1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Gender Preference?

Feb 16, 2017

    1. This is an interesting topic, tbh! I sort of thought about this today... or more in a round about way how my opinions on the gender/gender expression of my dolls have changed since I started. I don’t know if I’ve “matured” or got more in touch with myself, lol!

I’m a straight ciswoman but, I’ve never felt truly comfortable with calling myself 100% straight though uhh where I live growing up, you were straight or gay, bi did not exist. I was quite adamant about only having cismale dolls, with most of them being homosexual. I do think that could have been born of my interest in yaoi at the time. Now, I’m more open to owning female sculpts and have some plans for a few.

That’s kind of a tanget but I guess this topic got me think about how I’ve viewed things over the years!

    2. Its not a question if you like dolls due to sexual orientation rather if it affects you decisions in terms of gender. Sorry for the confussion!! =) hahahah

    3. I'm a gay/lesbian woman and I only collect female dolls. My doll are mostly minis/tinies though, so It's definitely not physical attraction! But I do find male personalities incredibly uninteresting, so my dolls will live in an all-female world (living the dream lol)

    4. I prefer girl dolls. Nothing against guys, just aren't my thing to collect. For me dressing up is half the fun so I want my dolls to be able to easily swap and share clothes. Some people like to dress their boys like girls but again, it isn't really my thing. I'd rather have a group of bad ass ladies.

    5. I have just girls and non-humans because they can wear absolutely anything and look great! No fashion limits!

    6. I have both. But most of my dolls are males.

    7. I haven't really found a female sculpt that I like enough to purchase so, I guess my preference right now would be male dolls. Just completely fall head over heels for them:love

    8. All my dolls are males and I have no plans to buy any females, and I think it's mostly because I've grown up playing with so many female dolls that having males with such distinctive features is really exciting to me. That's not to say I dislike females, I really enjoy what people do with their girls! In the end, it all comes down to preference, as the topic says. :)

    9. The males are so pretty :D So that's the one I'm getting

    10. I have nothing against female dolls, there is a fair share that I have seen that are absolutely gorgeous. That being said I find myself more attracted to the male sculpts since I just have an admiration for them! I do not see myself buying a female doll in the near future, but maybe I will someday if the right one comes along!

    11. I have more girls than boys. Currently, I have two boys and three girls, and saving up for another girl.

So my boys are slightly outnumbered. I think they’re all lovely, though!

    12. First time I got a BJD I was focused on boys due to a yaoi obsession lol. Took a break for a few years mostly due to finances not allowing for big purchases and when I recently got back, my first two purchases were girl dolls. When a Resinsoul costs less than a fancy Integrity fashion doll, I'll go with a BJD that I can get prettied up just as easily. Will be getting a boy or two in the future but right now I'm focusing on getting ALL the Resinsoul colors in different girls lol.

    13. Girl dolls. I like to see,and can appreciate boy dolls, but have no particular interest in owning one. Can relate better to girls,I guess, and love the styling options.

    14. It's girls for me. I just love them. But I just can't resonate with male bjds - although I find them beautiful in an aesthetic sense, I can't imagine getting them for myself.

    15. I have both a girl and a boy but I prefer my boy doll more and I believe this is because as somebody else has stated, that growing up I would always play with girl dolls, so its nice to own a boy doll.

    16. my aesthetic preference is girls but I somehow ended up owning a boy first, no idea why ^^;;

    17. When I came in hobby I prefer girls but now boys is my big passion.

    18. I prefer a boy but I consider a girl is small suze( kid body) with boob.

    19. I have 3 girls, 5 boys and one nonbinary doll. I love the look of female dolls, in fact I find female dolls more beautiful and appealing but I feel pretty intimidated about starting one from scratch and styling her just right, whereas my male dolls are shelling characters so they don't require as much thought. It's also a financial choice for me, because if I bought dolls for pleasure I'd have a more balanced ratio, but right now I buy dolls based on which personality I'm shelling, so I limit myself. Plus, as others have mentioned I grew up with barbies so I've already had the phase of styling and customizing female dolls.

    20. I find that I prefer female sculpts, although the next one at the top of my wishlist is a boy since if I'm still feeling the hobby when my first doll arrives I wanna shell my DnD character as him.
