1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Gender Preference?

Feb 16, 2017

    1. There are a lot of beautiful male sculpts out there, but I can't help falling in love with the girls. :sweat

I have 11 dolls - 3 boys and 8 girls. I'd like to get another boy at some point, but I need to find one I'm in love with!

    2. I like girl dolls!
(And, for the sake of inclusion, non-binary dolls would be great too.)

I'm a guy, and guy dolls are just... meh, for that reason. I'm interested in dolls because I can use them to stretch my creative boundaries, not because I want more T-shirts and short hair and joggers but in miniature.
Dolls are one of my main ways to experiment with femininity (because my own masculinity is a tad bit weak since I came out and I prefer not to jumpstart my own dysphoria), so getting male dolls seems counterproductive to my goals. I'll admire them from afar, but I can't really see myself buying one. I'd like to sculpt a couple, but there aren't any on the market that I can't live without.

    3. Pretty much all my dolls are girls, I just feel like I have a lot more freedom style-wise than I do with boys. That being said I don't try to collect girl dolls exclusively! More guys in my collection would be nice and I really shouldn't hold myself back style-wise when my dolls are guys.

    4. I only have girls\women. Somehow I have no interest in male dolls whatsoever, I never "fall in love" with them and I don't have any male characters I want to shell. I can appreaciate male dolls other people own, but it never makes me want to buy one too.

    5. I have one boy doll and the rest are female. I find it a lot harder to bond and enjoy my male doll. I think because a big part of the hobby for me is buying outfits for my dolls and changing their clothes, and well guys are a little bit harder to shop for :P

    6. I more drawn to girls guess it has to do with dressing them in cute clothes, not saying boys are not cute!

    7. I prefer girls a lot more, I guess I feel more connected to them and like being able to dress them up in cute fashions. I do sometimes like male dolls but it's very rare compared to females.

    8. When 1st started i told myself only girls! Cos i dont want to buy any boys clothes! Last year my birthday, my bf gift me a volks boy and now i have 5 boys, lol

    9. No preference. But I would welcome more non-muscular bodies for adult males :( Or chubby dolls, but that's for a whole another topic.

    10. I prefer girls. You can do so much characters with them, cloth them in so many different styles and I simply like their aesthetics. I don't know why, but I have my difficulties with male BJDs. I'm currently on planning on one, but I never really did that with my girls. My girls came to me, because I loved their faces and once arrived they told me who they are.

    11. I’m a fan of both genders but like, I like more girl dolls but I LOVE a specific few boy dolls.

    12. I actually prefer male dolls, but I have an equal amount of each. My dolls are mostly straight couples in relationships, so there is a girl for each boy.

    13. There are male sculpts I like, but I prefer girls. The clothes are more fun and the shoes are adorable.

    14. I prefer girls rather than boys. I don't now why, maybe I prefer female character? And they are easier to clothed in my opinion.

    15. I have a strange thing that all my girls are MSD and boys SD, for some reason I am never attracted by MSD boys or SD girls (most by the bodies), I don't know why... funny enough I broke this curse last week purchasing my first SD girl head... but now I am struggling to like any bodies for her...
      oh geez :kitty1

    16. Even ratio for the most part.

    17. I'm more drawn to boys than girls, especially msd boys. Nevertheless my first bjd is a girl XD

    18. In my 10 years in this hobby, I have owned one male doll. I prefer female dolls overall.

    19. I greatly prefer female dolls, I guess because I personally think they're cuter. Also, with SDs, I'm a lesbian so I just like looking at boobs.....

    20. I have very few male dolls; it's not that I don't like them! I just seem to be more drawn to the girl dolls.
