Female dolls, big boobs or small?

Jan 15, 2017

    1. It depends on the character and also how the breasts are actually sculpted. For example, I don't like Soul Doll's small bust on their vito girl and especially on their newest kid body. It's just not appealing to me, personally, so I will always go with the larger bust, and if I need it smaller, mod it. I love it when companies give you the option of small, medium, or large and more. I like options, lol.

    2. I have female bodies below
Volks SD13 large bust from FCS
      Bluefairy old jr.blossom
Pipos old large bust for PO11(YoSD size)

They sound like kind of big sizes, but I feel them not that big.
I don't like watermelons and invisible bras too, all the unnatural styles..:sweat

    3. I'm in camp Medium/Small boob, mostly for fitting clothes. I do like bigger chested dolls and will happily work with sewing for them
but the real turn off are the ones that are unnatural looking... There are a few sculpts out there that are just two giant orbs sitting on a torso and it's really not my taste. I personally find that it doesn't look nice even under clothes.

    4. It depends on the character really - I'd usually default to medium just because it's easier to dress, or small if they're younger/more androgynous, but I could see myself getting a doll with a bigger chest for an older flirty type of character. As long as they're well-sculpted and don't look too ridiculously unnatural.

If I did buy a big-chested character, I'd probably try to shell them in vinyl so I could easily swap out the breast parts for a smaller size if I wanted them to wear something that wouldn't fit on the larger ones. A lot of companies sell parts separately specifically for that purpose (Volks DD, Smart Dolls, Obitsu/Angel Phillia etc).

    5. I had to make this decision for the first time six months ago, heh. I'd only gotten a male doll before.

For me, the doll comes first, and the character comes second (formed based on the doll), so 'what fits the character' is not a consideration. My decision process was: I want a more mature female MSD to dress up -> Souldoll MSD size body has two options, large and small -> small bust looks very childlike as opposed to the shape of small adult breasts -> I guess large it is! They're a little more, hm, gravity-defying in appearance than my preferences, and I'd probably have gone with a Goldilocks-esque fence-sitting medium bust if I'd had the option. But the shape makes a bit more sense with clothes on, as it gives the appearance of being supported, though still quite idealized. And I just wanted some curves to sew for.

    6. The smallest I can get! I prefer size zero and don’t really like curvy dolls even if I own some. It is not easy to find a slender body I absolutely love. Either way the face ist most important to me.

    7. I like both though, I have mostly dolls with more of a small bust
I think it really depends on the character for me

    8. I like bigger boobs because mine aren't that small either. So I like it when they look similar to mine.
I don't like these huge breasts though. They look so unnatural...

    9. Generally, I'd opt for smaller, just because I really don't like the "balloon" style that seems really common on dolls with larger chests. Of course, there are always exceptions. I normally design the character then the doll, so that has a lot to do with it too.

    10. All my female dolls have kept their default boobage. Being a woman myself boobs are not a big thing for me and I like dressing my girls in cute apparel. It's hard to dress around the big boobs. My biggest boobage in my collection thus far is a medium rack (default) on my smartdolls.

    11. I’m gaining a better appreciation for larger Chested dolls now that I’m learning to mod on breasts! My issue was never size, but realism, and I’m not ecstatic about the invisible bra look, because I want them to look right even when not dressed.

    12. I prefer smaller.

    13. I prefer small or medium, it feels like easier to buy clothes!
But some large bust dolls' body shape is good for dressing too

    14. Mine are all pretty much flat, like me!! Relatability I guess?

    15. I only have one girl at the moment (Angel Philia), and she has a small bust, but I would've gotten her even if she came with a large bust. I'm thinking about switching her to a bustier body (not sure if the other proportions are altered, but the bust is definitely larger), but I'm worried about finding clothes that fit her. She has a pear-shaped body and tends to fit MD tops and SD bottoms and there are few clothing choices for her even from her own line!

That said, because so few clothes are available for bustier dolls, I think I'll stick with small for the time being. I also know the pain of having large breasts IRL; it's a miracle to find clothing my size because my chest is so big compared to my waist. :| That's why I don't shop for clothes as often for myself as I do for dolls!

    16. I am the same way. I am fairly large chested and I gravitate towards girls who are fairly flat chested.

    17. I want variety. I mostly collect female dolls and i dont want them to look too similar. None of my dolls have the same body, even if the heads come from the same company. I think its best if all of them are unique in my collection. And i have the whole range from flat chested to huge, depending on their character. And i sew all my dolls clothes myself so thats not a concern.

    18. I prefer dolls with small or medium chests. A majority of my dolls are from Supia. Their small chests seem to fit better with SD13 clothes. As we all know, clothes for our dolls can be pretty hard to shop for, so the chest size is definitely something we should take into our consideration :)

    19. One of the things I like about BJD boobage is that there's a size for everyone. I have noticed that larger busts are prevalent, but I chalk that up to supply and demand.

Personally, I prefer more modest proportions, and it sometimes irks me that a doll company's "small" bust is slightly larger than the average while their "large" is along the lines of "OMG watch out where you're pointing those things, you'll poke someone's eyes out".

    20. I too am stacked in the chest and prefer smaller busts. Though I think for me it's just because I've always admired and fawned over slimmer bodies, and huge boobs always make people look bigger.
