It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. ~For Those Who Own a Single Doll~

Jul 27, 2009

    1. I've only had one doll for quite a while, but recently, afret bringing him out of storage, and redoing him, I've started to want more.. oh no!

    2. Yes, I've had the urge to buy another doll but thing that keeps me from buying a second doll is the price. *.* And I'd rather put that money towards my other hobby. Plus my guy just kind of...sits in a dark corner. I don't do much with him so I doubt another BJD would be worth it.
But if someone dropped 1k into my lap, then hell yeah I'd get another!

    3. For me, having one doll was because of two things: money and a character to put into the doll. While I admire so many sculpts, I have to 'know' the doll before I buy him/her. Theirs has to be a familiar face, and one that I'm willing to make that financial commitment to. I've had one doll for eight years (this Spring), my CP El Silvan. When I saw him, it was like my character was staring back at me (I only realized after I'd bought him that Els were REALLY popular sculpts). I couldn't even consider not buying him, and I saved for as long as it took to afford him.

Now I've found the doll that will be my first girl and I can't look at any pics (including other owner pics) without seeing my own character with different hair or eyes. It's very surreal. Just like Silvan, I can't not bring her home.

After I buy her, I know I'll want more, but it'll take saving again. I've fallen in love with Doll Chateau sculpts and most of them look like the characters I draw, so I imagine quite a lot of doll plans in my future.

    4. Right now I have one doll but I want to get friends for her. I like being able to just focus on her and make her clothes and planing her furniture.

    5. I agree, having one doll is nice because of the attention and appreciation you will give it. I didint plan to have more than one in the beginning until I felt like I wanted to get some company for my doll and then slowly the slippery road of wanting more started
I dont think I would personally want too many dolls so I try to concentrate on quality rather than quantity or that is what I keep saying to myself xD ..

    6. I have only one girl at home, she WAS my only doll for nearly 4 YEARS (until just recently I decided she needed a little version of her, and that little girl is away for faceup right now). But back to the topic, I did intend to have only her.:...( I was able to resist buying another doll for that long because I was bent on giving her my undivided attention. I made sure she has everything she needs. She also went through 3 different bodies and sent off for faceup 3 times as well. I simply want her to be perfect in my eyes. But now that I'm starting to be contented with everything about her, my resolve slowly started to crumble.LOL So now I finally let myself have a doll wish list.XD;;

    7. I only have one SD girl and I did plan on having her and only her, since like almost everyone in this thread, they're expensive and I'd like to spend money on outfits and wigs and such. I used to always look at doll owners who have wish lists and get multiple dolls every once in a while and question this and think it wasn't something I would do..

HOWEVER, I now have a wish list lol. :') I learned why these doll owners do what they do, because some dolls are just so darn beautiful that you start creating characters for them and before you know it, it's on your wish list and you're saving up for it xD

I'm trying to resist the urge to buy another one for the time being, since my girl isn't even complete, and I know this is just a phase, and it will go. It's very hard...

    8. I just got my doll-leaves WISH, and I've decided that he's going to be my only doll for now, at least for a long time! Like a few people on this thread mentioned, I want to pay attention to just him for a while, and since I just got him it's really early to be thinking of another! Plus I don't have enough money to buy more dolls, I only have a part-time job at the moment.

    9. I only have one boy right now, and he arrived.. let's see.. 8 months ago? I plan to only have him for at least a while. Maybe after I graduate from uni and get a job, I can afford to buy one more (I really want an MSD girl!) but right now I like having a wardrobe that's only his, and being able to give him all of my BJD attention :) After all, I can hold one doll on my arm, but two is a bit much! And besides, he's my favorite OC anyways.

    10. Hi! I currently only have one doll, my boy HyunSu, and he just recently came in for me. I find one doll appealing personally for me because it means I can spoil him absolutly rotten. I do have the urge to buy one more, maybe a lovely lady or a partner for him, but not for a good long while due to money allocation haha!. I fight the urge by just spending time with him really, it's a lot like living with my best friend. :) I like carrying him around and yeah, I just enjoy spoiling him.

    11. Well, so far I only have one doll. I honestly had planned to stop at one, given the expense (of course I had to fall in love with the biggest, most expensive sculpts--IH EID's). But, since I am recreating my book characters and IH happened to have a number of sculpts that looked like them, I now have two more on order.

    12. Right now I only have one doll (I don't really count my floating head XD). It's nice to have just one to focus on but having just one was never my plan from the start. Ever since I discovered this hobby, I've always wanted to have a "family" of dolls to pamper :XD:

    13. I have only 1 on-topic and expensive doll. Just 1. I just don't want the rest enough. And I'm not finished spoiling Amiga.

    14. I started out thinking I would just want one doll to spoil, but then I felt a bit limited having her by herself. With two dolls, I like that they can interact with each other. I do tend to focus on one doll or the other at a time, for outfits/wigs/etc.. though

    15. While I don't own a doll yet, owning just one doll is exactly my goal. Of course, I can't predict the future, and I'm the least predictable person in my life... However, the niche this doll would be filling for me would be best filled with only one. :)

    16. I have a Souldoll Joelle.D and even before I got him I was looking for a sister for him. Haha. I love him so much, there is no doubt about that, but he seems so lonely just him! I don't really have the money for another doll right now though so it's okay. It gives me time to lavish attention on him and figure out his backstory while I try to find an adequate sibling. I haven't found a sculpt I love as much as his though. Not even close. u^u

    17. For the time being, I only have one doll (well, I do have a blank, floating head, but I'm not really sure if I'll keep it or sell it or something. ;;), seeing as I have only joined the hobby recently. I only have one doll because, yeah, I'm just starting out and I want to at least buy her stuff before I get another doll. That, and even if I want to, I'm currently broke, having ordered tons of figures (hence the reason why I also am not able to buy that much clothes for my doll @u@) a few months back.

I definitely want to add more dolls into my group in the future though, when I have the funds to do so. :3

    18. I'm broke and I think one is enough. I'd rather make my own from a scratch if I wanted another one.

    19. I love my Impldoll girl; I really and truly do. Being my first BJD after so long of waiting and more patience than I knew I possessed, nothing could ever take her place in my heart or collection, especially not another doll. But just looking at her stand there all by herself with a limited set of places for good photos of a mermaid-like doll where I live, she's beginning to look a little lifeless. I'd like to own another doll just to keep her company, and spice things up in the hobby for myself once again.

With a sculpt and character in mind, the only thing left I have to do is to save up.

    20. Honestly when I first started in this hobby I really wanted to have like a million dolls... but now that I've actually gotten a piece of my first doll I have figured out that I don't want anymore than just one. I want one doll so I don't have to feel guilty if I end up loving one more than the other. I want one doll to pamper and love and carry around with me and develop. It's weird to think that I've made a 180 entirely, going from wanting a lot of dolls to wanting only one. But hey, what can ya do, eh?
