Felixdoll Brownie Babies - 'Small Comfort' discussion part 1

The thread on hybrid comforts got moved to the Gallery for some reason. Just search the Gallery using hybrid and the thread will pop up. Lots of nice pictures. The Comforts have the same body size as the Puki and Lati White Sp so Kelly clothes can fit them if they are short enough. Tops, Ballet and Fairy outfits for example.

 

I had seen that tutorial somewhere too but can't recall where. I did take the mechanism off the Comfort body on my own tho.

Pull the mechanism up and slip a cuticle stick or large safety pin or some other instrument thru the elastics to keep the strings from slipping into the body. I used floral wire so I could thread it thru the opening on the head easily.

Take a tiny electronics straight tip screwdriver and turn the tiny bar holding the elastics counter clockwise to remove.

Leave the tiny black gasket in place that you see on the neck. It's glued on.

Thread the elastic thru the head opening and secure with an S hook or other jewelry finding that won't slip the the hole at the bottom. It's tight work and took me a bit of fiddling but finally got it in place.

You might not have as much trouble. I have arthritis in my hands and fine motor control is the pits for me anymore.

You can find some really nice wigs at Linda's Dollhouse. The size 4 fit Puki puki and lati white sp heads.

I ordered my Brownie Baby from AjumaPamaUSA site back on January 7...I know it said it takes 60 days but for everyone that had ordered and alreeady recieved their babies how long did it take yours?

 

I was all ready to make good on my promise to go and buy myself a Comfort Baby right away, (today!) but discovered there is a message:
"FELIX DOLL is taking a break from producing dolls to restructure their company. I will send a note to my FIRST TO KNOW list when
they are back online."

ChanaJanaki - what do you think? Have you gotten confirmation of any sort?

 

No word since I paid over a month ago. When I went to their website to look at the dolls I didn't see anything about taking a break from production. I ordered beginning of January though. I am hoping that they will finish the orders they have already recieved before going on hold. Otherwise I want me money back....that money could go towards another doll! To be perfectly honest I REALLY want the doll and don't want to go and ask for a refund. It hasn't been 60 days yet either. I am still hoping everything goes as planned. I WANT MY BABY!!!

Did you order from Ajumapama USA or was it the Felixdoll English site? If you ordered with Karin on the USA site you can talk to her about whats happening, she is a sweetheart and very helpful. I would try and contact them if you ordered with their English site, hopefully they will get back to you soon and let you know whether your order will be filled. I can understand how upsetting this must be for you

 

Ok, Here's what Karin wrote to me just now:

I can not order any items, including Small Comforts until further notice. I just turned off the links yesterday so maybe you got in before.

Sooooo, sucks to be me. But sounds like ChanaJanaki got her order in, in time, but yeah, maybe Karin needs to be alerted that you are waiting...?

 

That does suck, I'm so sorry to hear that, Mamazakka.. Maybe they've finally bitten off more than they can chew. Their sale just seemed neverending and they must just have waaay too many orders to deal with now.

 

CURSES! I guess it sucks to be me too as I was totally planning on ordering one soon
I do hope those of you that ordered will have no problems though, sounds like they are filling their orders, just not taking any new ones.
I guess I best go put myself on their mailing list and hope it isn't too long before they start taking orders again *sigh*

 

wow! really? on the previous page i had asked about the 1999-felix site closing doll orders--they had that same message.

but margikins responded that she had emailed Karin and all was okay. but that, of course, was the AjumaPama site. so, i guess it's all trickling down now

but i ordered the fairy baby from them (ajumapama) and all was okay...that was a couple of days ago though. maybe i better check my email to see if anything's changed. as of order time, Karin had confirmed my order

 

I wrote Karin yesterday and she said my order will still go through! Huge sigh of relief. Hopefully FelixDoll will be up and running again soon.

Yesterday was 60 days exactly since I ordered my Small Comfort. So hopefully I will be getting a message saying she is on her way soon! Nixie, water sprite that doesn't like humans. Can't hardly wait.

 

I hope your baby arrives real soon Chanakanaki, Mine was about 3 weeks late in getting here. She was worth the wait tho. I have a Lati White head on the body right now!

 

ChanaJanaki, I also hope your baby gets right home to you! I know how excruciating these waiting periods can be.. Did you get the Nene head, Momo or..?

I'm just pissed cus I never -got- to order mine... You know if I had paid for it.. then I coudl be like "RAGE! Oh they are still trying to fill the orders they got.. Ok cool." But no... And these adorable little things seem to -very- rarely get rejected by their owners.. So I don't know that I'll ever be able to get one... Unless Felix comes back from bankruptcy... or someone else buys their molds.... I mean... they didn't say it was "closing" they said they had filed for Bankruptcy... So... Maybe.... I don't know... I just have to keep hope... there's just too much going wrong in my life already for me to stop hoping I'll get my birthday present.. eventually.
