~For Those Who Own a Single Doll~

I only have Nayumi with me...but I'm planning on buying another one...a boy maybe. But right now, my funds limit me so much that it pains me so Anywayz, Nayumi is receiving so much TLC from my family

 

I have one doll and I'm going to keep that for a long time. Maybe it's stupid, but the reason for that is because of things you see in movies or cartoons: the kid with only one doll for his entire life and who can't live without his doll (and going through hell if he/she losses his/her dolly). Thats also the relationship I want with my doll. But I have to be honest, I'm also madly in love with ringdoll Kyo, so maybe, just maybe in the far away future, he will be my second and last doll.

 

I have my dream doll, Jaszi (Jasperella). She's a LUTS Litchi. My newest (I guess you can say) "urge" doll is a Little Junior Meoroo. I want to make it a genderless doll, or in character terms... "shim." I'm really excited about saving up for hir.

 

I only have one doll, a Kid ringdoll rebecca, and it will probably stay that way. I feel like designing things for her, buying things for her like shoes and wigs and eyes are enough for me right now. I've spent $40 on dale rae shoes that I want to decorate, I haven't made her entire room for her yet, and there are several lolita outfits that need to be realized before I even think about buying a second doll. I want her to be a beautiful fruu fruu princess, but at the same time gentle and simple. I still haven't figured out her character, which is another reason that I don't want another doll yet. If I did get a second doll, it would be a husband for her.

 

Great question: I am in the process of receiving my first doll Noir Hosoo Dollmore. She is supposed to be shipped out this week. It took me so long to decide on her and then I finally took the plunge. I actually was not expecting to find another that I liked so quickly, but I did. So, saving again. I guess for me, I would like to have at least a couple of dolls or a very small fam of BJD. I think that way when I am occupied with whatever else in my life they are together. However, many people here seem to think that having one and I will be that way for a while at first for sure.

 

"Just one, that's enough," I said to myself about a year ago. "It will be awesome to have just him, playing with him, taking him out with me, do other staff like photography and ect."

Then after I FINALLY got him (looooong story xD) I actually was happy but felt that something was missing and one day, when I watched him sitting alone on the shelf I realized that one is NOT enough and I want/he needs another dolly friend. So I created El Circo Oscuro and my wishlist and started to save for my second doll...who I'll be ordering in a few days

I believe that more dolls means more personalities/characters and that means way more fun

 

I have one right now but i don't think it will stay like that. Like Kittycar i see my Julian needing a friend she just seams to be all alone. So what i'm looking for is a family for my AoD. So i guess one is not going to cut it.

 

I agree with kittycar. I said that l was only going to have one but now l have a friend for Rini that is on layaway.

 

Yeah started with one, zaoll love, and now having bought a secondhand muse,(her sister) spoiling my love rotten and well she love doesn't have a personality yet, she is very silent and well still nog rrl what I want, but the muse, I started to have idea's and stuff so could not wait..

Want a citron head to, so I could be able to switch heads, and YES I do want one floting head..

I am in love with unoa's... I guess I might get a Chibi.. I wanted a lusis very badly but the chibi's are hopefully cheaper.. Else I'll just stay in love and will keep on looking at them from far!

 

I only have one dollie now but she wasn't the 'one' I first really wanted. I planned on having just one boy. My current want and love is linfeng/lance from Doll Family and I have every intention of getting my hands on him but as I looked though some forums with my friend I found this cute little angel of dream doll. She was well priced and I snatched her up. ^^; Rhain's just going to have to wait a bit more.

However I don't plan on getting more than the two. I'll have one little girl to pamper and a larger boy to spoil. That's perfect for me.

 

Why do you only have/want one doll?
because I was just recently able to get my first doll and it took many years to save up for her.
Have you had the urge to buy another doll?
yes of course, there are a few on my wishlist but Nadeko will be my only doll for a long time.
How did you fight this urge?
I simply can't afford another doll right now and I'd much rather spoil just Nadeko for the next couple of years, if I have only her then I can get her more and do more things with her.

 

i only have one at home so far, she came to me in june ....but i have 2 more on lay away that will join her sometime early next year...in the beginning i only planned on having a couple, her and her man....but now my wish list is filled with 14 more dolls, can't help myself XD

 

I've had only one doll for 3 years. OuO He's a Soom Silt, and I will always keep him. He was really, really pink when he came home though. It was almost a gender changer...lol But he's mellowed out now and is very fleshy toned. (Yay! No more ham colored skin!)

He's my little boy and will forever be The First. His character may get reshelled, but I will always keep him.

I always buy or make him in scale items, he doesn't require so much fabric...and he fits in my purse when going out and about. I don't have much to put in my purse, so it's an impromtu carry case. lol

I put a second doll on layaway, and he'll be coming home end of Nov/begining Dec. He's an SD, a souldoll yurr.

I know they are just dolls, but I can't help worry that Marc will be jealous. xD He's been spoiled rotten for three years.

 

Hmmm....apparently many of the responders have not been able to fight the urge. Since the theme is for those who only have one and will stay that way, I'll put in my two cents worth. Initially I got my Celine for photography/art interests but it's become more than that now. There are other dolls I'm very tempted by but they are expensive. However, the main thing though is that Celine would get jealous and I don't want to upset her. The good thing is that I get to spoil her with lots of clothes, wigs, shoes etc. Also I've built a coffin for her to sleep in and I'm building some shelves for her clothes and a drywall backdrop for her "area" of the apartment. With one doll the work is focused on what I think her aesthetic would be and as a result we make up a team. I think there's something to be said for that relationship. I'm so busy that I don't have some large story that I'm playing towards with multiple characters etc. I love to spoil her so and don't want to mess with that dynamic because it gives me pleasure.

So, I'll remain with my one doll.

 

I only have one doll right now, but I defintely want more! I'm a bit under a year in this hobby now and I'm still pretty young and I don't have a job or anything, so I don't have the funds at the moment to buy BJDs left right and center! I'm going to try saving up for another one soon, and hoping for maybe one for Christmas? (Pricey present, hehe)

 

I am saving up for one doll currently. I do not have a Job so god knows how long it will be. Despite what my wishlist says the more i shop around tho more i only want her. I could shower with everything she has ever wanted it would be great. Her character has a partner too it but i am still unsure what to do because the height difference is all wrong. So i will probably stay with Just her.

 

I only have one doll as well since I want to be able to buy her stuff and concentrate on her. If I have too many they all get bad clothes and etc due to me not having enough money for all if them. Although I am planning on getting either an MSD girl or an SD boy later since I only have an SD girl.

 

I've got a boy on the way and he is gonna be the only child for awhile. Mainly because i want to pamper him as much as i can before i get another and also because no other doll have made an impression on me like he did. I do kinda like Code 02 (D.o.D) but not as much as Ducan xD

 

I myself only have one doll that is mine. A MSD French Resin. She was sold to me half price from a friend that couldn't get attached to her. I myself do photography and art and found that a BJD is a much better poseing canvase then a wooden posable doll. Though I have been told that a christmas gift i am soon going to recive consists of a small 24" BJD that is not something I am buying but getting as a gift. Money is a HUGE thing for me. I have about 40K to pay back in student loans and spending anythign on my BJD has been compleatly budjeted. I almost shrink inside alittle to think of spending full price for a doll. HOwever there is one in specific that I want so bad but its so expensive and so outside my budjet that i think i'll never see.

But 1 at the moment is enough for me.

 

I only have one right now for a few reasons. At the time, it was the only doll I liked until I found other companies and their different molds. Also, the funds are just not there right now or I would have about 5 more. At least, that is what's on my wish list right now.
