Feeple Breakaway Discussion

I'm soooo glad thqat he's being released and that FL say he's going to be released standard, non-limited! He's my girlfriend's favorite doll, and the one she always wanted, even though she just "knew" she'd never be able to have one. Now she can have her baby! This made me so happy I felt like crying!

 

Well I got an answer back from Fairyland. Seems like the plans to release the basic Breakaway is still on, yay! Just not sure which heads will be available it seems, but my guess is the dreaming head will be a basic as well since its new. *crosses fingers*

But it sounds good.

 

**Crosses fingers as well** I'm rather hoping that they'll release the Dreaming as a Basic, even if it's just in their A la Carte options.

I could see them releasing both the Dreaming and Open eyed heads, as they released the two MNF Vampire Woosoos as standard options in the MNF A la Carte lines.

Is anyone else though, rather interested in knowing what their new 60cm bodies will be like? I'm kinda hoping they're the A-line MNF bodies, only big!

 

I don't know if anyone noticed this, btw, but when I went to the FL website at around...er...I dunno, 10pm - 12am or something last night/this morning, at least ONE of the Breakaways wasn't listed as sold out anymore. so it seemed like they were selling him again for a while. it was the white one, the Midnight Sun. he has since gone on sold-out status, but hey, maybe that's a hopefully good sign for all of this.

 

Well I'll wait for the standard release... and usually the standard releas they do give you an extra head.. I sure hope so. I want a dreaming and an open eye head.

 

How many versions of Breakaway do we need?

 

Thats because they split the stock between all the different language websites, so that everyone has an initial chance to get one, and then as they sell out on one site they will shift stock around.

I asked Iplehouse about it because a pair of pants I wanted was available on the Japanese site and sold out on the others. So I am sure it is the same way with the rest of the companies

 

i'm betting the heads that will be available are the dreaming and sleeping heads because they're both completely new - from my understanding of what feeple wrote the default open eyed head was actually the same head in each release, which could be what upset luts the most...

but i really do hope they will sell the dreaming head standard because that's the one i feel madly in love with!

 

darkmothflame>> the open-eyed head looks more like the LUTS bloody valentine version rather than the original '05 one, though. i don't think they're all the same. perhaps it's the same as the '08 one? because he looks younger and a tad girlier, which is sometime i noticed in the '08 version as well.

 

i don't know - but my understanding of the feeple notice was that the default open eyed head was the same head each time.... maybe i misunderstood it

 

Maybe the 're-release' heads (the LUTS BV one and this new Feeple one) are the same sculpt, which are different from the original release ones?

I can absolutely promise you, with 100% certainty, that the Bloody Valentine open-eyed and vampire heads are resculpts. I have NS and BW pairs from both Luts releases, and have seen them side-by-side and blank... They're not the same.

This guy reminds me a lot more of the BVs than the original, but the face-up is different enough that I'd have to have one in-hand to tell for sure if he was an exact match.

But...I've pretty much decided against getting the full-set, so unless someone else in the local group gives in to temptation, I won't be able to do a real comparison any time soon. I'll probably pick up a Dreaming head on the secondary market some time, but I'm not going for "completeness" with him.

Heads-up to anyone who's looking for a Midnight Blue, by the way... I'll be cancelling my Fairyland order in about five minutes, so one ought to be popping up on the site for grabs shortly.

 

yeah, I'd figured they'd split the stock between the two sites, but I knew a lot of people were saying that they weren't in stock, and that they were afraid they weren't going to be on sale because of the confusion between the two companies. Just thought I'd point out that they were available again, so I guess that means they're still going to sell them.

I myself know I won't POSSIBLY be able to buy a fullset one, which is why I'm giddy at the thought that he could be a general, standard release! I've wanted one for a long time, because he's on of my girlfriend's favorite dolls, and I'd love to get him and make him up for her. And honestly, I'd love to see ALL of the heads, hopefully all of the version, sleeping, dreaming, AND open-eyed will be open options for sale. hehehe

 

I was looking forward to the standard release mainly because I don't have the funds in my savings account to impulse-buy him the way I normally would have with other limiteds that I just have to have. x_X;;; I have trouble resisting pretty limiteds from the CP/LUTS/FL family.

I guess if they do come up again as a standard, I'd get him for the dreaming head. I don't really have anyone to wear the outfit, as I'm not fond of the 70cm, Feeple body. I'm looking forward to the 60cm body, in the hopes that it might be a body option for these guys too. ^^;;

(And I'm also hoping that it's a shorter-than-average body, because I need a short boy body for the '08 Nanuri that they made! ^^;; )

 

thank you for the information ^^ it seems i had misunderstood what fairyland meant, i guess they meant that there was an open eyed head with each set, not that it was the same head.

 

can you special order just the clothes themselves?

I can confirm with Brightfires that the '08 are different from '05. I had to sell my '08 that I was hoping to replace my '05 because of the differences in sculpt. From the pictures, I highly doubt the Feeple Breakaway is exactly the same as '08 or '05.

My interpretation is that the concept for the Breakaway open eyes for each release have been the same. Open eyes + open mouth. But not necessarily identical. The sleeping heads however, have had different concepts with each release. Closed eyes + open mouth + fangs, closed eyes + closed mouth + fangs and now dreaming eyes + open mouth + no fangs.

 

Have they really sold out, or are they supposed to go on sale soon?
