1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Favorite company?

May 26, 2014

    1. I'm purely curious to hear everyone's opinion on their favorite Company/Maker of BJDs and why? Any Cons from the Company you bought from (especially if you have multiple dolls from the same Company)?

    2. My favorite company is Switch! I love them because they have a definitive style, cater to those who own mostly boys like myself and have high quality resin and products!

The biggest downside would be is that they are on the higher end of the price spectrum but they do have dealers now that offer layaway which takes off the financial burden of needing all the funds during one of their releases.

Second favorite is Soom and third is Volks :)

    3. Personally I adore Doll Chateau due to the unique and weird sculpting of their dolls, as well as the communication that is fast and smooth via emails with their representant Joe. I had few dolls from tchem bought either directly from the company or secondhand and I adored each of them equally. Such a grand work!

Though recently I also regrew my love for Fairyland and their sculpts. While I'm not particularly impressed by the poseability of the bodies I had in my possession so far, their heads and stylings are breath-taking.

    4. Soom and IOS ^_^
Coz they made gorgeous looking face both boys and girls ;)

    5. Pipos, haha. I love their dolls and I've always gotten great service. I own two and I plan to go back for more.

I like a myriad of doll companies pretty evenly after that. Soom, Dikadoll, Bluefairy, and Granado come to mind.

    6. Seconding Doll Chateau. I don't (yet) own one, but I adore the way their sculpts look. Someday I will own a Zenobia and a y-06 hybrid if it's the last thing I do.. the only downside I can think of to them is their wait time, but that's just part of being a small company. You can only do so much, and at least they're honest about it.

Other fave goes out to ringdoll, the most heavily represented company on my collection... awesome customer service, gorgeous smooth resin (even in gray/tan), super intricate sculpts like the red king's armour as well, which is super well done, if a little fragile. They even do custom resin colours! The only drawback again is the wait sometimes, and they are a higher price point, which I guess dc is too...

    7. I don't have one single favourite company. Those I like best, so far, are Volks, Dollzone and Doll Chateau. Volks because I just like the overall quality of their dolls - sturdy, yet pretty and I like how heavy the resin is. And they fit in my arm very nicely when I decide I want one of them to "watch" TV with me. :) I always thought they'd be totally out of my price range but ever since I discovered Mandarake my number of Volks dolls has been growing steadily. Dollzone because I like the overall feel of the ones I got, plus the engineering. And they got quite a few sculpts I love - there's quite some on my to-buy list. And Doll Chateau simply because of their creativity and them willing to try something new - they're the company that makes me go "Aw, dangit, *doll company*!" most often.

    8. I have a few favorite companies I buy from often. Fairyland for their amazing poseability and sculpts (lots of fantasy/elf-eared sculpts to choose from), Dollmore because I am addicted to their huge Trinity girls and their Lusions, and also because they have great customer service and always send lots of freebies with your order. They also sell lots of clothes and shoes for relatively cheap prices and their quality overall is excellent.
I also recently discovered Myoudoll. Gorgeous sculpts and beautiful resin, their faceups are exquisite, plus the dolls arrive with sanded seams, no extra charge. Not a lot of companies offer free seam sanding. Also, they're inexpensive. And they seem to hold sales pretty often. I own two of their Big Baby sculpts and aim to purchase a third in near future. :)

    9. I don't think I have a favourite but I am also very fond of companies like Doll Chateau who make unique and interesting sculpts. Also any companies that make mature-looking MSDs since that's my thing, mostly Raccoondoll and Iplehouse.

    10. -crashes through the wall- LUUUUTSSSSSS

      Serioiusly though.

I originally found out about Luts through a friend back in like... 2004? 2005?
I didn't get my first doll until 2008, but she had 3 that I absolutely loved. Granted, that was back when they worked with CP, and she hda delfs. Still, Luts customer service, quality control, shipping/manufacturing times were great. Even with the move/change, I never steered from them. I love their resin, their bodies (Though if they could make a double joined delf body, I'd be even happier), their color options.. Their manufacturing times have jumped greatly, but I think so many more have joined the hobby that it's hard to keep up with.

I've never been truly dissatisfied with something I've gotten from them.

    11. Switch ♡♡
I'd say Soom for sculpts, but already had a problem with them. Asked to send my doll unassembled and the string couldn't pass through her legs. It was honestly a nightmare, as they delayed to contact and never solved, asking me to buy a leg part separately (100 USD)...

    12. Amare Dolls; I love the heads she makes :D

    13. Dollstown and Bishonen House. Good quality resin, great communication from owners, and just love how great and unique the faces are.

    14. I love Ringdoll they have nice detail and work..also nice to see gothic horror such as Dorian Gray, Frankenstein and fantasy from them. I also like soom heavily My doll is abit stiff on posing but love the fantasy body choices.

    15. I very like Sio2 and Luts, especially the eyes of the Luts' dolls. They have a special style and I love it.
But my favourite of all is DIM.

    16. Volks and Fairyland. They were among the first bjd companies I found online. Although Fairyland was just CP back then. I love a lot of their sculpts. After that, Switch (love that Humming boy body) and Soom (so many fun fantasy dolls).

    17. Probably Luts, since I have two full dolls, two bodies and a head from them! They have good service, strong resin, great posing and I like how they look. My only complaint is the yellow color of some of the older dolls.

I also really like Little Rebel and BlueBlood Doll. No complaints there!

    18. I recently found out about BeYours and I'm in love with almost all of their sculpts and Pansy instantly became my Grail when I saw her <3 So, I'd say probably them XD But, I also LOOOVE Doll Chateau (my first ever dolls are coming from there) and I really like independent artists like Depths Dolls, Lillycat, Merry Doll Round, Dust of Dolls, etc. I tend to gravitate towards sculpts that are different and unique and sometimes "weird" xD

    19. Switch is pretty nice. I love Taeheo's face sculpt. What drew you to Volks??

Fairyland's face sculpts and are truly amazing. I always did wonder what all the hype was about them though. So many people seem to own them!

Iplehouse is amazing in the aspect of their maturity displayed through their dolls. They're a pretty penny though when it comes to pricing..!

I always contemplated getting a Luts... What is your favorite size by them? (Kid delf, Delf, Super Delf, etc)

What skin tone do you like the most for Volks??
And I've never heard of Mandarake...! I'll have to investigate and see what I can find!

In your time of collecting, have you found any good places to find spare hands and such for a Sunlight Volks...?
      What drew you to Volks?
Soom always kinda threw me off due to how many different types they offered like Rosette and Gem haha
Mirabil through Soom did catch my eye for a bit!

    20. My favorites have been Luts, Soom and Fairyland so far. I like them mostly for their fantasy dolls and pretty, somewhere in between anime and realistic sculpts. I really love my Luts centaurs. I enjoy balancing them on one and two legs or using them as fidget toys.
