1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Feeple Breakaway Discussion

Sep 17, 2008

    1. meeve>> this actually mildly reminds me of the MNF thing, where FL seemed to have no idea that they were confirmed as taking on the MNF line, only in reverse, now. x_x

      the communication between LUTS and FL seems...pretty poor. D: i wonder if there was a falling out between them, which resulted in the various doll lines getting moved about, the website names being changes, and the older sold-out limited doll pages getting removed, replacing wig model pictures, and stuff. D:

      because during that time, it seemed to me like LUTS was trying to remove as much trace of CP/FL/non-LUTS products from their website as possible. an example with the wigs; a lot of the old wigs have new pictures showing them on the LUTS dolls, or the Delfs with the new LUTS default faceups, as opposed to the old 'CP' models, and most of the models are dolls from LUTS' line (mostly the SDFs and the Kid Delfs).

    2. well, like fairyland said, the only head that is the same, is the default one, the other two, dreaming and sleeping open mouthed, are new and their own version and have NOT been released by luts, so technically they could just not sell the default one and get away with selling the other two because they are not the same and therefore they have not rereleased anything that was said to have been limited

    3. Here is message from LUTS managers finally!!

    4. ouch, they are really angry

    5. I really hope CP and LUTS can work out together and solve this problem peacefully. :aheartbea

    6. Sounds like some massive misunderstandings between CP and Luts on the state of the Breakaway heads. :0

      I agree, miakyou, I hope it gets rectified quickly and peacefully.

    7. Is that why the dolls are marked as SOLD OUT? I wanted one ;_______;

    8. All i hear from luts now adays is a load of crying im sorry but i hope delf moves to Fairyland, one of the best companies out there in my view.....dont shoot me please :)

    9. should we only care about personal gains and benefits more than instead of caring about business moral and ethics?
      I do think it's a responsible way of LUTS informing us about what is going on, to aviod the misunderstanding of people actually blaming them for the release or dishonor the limited promise.

      We cannot ignore the fact that Fairyland also have faults in this matter.

    10. Meeve, no one here, including you, has all the information needed to draw accurate conclusions about what is going on between these two companies. I think we can all agree that morals and business ethics are important, but the bottom line is that we are not in a position to make declarations about who is in the right and who is in the wrong based on the limited statements and information we have about who holds what rights.

    11. i'm not in the position to determine nor the rest, so please do not single me out ^^;; just that i think people should not blame luts for 'crying' here when they are actually announcing something to us?

    12. I think it's very premature, not to mention judgmental, to cast aspersions or make inferences in the name of "business morals and ethics". None of us are involved in the business relationship or non-relationship between the parties, which seems to be muddled at best at this point. I do not think either party can be held up as blameless for the current state of affairs, nor can either party be saddled with the complete burden for the disconnect.

      Let Fairyland/CP and Luts sort out their differences. This is something that has really been a long time in coming and it may not be a strife-free resolution in the end. Partnerships do not always end amicably, but I feel that regardless of the outcome, each company will continue to produce beautiful, desirable dolls.

    13. sorry about passing that statement because i'm overwhelmed by the feeling that there's more concern about getting the doll or not rather than the situation now ^^; i hope people can see where am i getting at?

      I didn't stand on any side but i hope people can be abit more sensitive to what the 2 companies have to said/announce here instead of comparing their services or even say such things like luts crying here.

    14. I've said this elsewhere but I'll say it here too. While the part of me that has grown to hate Luts due to their poor customer service is definitely thinking "cry harder" I don't really think judgement can be made one way or the other unless we could know for sure what their original agreement was. Because unless there was a signed contract or something along those lines saying that Breakaway was made specifically for Luts then I really don't think CP/Fairyland did anything wrong. If it was just that Luts understood that this sculpt and all variations of that sculpt was theirs well then that's what you get for assuming.

    15. Absolutely, but keep in mind that the people who have ordered this doll now have over $700 of their money in possible limbo. It's only natural that they would be concerned about getting what they paid for.

      I think many people are also worrying about the one thing they're in a position to determine, in this mess -- the bottom line of whether or not there is a doll for sale here. Since we aren't equipped to figure out the whys and hows of this problem, that's really the only issue we can deal with!

    16. Just a note from the mods: Please remember that we do not have all the information, as several people have said. Please refrain from laying blame on either side until there is more information...and even then, we probably will not have the full story, as this is a problem between companies.

    17. onnawufei: ah yes yes i did saw both your comment and Lizzard's at another forum =) but i think in this case it is best to aviod injecting personal likes/dislike towards certain companies and listen to what they have to say and not let personal view prevent us from hearing each of them have to say and announce here? I'm trying to be very objective towards this as well. please understand ^^

    18. Yeah see, that's why I began it with "While the part of me that has grown to hate Luts due to their poor customer service is definitely thinking "cry harder" I don't really think judgement can be made one way or the other..." because I was admitting that while I don't like Luts, that shouldn't play a part in passing judgement. I thought that was fairly clear.

      My point is that if there was a contract that CP would only release these dolls through Luts then Luts has every right to be upset. If that is not the case, then in business one should never make assumptions and they have no right to be upset.

    19. yah i wanted to emphasize on that as well? actually what i've said was not only to you but to all because i do see some above was rather personal towards the announcement luts made.

      I take the LUTS announcement as a attempt/effort to clarify things to the masses to aviod unnecessary guesses. (i do see people in the first page of the discussion did misunderstood stuff like luts re-release them).

    20. Lizzard;

      I completely agree with you there. This incident looks like it's between the companies, and we probably won't hear too much about it in the end, just if it's resolved/unresolved.

      What I'd like to know, and what I'm sure a lot of members would like to know is IS there a doll for purchase here, or is there not? People have been speculating that the dolls were taken down at the first hint of unrest but what I'd like to know is is this true, or did the dolls really actually just sell out that quickly? If they were taken down, will they go back up?
