1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Finding BJDs in the strangest places

Nov 29, 2007

    1. I found an incomplete body at a consignment toy store in my neighborhood. It was in terrible condition, but I guess someone bought her because I went back to get her and she was gone.

    2. Not an actual bjd, but I was walking past a store at my mall and one of the manikins was wearing those tights that make your legs look like bjd legs. Looked very bizarre on the skinny manikin legs.

    3. I would gather a guess that maybe the hobby is a bit more popular in Asia because when I was in China years ago and I would go take the subway or go shopping, I would randomly see girls carrying their BJD dolls as well. Some wear the same or similar outfits as their dolls, dressed up in Lolita fashion or just in casual clothes. But I would be shopping and a girl and her friend would be cradling their doll while shopping too. I was surprised because it's pretty humid as well as crowded. I would be too scared to drop my doll or something. I've also gone to cafes and restaurants and the table next to me will have a girl or two with their dolls as well. It's too bad that I don't ever see that in the US since the only times I've seen that here are during conventions or festivals in Japan Town or something similar.

    4. Once I saw a DC Bella just sitting in someone's car outside the grocery store, it caught me off guard to say the least.

    5. I know that there is an episode of NCIS (I think) where they're investigating the murder of a teen girl and going through her room and one of the guys picks up an Obitsu looking doll off a shelf and starts playing with it
