1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

General Mecha Angel discussion thread!

    1. Linzabeth, in my opinion, Sabik is quite challanging to take photographs, far more than Vega. To me, each angle brings different expressions, it's so much fun to stare at him xD
      just me anyhow

    2. True. Ive noticed that depending on the angle he can either be smiling or frowning. It's endearing :3

    3. Here is my Steampunk style Mecha female:

    4. I'm kind of dreaming of getting a MA, but I always wondered:
How do you carry them around? :P (Are there any carrier bags big enough?)

    5. I can fit my Vega in one of DollZone's larger carry bags. Soom also makes one, I believe.

    6. I carry my Sabik like a military parade rifle, his head peeking at folks over my shoulder... no bag. ;)

    7. Sooms largest carrier works well. I have the earlier version in black and red, and it is one of my favourite carriers, I have no problem to put my Sabic, one other SD doll and their stands in this bag.

    8. I just found out that the payment for my sabik has been received, :o it's shipping out Monday. It's my first doll and I'm so excited! He won't be sitting around completely nekkid when I get him but I still need to procure a few basics so that he's appropriately dressed.
Currently shopping for shoes and trying to find the WIDTH measurement for the foot. It eludes me, can anyone help?

    9. Haaahaaaa! this is so to the point XDDD

Btw that space jacket is really cool. It`s from Soom, right?

Linzabeth, I have nothing but adoration for the sculpt itself, but the body is another story :P MIne stands best in boots that cover ankles and support them. And he is wearing 16 mm eyes example, so I suggest trying several sizes :)

As for the carrier... hehe, I sometimes carry my Ferrand in Dollzone MSD carrier, folded in half in the hip joint <.<

    10. The mecha body drove me to insanity, which is a shame as I'd likely have more mechas if I got on with the body better. My Sabik is my faveorite doll and I'm rather partial to Vega and Corvi. I finally swapped my Sabik head to a Spiritdoll Proud body and am much, much happier. It's slightly big on the body sadly but I consider this a small deal compared to how much the mecha body irratated me x). Might sand his face slimmer [particuarly those jawbones] so it works better but...it's perfect as is.

Interesting that you describe your Sabik as unflappable, above the fray but with a hint of a smile, Aernath. Mine just looks most unimpressed with the world, with the occasional scowl thrown in, finished with the odd pensive look when veiwed out the corners of your eyes. :|

    11. Dedra - lovely photo of a gorgeous man! Those 16mm look good! I think mine wears 14mm. And yes, the silver outfit is from Soom. I wasn't sure about getting it, but he assured me he would look good in it, and so he does. ;)

Salvagore - I love how they can all be so very different, yet the same sculpt. :) One of my very favorite things in this hobby. On my "someday" list, is Elf Sabik. Just to see if I can flap the unflappable. :mwahaha An elf twin, pestering the human one... heh

    12. I wasnt a big fan of the body when I first received my male Denab... but I soon figured out
the problem was the head size being to small for the body. SO I set out for a larger head.
I was offered a twigling/PatL custom head in the larger size i needed for the female
Mecha body I had. So.... I sold all my Mecha heads and kept the bodies for the custom
sized heads. The necks are so long on the Mecha bodies and the chin area is small on the head...
so the two don't go well together (imo)but i love em now! ( :

    13. It's interesting that you had such trouble, Salvagore. I had my Vega standing barefoot and unsupported for a photoshoot, and he stood like a rock. I was so impressed, as a lot of my smaller dolls don't stand nearly so well. I thought for sure he'd fall, but no. Maybe it's because he's secondhand; non-default string tension.

    14. As tygati observes, the MA body needs good stringing (and good strings), but as long as I remember to check his strings every now and then he really stands exceptionally well. If you are not using boots (which always helps a lot) I recommend to hotglue or use silicon plates in the ankle joint.

    15. Salvagore - do you happen to have any pictures of the hybrid? I`d love to see. I`ve tried mine on Super gem and Mega gem. MG wouldn`t be half bad, if only I wasn`t used to him as a tall, skinny dude >.< the difference was unacceptably big.

aernath - thanks! Your twin idea is intriguing :D

Definitely some support in the ankles is in order. I don`t like kips, as they seem too thick to me, but a thin layer of hot glue is perfect.

    16. Aernath- Oh yes it's infinatly amazing how many different looks people get to work with a single sculpt! The Sabik one is so very versitile on top of all that, I think. The idea of contrasting twins would be amazing to see executed!

Dedra- I'll take photos of the hybrid soon(tm)- it's by no means perfect proportion wise, as said. Wigs go some way to helping to hide that though. The resin does match very closely, it could be blushed the body slightly pinker/warmer if I really felt the need to but it's the sort of colour difference you'd have to look for. I've had my Sabik three years now though so I have no idea how well Spiritdoll matches newer soom NS batches.

As to the body itself it was more a combination of niggleing annoyances for me. The posing was annoying me, even with boots+hot glue, but that alone wouldn't have been enough to get me to change bodies. Clotheing+proportion next to my other dolls did it in for me. The mecha body itself is very lovely looking, all willowy limbed and fine muscles. Such eyecandy whenever browsing this thread or people's galleries! Even if I am terrible about leaving comments in them, normally. >.< It's just a shame there's so many less male mechas who are not Sabik, as they are equally full of potential.

    17. My Vega female can stand in high heels outside on the dirt driveway in a semi windy day...
The body was re-strung by the previous owner. SO, I received her already able to stand like a rock.
My hybrid can also stand in the same heels.

    18. So, the key is to buy them secondhand then! *laugh* Or just remember to adjust string tension after arrival. Come to think of it, Soom sends their SuperGems in need of restringing as well.

I wonder what size elastic Mecha Angels need for proper tension.. 4mm? 5mm?

    19. These look great! I have a question though. Where did you get the high heeled bare feet? I know that they make the molded heeled feet for the Mecha Angel girls. I wanted some really nice arched feet for my Deneb that I'm getting so that she can wear a lot of different styles.

    20. i guess from Soom..They came with both my females. I think i have an extra set... i will check for you.
