I asked Soom if there will be a white skin option for the new MA orders but they answerd they won't sell them in ws
I must ask if in the future they'll release ws versions.

So, they definitely released them in WS. It is a shame that WS is not always an option for the mecha angels with Soom.

I really can't understand why they have to limit the orders to normal skin only.
I can understand the limits in the use of tanned resin, that is more complicated to work with, but white resin! Come on
Anyway before the 15th I'll try to find a Sabik here on DOA. If I don't find any I'll have to take a hard decision...

Thnk you, aernath, someone has quoted a similar date in the company news thread. I would love to get a Sabik.

 

I know! I love WS MAs! I would really love a Bellatrix and a Betel, but the NS just isn't right for the characters I would want them for. I'd love an Antares in WS, too. I have one in NS, but he's still sitting in his box blank because I keep hoping he'll come available in the much more suitable WS.

Pestering Soom about it is a good idea. If they get enough requests they might just offer them again!

 

Soom answered my question about restocking ws Mecha Angels:

"Unfortunately, cream white Mecha Angel dolls have been discontinued.
And, we do not have any plan to put them on sale again...
We are so sorry for the annoyance... (_ _) "

I can't describe my sadness

 

I still think there may be a chance for it at some point in the future if interest for them picks up enough.

Problem is that the Mecha Angel line doesn't get nearly as much attention and business as the Gem and Idealian ones do, so it would be tough to kick up the interest.

 

Sadly they've taken a pretty firm stance on this for a while. I've been asking if they would do another CW Saiph for years, and the answer is always the same that they don't plan to & that they are discontinued. I think they must have had trouble with the CW resin and the Mecha Angel molds, because it seems so arbitrary otherwise. Just glad that I have my Sabik in Cream White, because normal skin would definitely not have worked for Mr. Have at all...

Anyone know what the odds are of Antares being available in xmas kit form? *A*

He's the one MA sculpt that really grabbed me from the moment I first saw his promo pictures(he looks so huggable omg), but I could never figure out their release schedule. I'm really hoping I can get him in kit form(and saving a few dollars by having him shipped unassembled is always a bonus, lol). Is the clothing/accessories also restocked on a bi-monthly basis? Or is it pretty much a "Once it's gone, it's gone"?

I was told that Mecha Angel orders opened every 2 months, but they have not reopened orders for them since August. I don't understand what's going on with their Christmas thing either... I mean there's supposed to be Christmas kits for Mecha Angels but they still haven't mentioned a single word yet about when and what dolls are going to be available. Probably best to ask on their Q&A board.

I don't know anything about clothes unfortunately. I never keep tabs on them, but I don't think limited edition things are ever intended to be sold again. Not sure about non-limited.

 

Yeah. I'm hoping the kits will miraculously pop up around the 15th, based on what was said a couple of pages ago in this thread.

I love Antares dearly, but always assumed he was a Limited Edition or something. So, really hoping I'll get lucky with him in kit form since Soom made mention of MA kits. Not overly likely? But hey, a girl can dream!

And, I'll be honest, with how MA doesn't even seem to have a stable release schedule unlike Idealian(which has a schedule posted on that page), and The Gem which has fairly regular releases? I've pretty much no choice but to snag Antares the moment I find him for sale on their site since it's impossible to tell when he'll be available again. Especially if they release the MAs in random selection groupings every few months instead of guaranteed specific offerings.

 

I think it's unfair from Soom to make people wait their doll releases for so long. I have bought two dolls from another companies during this period. May be they have financial difficulties? Does anyone have some financial information about the company? Their comments that they have not decided.., that the information will be given later seem a little bit uncertain.

 

I'm certain that Soom is not having financial problems. It's just that the Mecha Angel line is far less popular than Gem or Idealian. Rosette and NeoAngelRegion even less so and their releases are even spottier than Mecha Angels because of that.

I think a big part of it is that the Mecha Angel bodies just aren't very good sculpts. The heads are fantastic, but the bodies need a serious redo.

 

Mmn. I can see how the hip-level joint/separation could be really annoying when the doll starts to loosen, along with the fact that the body is mostly leg, means that it's probably hard to carry, too. Makes me wonder if I'm missing something else detail/structure-wise that'd make the body sculpt on the "bad" side. XD; I think the little pegs for fixing the hip joints in certain poses are a pretty cool idea, though.

Is the bod heavy enough that it causes the loosening of the elastic like I've heard the Iple EID male bods can?

 

It just isn't very good at posing, really, or at least that was my experience with it. Legs are pretty wobbly at the knees and ankles, and the hands and feet are disproportionately small as they're the same hands and feet that old supergem bodies used. I just didn't find it an enjoyable body to work with and won't order any other MA because of how irritating a time I had with that body :/. It's a shame as they're really nice head sculpts, wish they offered them separate to the bodies. Though I speak of the male body, never encountered the female one so I don't know what idiosyncrasies it has.

 

Oh wow. That's really good to know about the man-bod. Mostly because that's what I'd be looking at ordering. x.x;

I know they advertise them as being supposedly "ideal" and "good posing", but it's always good to know that someone's experiences don't quite match up with that.

Yeah, their headsculpts are gorgeous. I love Antares dearly, but it sounds like I could easily wind up needing a different body for him if I did manage to order one. XD;

Soom's big bodies have never exactly been renowned for posing, like Iplehouse, pretty dolls, not so great joints. Something I hadn't mentioned in that thread that also bothered me was the elbow joints, both male and female. Even though they are double jointed, the elbow joint is not long enough for the arm to bend fully, so I can't even achieve all the poses I'd like simply arm-wise.

For me though, it's mostly about the shape of the bodies. When I purchased them, I knew the sculpts weren't great, but they would be fine clothed. But as I was blushing them and seeing the details up close, the bad anatomy got to me more and more. Fortunately neither of these characters show much skin though so doesn't ruin my plans for them.

The things you see in owner pics that you don't really get to appreciate in promo pics.

I can definitely see what you mean about the body, though. The way those knees bend back on the man-bod's like....Kind of worrisome-looking. XD;

 

And then some of us just really like the long and lanky MA guys. My Sabik poses just fine for me.
