1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Gender Preference?

Feb 16, 2017

    1. I can't say why but I prefer the male dolls. I have only one female doll and at most would only ever have one more. The female I do have is a butch warrior woman and the other female doll I would consider getting would be the partner of Sir Thomas, Lady Edith. I am much more drawn to male sculpts and all the characters I have wanted to shell in dolls are men.

    2. This might sound weird but i like girls more often but with a smaller bust so they can pass more as male if i decide to cross play!

    3. I'm heavily biased towards boys and men for my dolls. Not exactly sure why

    4. I tend to prefer male dolls. I do have a few female sculpts on my wish list though.

    5. I like boys better, but girls are easier to dress. So I have both

    6. I currently own only male dolls. However recently I have been thinking of buying a girl doll again, since I somehow find them easier to dress and I genereally have more fun making/buying girl outfits.

    7. SD - 4 boys (2 on order), 1 girl (don't want another girl)
MSD - 5 boys, 6 girls (looks like a need another boy!)
YOSD - 2 boys, 1 girl (I want one more, just can't decide on her.)
1/8 - 1 girl (but kind of unisex, no definition) sold as girl.
1/12 - 1 girl (but kind of unisex, no definition) sold as baby.

I definitely prefer the boys in the larger dolls, but everything else is pretty much even.

    8. I don't care all too much, although it's partly because I'm completely comfortable putting girls in menswear and boys in dresses and that sort of thing, so I don't mind too much either way. I tend to lean more towards feminine dolls, but boy or girl doesn't matter, and so far, my first doll is a boy, and the second doll I plan on having is a girl.

    9. I own more girls then I do boys so.. I love girls more! I'm not completely sure why I like girls more then boys, maybe its because I know more about being a girl? I love them both I just fall in love with more girl dolls then boys. :)

    10. Men and boys all the way. I have just one anthro cat girl -- so I usually don't count her -- my elves/humanoid dolls are all men. One of my pet dolls is gender neutral so far, because I wasn't able to agree with my self upon the character's sex, but they are supernatural being, so it's not much of an issue.

I'm not sure why. Most of my OCs and favourite mythology/book/movie characters and historical figures are men -- albeit these who broke social norms in some form. But esthetic wise it's most possibly because boy dolls have more varied and stronger features. I actually like some girl sculpts as long as they have outstanding faces.
Another factor is I'm not feminine, have too many behaviours etc. usually ascribed to men by our society. Except having dolls, of course:) That's considered to be very feminine hobby. So these things are probably all connected.

    11. Girls 100%! All four of my dolls are female. I do sort of plan to have a male one day but that'll be far off in the future, if ever.

    12. I prefer males! I really don't have a particular reason to only pick boys, but when I create characters they are always male characters. And i just prefer making clothes for male dolls. I do have 2 females and they are still very gorgeous.

    13. I have 6 girls and 1 boy. I love female characters, most of my friends and people I admire are women, so it makes sense that girls would dominate my collection. I started out assuming I'd have a pretty even distribution, but so far it hasn't shaken out that way. I do have two more project boys I'm working on, but one of them is genderqueer and the other one us just a doll with no character at the moment and I'm not sure I'll keep him. I'd like more boys but I just keep being drawn to female sculpts and/or coming up with female characters.

    14. Atm I only own girls, but I want to buy my first boy soon. Would love Doll Leaves Troy in my Collection!

    15. I'm only interested in male dolls... but I'm a total fujoshi and I got into this hobby to shell out my fav BL characters, so I suppose that's natural. :D

    16. I wanted boy dolls only at first. Especially Dollshe boys! Then I saw Supiadoll Rosy and I knew if I wanted a girl doll it would be her. Now I have her but I don’t know if I will get another girl for a while.

    17. Girls. I admire boys and gender neutral/fluid characters that other people have but I prefer to have girls and feminine presenting dolls myself. I find them more interesting to think about when Coming up with their characters and attractive to look at when they’re on display.

    18. All the dolls that I have ordered so far have turned out to be male. I just seem to connect with them and get more excited about add male dolls to my collection. I’m actually a bit sad I don’t want female dolls more since there’s so many cute female outfits and not as many cute male outfits.

    19. I prefer girls, but my next two will be boys and then I'll have an even mix! I like making clothes for girls more. Guys clothing tends to feel boring to make(for the styles I like at least).

    20. I seem to be drawn to male dolls and sculpts more than female ones. I don't know why. currently my collection is pretty balanced between them. Though with my hopeful dolly plans I will have more males! The muscular bodies are just to pretty not to have many of them. <3
