so, i wondered if someone could help me with how soom re-releases their dolls? i reeeeaally want a vega boy someday. does anyone know how that works?

wish I could help you orphan, but I hope someone else can answer your question... I have not noticed any rhyme or reason so far as to when and what Soom decides to re-release things.

Buuuut, one thing that definitely helps for sure is when many people request a re-release of the same doll. Doesn't assure that it will happen fast, but if there is a strong and steady demand for a particular doll, they do eventually offer it again.

With this latest freechoice thing, they even added a few more things because enough people requested that they be added. That event was limited to Gems and Idealians though.

The last Mecha Angel order window was mid-August. Before that June and February.

 

The mechas are up for sale every two months for five days; they should be up in mid-October. Male Vega has always been on the list (normal skin), at least for the last two times it has.

Hello, all! So, I thought I'd FINALLY share my Sabik, Mr. Brightside again here. The first and only time I've shown him is when he was blank and right out of the box. It took me almost a year to get up the nerve to do his faceup. He was one of my grails so I just didn't want to mess him up! And then I had to wait for his wig, because he didn't feel right without the correct one. Finally, though, here he is. I hope you like him!



Now, to get his body to cooperate with me. I tried to get him to stand and it was like when Bambi was on ice!

 

Mr. Brightside looks great! As for standing, I'm a huge fan of those pegs you can put in the hip joint. I used hot-glue to stick them into the top of the thigh, so they don't fall out. They really help lock those legs in place.

 

Wow! All I can say is that this guy is absolutely STUNNING!!!

Beautiful dolls in this thread! My mom just bought a Bellatrix, and she's stunning! She can't find shoes that fit, so if someone can help me out with shoes that fit the girl Mecha Angels, you'd help me with my holiday shopping!!!

 

wally - most of Dollmore Model F shoes fit MA female.

 

While stuck at home during Sandy, I had a chance to complete a project I've been thinking about for a while. We all know that our beloved Mecha Angels are not the most proportionate when it comes to hands and feet. While their elegant little hands can may be attractive to some, their small feet become a liability when it comes to standing. My MA Sabik, Yaret, is fully wired and has silicone discs in his hips, and still wouldn't stand without a stand or some kind of support. Part of the problem is a very high center of gravity for such a hight, but the small feet with weak ankle joints are definitely not helping.

I've been eyeing the Dollshe Rhythmos feet for quite some time, drawn by their graceful lines and elegant sculpture, hoping that their proportion may fit a MA. Anyway, I got a pair and built a joint out of Milliput (any epoxy self-curing clay will do).

I didn't try to be too neat, simply painted the joint with acrylic to sort of match the Dollshe Oriental skin tone with sort of matches the old Soom Normal. Like I said, I didn't try to make it perfect, because the ankle joint is always hidden under the bottom of the trouser.

In any case, the result is well above my expectations: my MA stands on his own in a variety of natural poses, the feet are beautiful and perfectly proportionate, the range of motion of the ankle joint is very graceful and natural.

Oh, the Mecha Angels have pants on in the pic because they were the free gifts that came as the promotion that was going on when I ordered. Yay for free stuff!

I really liked the heels so I thought I'd pick them up and use them on another doll as the character that Bellatrix assumes is not the heel wearing type, but they are really huge! They seem proportionately large even fore the Mecha Angel body.



And I have no idea what these pegs that Soom sent are, but they came in Antares box. Anyone know what they are for?:

 

they are for the hip joint, there should be some little holes they fit into in the hip socket to fix certain poses, they are not essential though

I think the pegs are shown in the manual, but I can't remember. They are indeed for the thigh sockets.
The high heel feet are pretty great! I put a pair on my Super Gem boy since they're the same size ball joint.

 

Sorry to cross-post - does anyone know anything about the release of Mecha Angel Christmas kits? I'm having a job finding out any information and there seems to be no reference to them on the Mecha Angel site, apart from the posts in the Notices section.

 

I'm thinking the "for five days" is the 15th - 20th, so they'll likely be up then. Just a guess though.

 

This is a personal curiosity: did Soom ever released a MA in white resin?

 

I thought there were still MA' in white skin ?

They might have been discontinued if there are no more. When I bought my Saiph I am pretty sure there was an option to get him in WS.... ?
