1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

favorite way of storing clothes?

Sep 26, 2021

    1. What I do takes space, but it's the most reasonable thing to me. I keep all my dolls' bozes, so I just put each dolls' clothes in the box they came in. Inside the boxes, I try to separate different types of clothes in separated plastic bags (one for shirts, another for pants, and so on) so I can find what I'm loking for quicker.

    2. I actually store clothes by type ( all the pants, shoes etc) in separate bags and then in the plastic crate with my dolls. Not ideal but it works for me.

I think a favourate way would be to have a set of craft drawers for things.

    3. I have one of those cube modules from target - with the fabric cube box drawers. I also bought the clip on labels. I have an 8 cube set-up. I sort the clothing by doll size. Inside each cube, I make piles of each tyoe of clothing (shorts, tshirts, pants, etc.) The SD has 2 drawers because their clothing is so big. I put shoes and accessories (extra hands, etc. in plastic divided containers in the boxes too. I recently had to buy 2 flat plastic boxes to store dresses and skirts though because they were getting squished and wrinkled. I store those in a closet. Now I just have to figure out a better storage for all my larger props.

    4. I don't own a lot of clothes for my guys yet, so I think it's super cute that the few I have are all on hooks and hang in a portable dolly closet. ^^ It's so cute, it opens up and has little drawers for smaller accessories and everything.

    5. I started with a box. Then 2 boxes. Then I had larger boxes. Then 3 larger boxes. Then I had to move to a smaller appartment and realized I can't give my dolls their own 'room' (including storage). In the old apartment, they all had their own beds too - now we share mine. :-) That's life. I started to apply Konmari method to everything I own and I had to 'konmari' the doll wardrobe too. I selected the clothes they almost never wore and sold them. Now, their wardrobe fits into 4 round hat boxes I can store on the top of my cabinet.

    6. Same as Teddy, bins with labels on who the clothes belong to and then general stuff also in bins marked as props, or such. In the case of props I like to write on card what is inside so I know if it's worth digging out. I also have IKEA pegboards on 3 walls in room with certain items displayed for easy finding.

    7. Updating my answer- In an attempt to keep things organized and together, JoAnne Fabrics was holding a sale on their storage containers and I found this plastic carry case of boxes that was INTENDED to store photographs. Each box can hold one thick sweater/cape or a couple of tshirts/pants, so... I now have a case of doll clothes and items XD

I did have to remove two of the boxes from the case in order to fit the extra shoes, the shoes are JUST wider than a single slot, but I was able to store food props in a box, extra eyes and small accessories... It's brilliant! Except now I need another one because I started using the empty boxes to store my Mini-Brands collection... Sigh.

    9. Dollar store plastic containers that lock, they are the perfect size to fit on the american girl dollhouse bottom shelfs (stacked in 7) That way I have the top 4 shelfs for display/room boxes

    10. I haven’t got a bjd yet.
But i do this for the other dolls I collect, I find it works really well

    11. I bought those plastic craft drawers that are stackable. I arranged them to make a chest of drawers about 2ft by 2ft. I of course ran out of room.

So I only put the 'every day' clothes in those, but for holidays Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and other themed clothes I had to store them in storage bags and keep them in a bin under my bed, so I can keep the clothes together by season. I pull them out to use when it becomes the right time for the dolls to wear the clothes.

    12. I have something similar. It's a 3-drawer cabinet on wheels. I have 3 sets of them. I label the drawers for the size of clothing (SD, MSD, etc) plus I have drawers for shoes and for wigs,

    13. Right now I do not have so many outfits , I only have fullsets of fairyland so I keep every set together . But if I was going to have a lot of clothes , I was going to put them like this . Shoes in a box . Another box for outfits . Another box for accessories . And etc .

    14. I like to keep my doll shoes in small shoe boxes then in a big plastic bin. My doll clothing usually works better for me in plastic drawers.

    15. This is exactly what I do, only mine is 4 drawers. I'm afraid I will run out of room soon though! Top drawer is body accessories like wigs, eyes, hands, feet. Second drawer is smaller accessories like shoes, socks, headbands, jewelry. Third is for 1/4 BJD and fourth drawer is for 1/3!

    16. I technically have run out of room. I really need to reorganize it but I also bought this little container that I keep all the eyes in now along with some other parts and pieces. I probably need to get rid of some wigs and outfits that I no longer like but I am sentimental and my dolls like to hoard as much as I do!

    17. My dolls clothes, wigs, eyes, shoes and accessories (and I do have quite a lot of them ... hilarious as he does not even have his body yet!) are in a heavy duty supermarket shopping bag (I know its a disgrace). Once I get his body I hope to get more organised.

    18. I recently purchased these Sterilite storage bins from Walmart. I have 4 of them and I separate clothes, shoes, misc/tools, and wigs in each bin. As I get more clothes I'll probably need to get more bins for different sizes, but for now it's perfect.

    19. I bought one of those decorative storage boxes from Homesense that looks like a travel suitcase/trunk on the outside with clasps on the front. My msd and yosd clothes are all packed within clear zipped plastic bags from Daiso and are stored away in this box, and so far it's been doing a fine job at it. Plus it looks very aesthetic, haha. I may start to consider getting another one for when I run out of room, or to properly separate my msd clothes from the yosd ones.

As for wigs and shoes, though... I haven't been as organized. I don't have a lot of them, so I've mostly tucked them away with the dolls they belong to inside of their original doll boxes. I'm probably gonna buy a storage box for them eventually when they start growing into a collection of their own.

    20. Right now I keep my clothes in a unused drawer. I plan on eventually getting a small doll wardobe for my dolls that have the most clothes that I'm hoping I can keep in their room box. If that doesn't work I'll probably just get a tub and put it in my closet.
