my opinion to try to enter the market with a very large scale doll. I hope their next release is not yo-SD scale like many were implying and is in the 45~60cm instead, though, I also totally wouldn't mind if they pulled a fast one and decided to keep the Fly Me to the Moon series on a bit longer.

 

Curious. It's past the last day of their event everywhere in the world now, and while their event notification is gone from their site, all of the dolls are still available for purchase, with the discount yet.

I hope it's just an oversight. I don't mind Fantasia always having their dolls available for sale, but what I don't like is when a company says they're discontinuing something, especially with the words like they'll never be available again, and then going back on their word. That sort of practice might reap in some temporary profit, but it really leaves a bad taste and is not a good business model to emulate. That sort of dishonesty rubs me the wrong way and I just don't like how we're forced to be ok with it in this hobby for no other reason than that a lot of companies follow that model.

I really hope it's just an oversight, because if it isn't, I'm going to cancel my order. Sure, I want a Fantasia doll and whatnot, and I'd have bought one anyway without the "THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE" dealy, but I'm getting so sick of these kinds of practices.

Edit: Nevermind, just checked again and everything is Sold Out and the discount prices are gone. Strange, it wasn't like that a moment ago, but I'm appeased.

 

Most all companies still have their "til the 31st" events open.
