It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Gender Preference?

Feb 16, 2017

    1. I've found that I like the boys more for their faces and the girls more for their clothing/accessories. Then again, I'm just starting out so maybe this will change in the future...but I do find myself mentally nitpicking more girl BJDs for their appearances while falling in love with boy after boy after boy...sigh.

Maybe the fact that I'm a girl too affects me? There's that theory about people being faster to befriend others with similar and/or pleasing features to them. Hahaha~

    2. I have all girl dolls but I honestly do it out of functional perference. I only know how to sew girl clothes. Maybe one day my perference will change.

    3. Initially I only wanted one male bjd doll... but one turned into two and then turned into four male dolls. Thought I had finally settled with a cute male doll family but, during the waiting period, I fell in love with a female doll and ordered her. The funny thing is that while she was the last to be ordered, she was the first to arrive. And so now she gets to be pampered by all the boys... and also by me who buys her all these cute clothes.

    4. I collect in bjds only boys!! It’s what interests me & what I like to collect

    5. I Have So many girls. I'm working on getting boys though however it's so much easier to get the styles i want for girls over boys.

    6. I have many more boys than girls. I just find more boy sculpts that I like, I guess. I'm also way pickier about female bodies; I find that a lot of them are oversexualized, and that's not for me. (There are oversexualized male bodies too, of course, but I feel like it's not as many, and I avoid them as well.)

    7. I prefer girls because I only know how to combine the girls' clothes.
BTW, is monster body no gender? haha It's very very adorable and unique /////

    8. I'm drawn towards females for mostly humanoid dolls, and all genders equally for animals/anthros/creatures. Hard to say why. I think I find it more appealing to dress up the fun, interesting curves of the female form, and there seems to be more variety with female body types amongst dolls than with the male bodies!

    9. I prefer male dolls. There's not really a good reason for that -- it's just what I've always liked. I'm sure I could figure out a reason if I sat and thought about it for a long time, but it doesn't really bother me one way or another.

    10. I have boys, even the unisex bodies I have are boys. Guess I'm just boy crazy haha
As far as the why this is? No clue, maybe because I'm a girl, I want to look at boys all day.

    11. I'm definitely more into boys for BJDs. But funnily I like only girl Pullips. I think it depends on the doll type. I find girl BJDs slightly more erie... Hahaha it's funny coming from me cuz I know plenty of ppl who think all dolls are creepy.

    12. I personally prefer 1/4 boys. The girls in general aren't that appealing to me (Minus Doll Chateau, but I love creepy dolls in general), and the larger male dolls aren't my type either.

    13. I've only had interest in girls. Most boy sculpts don't tickle me.

    14. I tend to favor boy sculpts over girls, but girls have all of the nice clothes and wigs... I'm thinking about picking up a girl doll for dress up outside of my characters. I'm not really sure why I'm so drawn to the males outside of my OCs that I want to shell. I just am, haha. That's good enough for me.

    15. Only ever interested in women. Men just look.... odd as dolls, for some reason. I've seen a few facesculpts that are men that appeal to me, but not enough to make me want one.

    16. I'm a women enthusiast. I love male sculpts as well and they can look gorgeous, but somehow the male dolls are the dolls I tend to neglect :sweat

Maybe it would work with a girlish boy character. I want to try this in any case! :dance

    17. I prefer male, but then there's such pretty outfits for girls that I find it very conflicting.

    18. When I started this hobby, my mind was set to "I want to buy only male dolls" mode. I admired the more realistic bodies of the iplehouse dolls, the Idealian 72, and the Nobility doll male body.

My first doll was a ResinSoul Feng male, but a couple of months after I bought him I bought an Iplehouse Aurora and it was like some floodgates opened. From that point on my collection had more female than male dolls. It still does and I don't know if it will change sometime in in the future.

    19. I love both girl dolls and boy dolls equally but I suppose for my collection I have a slight preference for girls considering it fits my aesthetic better. When it comes to dolls I myself find most attractive though that's definitely the boys! (drools over Volks!William)

    20. My collection is predominantly female at present with some genderless sculpts thrown in. I have owned male dolls in the past and currently have a floating male head in need of a body. I haven't made a conscious decision to avoid male dolls, I just find choosing them to be more of a struggle.
