1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Feeple Breakaway Discussion

Sep 17, 2008

    1. CP is the creator of these dolls... maybe they wanted to release another Breakaway and decided to go with the Feeple Body.

Fairyland and Luts both cast CP dolls. But those casts come from CP ultimatly. So the question is this... did CP sent the new mold at the wrong place? As people pointed out we don't know the whole story, when Delf dropped the Mini-fee it took a while before Fairyland took them over. If they released the breakaway Feeple they probably did it because they got the OK from CP.

Maybe Luts has all the rights to be mad but molds don't appear in mid-air. Let,s wait and see what Fairyland's part of the story is.

Maybe it's just miscomminication or someone did a huge mistake.

    2. From what I understand, Fairyland IS CP. Fairyland is CP's company. CP casted the molds for Delf and as far as I know Luts just hired them to do it, and then claimed ownership of the Delf line just a little while back.

But Luts is treating this like all of the Delf dolls are theirs and not CPs, from what I gather. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but this is how I understand this)

    3. That's pretty much the situation as I understand it. "Delf" is Luts' trademarked name for selling the 60cm line, and the face-up designs are theirs, but CP sculpted the heads (and bodies, I think-) and retains the copyright on them. (Look inside your Delfs' heads. There are CP copyright stamps there, not Luts.)

Rather or not Fairyland (which is CP's retail division-) has the "right" to release a Feeple version of Breakaway ultimately depends on the exact terms of their distribution contract with Luts. I doubt we'll ever know the specific details of that, but I'm almost willing to bet my lunch that someone reviewed those terms before the Feeple Breakaway ever got out of the planning stage.

    4. this is all making my head hurt .... i hope everything get's solved for the best (meaning that the companies can work out their differences and have better communication in the future) - i had really wanted the dreaming nonvampire breakaway, but if he's not going to be for sale i won't hold it against either company.

but luts didn't have a problem with mnf woosoo - did they? maybe feeple can release a mnf breakaway.....

    5. Heh. Luts apparently didn't have a problem with Fairyland's Nanuris or their Vampire Moon, either...

I think that's why their outbirk this time, right on the heels of that "OMG! Those Delfs are SO oursoursours!"-business, is making some of us raise an eyebrow.

    6. That was my understanding as well. Luts owns the Delf name, and the rights to their clothes and faceups. Fairyland isn't trying to sell it as a Delf, or with Luts clothes or faceup...they even call it a "Feeple Breakaway" and it has its own faceup and outfit.

    7. This thread is for discussing the actual Feeple Breakaway, not the company politics behind the release.

Please take any further discussion about the relationship between CP/Fairyland and Luts to the two [thread=244020]other[/thread] [thread=138799]threads[/thread] about the issue. Any further OT chat will be removed from this thread.

      Thanks for your attention! :)

    8. I though those both ended up locked? :?

    9. I just checked and they aren't locked. You can discuss it there.

As for the doll I hope I can get one either limited or standard release. We'll just have to wait and see what happens.

    10. Well, I can't make any promises that they'll stay open but they're open for now.

    11. Good enough. :)

    12. I'm not sure if I like him yet, but I DO believe he's my favorite Breakaway mould yet. I don't see too much similarity to the other Breakaways; actually, someone mentioned his eyes looking like B&G Sky, and I think that's a bit more accurate.

LOL I love MNF. After they did the Woosoo I think I'd like to see a MNF version of the Feeple Breakaway.

    13. feeple's made an announcement that mildly confuses me becuase they have talked about making it potentially a standard model somewhere down the line and that these are just "limited" as fullsets, but now it says something about that this breakaway will only be released in the same number as the valentines one from luts had?

      http://dollfairyland.com/board/view.php?board_name=DREAMBOARD4&ID=105

btw, is there a place to discuss about the whole thing going on between fairyland and luts, becuase neither of those two threads really seemed like the right place for it.

    14. i saw that too... it confused me more than everything else (i guess i'm just easily confused right now)

does it mean they will release more until they have sold the same number as the bloody valentine breakaway? or that they've already sold that many and so he's permanently sold out? or will he be standard - it's all so hard to say... i hope to hear an answer soon, but i think it's going to take some time for the two to figure things out themselves.

    15. You're not the only one Darkmothflame... I just wanna know if he's going to be a regular or not... all that talk between Luts and Fairyland isn't really our business.

This is giving me a headache.

    16. I read the notice from Fairyland (CP) that Feeple breakaway is different from Luts breakaway especially about the shapes of lips and open/dreaming/closed eyes. Oh...they are making us more confused... ^^'

    17. No matter what I think they're gorgeous, lol... I can't yet decide whether I like them more or less than the original BREAKAWAY, but they are still amazingly beautiful.

    18. I'm confused!!! :( I don't know what's going on anymore lol XDD

    19. This was what I understood too.
But I think they meant there will be the same number of Feeple Breakaways as Blood Valentine ones but in basic version.

Well that doens't change the releases actually.
First Breakaway edition was "basic special" (since it came with a Vampire head) and the "Delf Art Count Verre".
The Feeple ones came out first as Full Set and probably will be released as "standart" until it reaches the number of Blood Valentine.

Does it makes any sense? ^^'
      (sorry my bad english...)

    20. Confused as well, the dreaming Breakaway is just gorgeous and I'm hoping to get one later down the road. I went and asked Fairyland though if the dreaming head will be released as the basic edition. Guess we'll see what they say.

The Fairyland info has been updated on this thread on the 18th. I think this is the new part? At the end there I put it in bold, so does that mean the Fairyland Breakaway is still on? Looks that way to me.

      Edit:
Sorry mods I thought I was talking about the Fairyland Breakaway. :sweat I pulled evidence only to maybe show us that Fairyland still plans to release a basic one, hopefully. I thought the info might help to give us a clue if Fairyland still plans to go through with their release of their Breakaway because that is what this thread is about.
