1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

~For Those Who Own a Single Doll~

Jul 27, 2009

    1. My reason is about money T____T I wanna buy more BJDs (really really want to) but I have to save money for my study plan, I have a plan to go study aboard and I don't want to waste my parents money so I only have one doll. And save money for study

    2. I'm a newbie to this hobby, that's why I own only one doll. I'm just saving up for the second one xD

    3. Hmm... Well, when I got my first BJD, Shiloh - I was convinced she was the only one I needed. Its actually since about 3 or 4 nights ago I stumbled across a sculpt I absolutely fell in love with. I was hoping it would be just a faze but its how I felt when I saw Shiloh's sculpt for the first time. So now my excuse is "Oh, Shiloh needs a little sister..." :sweat

    4. I love my Ako... now it took me 10 years to finally finish her and spoil her rotten. She's too shy for a huge family. BUT maybe one more... PongPong is sooo cute and little. But for now, all i can afford to do is spoil Ako like she deserves :)

    5. My plan is to have only one of each size. Mostly to be able to spoil them. Perhaps one female and one male of each size if I can't help myself...

    6. I have one doll, but that urge to buy another one is very very hard lol. I am trying to get another one for Christmas. but the main reason why I want another doll is so my other doll can have someone else to pose with an so she can also have a boyfriend lol

    7. I feel like only owning two girls. The reason being is I have a lot of my own stuff to manage and just having more than that would get pretty chaotic. Maybe if I wasn't a student and doing other stuff all the time I'd collect more, but two seems fine for me right now. c:

    8. I love how a lot of these comments could be talking about actual living children. I don't have the money, I want to spoil the one I have etc. I'm still waiting for my first doll and think that will be enough for a while, just while I get used to caring for a BJD. I do however have my eye on two other dolls which I will be buying as soon as I can afford them! :D

    9. I only have one right now, my Ardese. Though I am planning on getting more. I want one of my character Seanan and I've already bought some pieces for him like his eyes and wig. But I have to wait until I'm comfortable putting another $400+ on my credit card. And I also want to do a face-up for another character, so that'll make 3 dolls at least.

But for now, I'm enjoying bonding and spoiling Ardese. :)

    10. I'm finding that BJDs are like potato chips ... you can't have just one. I only have one right now ... and I thought I would only ever have/want one to spoil and gets lots of clothes for ... but ... that didn't last long. :)

Shortly after I received my 'one', I ordered two more and have now put together a wishlist. I was surprised at how little time it took me to get used to the price too. It was almost agonizing to spend that much money on that first doll. I saved for a long time and was really careful about what I chose. Now, the bjd prices seem almost 'normal' and with so many gorgeous, unique dolls coming out, it really is nearly impossible to just have one. :) But .. I'm learning to be very discerning and calculated in my purchases.

    11. I don't have dolls yet, but I only want one. I've been researching for some months as to the best sizes for buying lollita/gothic girl clothes for (I found MSD was best), the companies with the best bodies, mature but still cute (I do like Fairyland for this reason) and I've been putting all this effort into creating a character for my dream doll and then I finally found the sculpt that I wanted and I'm saving.
I mean, I've looked at other companies. But really, it just ended up with me thinking, you know, I only like this sculpt because it looks like the one I really want.
So I'm starting with my grail doll, basically, and the only reason I'd buy a second is because I decided to give her a twin. :)

Same thing as everybody else. I don't want lots of them, don't have room and I really want to spoil the one I do have.

    12. I only have one doll at the moment. I do adore him, but his size makes it hard for me to do things with him. He is a Pipos Cheshire and while he is adorable, I do wish I didn't purchase him in such a rush because then I would have gotten my bigger doll first.

But, I am really glad I have him because you can't get them at the moment and they aren't as popular as some of the other dolls so he is harder to find on the marketplace. Plus, they were having a special on colors so I was able to get him in pink.

I would like a bigger doll, but I can't see myself getting more than a few dolls because of finances and space. I would love to have a collection that I can do in an Alice in Wonderland theme, but that might never ever come to be.

    13. I currently only have one but I have a lot that I would like to get. However, I am actually selling my BJD to afford my new one. My style has changed and her face just doesn't work anymore. I also want to try out some smaller dolls, which I will probably get multiple of. But right now I just want one, and if I want a new one then I will sell my old one to get them. I just don't have to funds right now to have multiple.

    14. i've never planned to have more than one doll. actually i still think that my Soyala is the most beautiful doll ever created and i adore him^^
i've never surfed throught different sites to find new sculpt before i bought Soyala. but now i look throught bjd sites, incuding DoA and i found really beautiful scuplts. more over, since i'm huge anime fan, it's a big temptation to buy all your favourite anime character.
one more thing, i do not want to remove his face-up till it cracked, but i really want to try to make some face-up by myself. that's why i bought from the second hand the head with the same mold that my Soyala has. (does it count that i still have only one doll?=D)
now i want to have at least two more heads, because it's gorgeous, but i'm fighting with this idea every single day.

    15. I'm pretty new in the hobby and I have one doll, for now it's enough. It already took forever to save up for this one. Also I've been very busy sewing clothes, not every piece is turning out too well so I have to practise more. I may buy another doll in the future, but I'm not looking now. I don't really have an urge I have to fight yet, I just really want to spoil this doll first with lots of clothes and more wigs and maybe some props. I want to practise in taking better pictures and visit dolliverse with her, also I'm still working out her character. So there's lots to be done before looking for a new doll to buy :)

    16. I only have one doll so far, I got her in december last year as a gift from my mother, and I love her to bits :) I'll be getting another one as soon as I have the money! I've been wanting a Minifee Chloe now for a while, so maybe I'll get her!

    17. I only have my Lusion Ice Daliah doll named Oriana. I do want to get more, but I doubt I'll be able to in the near future. I had the same thing, planning to only get her because she was so expensive. But I see all the others and just love them, I mostly want more to do the picture stories I see a lot. From there, I only have one because I don't have the money for another.

    18. I definitely prefer to have just one doll because then I can spoil them!

    19. For now, I think one is enough for me, though I'm quite tempted in buying MSD body, to see if I like my character in SD or MSD size but I don't think to buy one very soon cause I already adapted my character in SD.
I would like to buy a male SD too, to be her boyfriend in case she is lonely;)

    20. I ordered my first doll last month and I'll be waiting for him to arrive. I've already started buying him clothes and accessories. I do plan on buying one other doll later when I have the funds but for now, I just plan on spoiling my first boy. Once I get two though, they'll end up sharing clothes if they wear similar sizes because the character I created has a twin brother. The most I plan on getting is three but I would be perfectly content with the two.
