1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

girlfriends and your dolls

Jan 4, 2007

    1. i would love to meet a boy who is into dolls because i have trouble relating to "normal" ppl as my brain does not work in the same way socially to most of the population and i really have trouble making friends because of it. if i could find a boy who was into dolls it would help so much cause it would give me somehting to relate to with them making the whole socializing this SOOOO much easier. :)

    2. I'm a girl who finds it interesting to find what girls reactions are to my dolls... I found the key is to find a girl who likes them too!

    3. I've been trying to get my boyfriend to buy a doll, actually. He's slowly melting. Not that he ever thought they were weird or anything, it was just something he didn't think of doing for himself; but now he seems somewhat interested.

    4. [offtopic]
Not really sure why i read a lot of.. MY BOYFRIEND... this is a threat for MALEs that have dolls and how their GF's think about it.
For girls there is a special threat about boys/boyfriends and your dolls.

:/ I would like to read things guys bump into owning dolls.
So im a bit disappointed there are so many women taking over this threat ~__~ [/offtopic]

There are 2 Male bjd owners on the dutch forum.
One is.. socially disturbed and i am having a hard time connecting with him[he's like 6 years younger then me so.. that is a bit weird too].
The other is a fine easy going relaxed and nice guy,

Last time we had to walk somewhere at a meeting..
people were straing at us.. group of girls..one guys.. trillion dolls.
Then he made up this whole thing... you garls are my Harem.. and i can't have babies so we all have dolls... yes!

    5. my girlfriend laughed at me ............and she's still doin' it !!

    6. Hey don't forget about us females that have girlfriends too! ;)

    7. My best mate, milkeye, :) is a bjd collector herself. She is the one who lurked my into the bjd world. I am the one who dragged my feet for six years until I got my first bjd. Love you, sis! :) :) :) :)

    8. :bump bump a de bump :bump

    9. I would love to meet a guy into BJD too. Maybe his and my BJD's could get togeather and date *laughs*

    10. I'd love it if my fiance was more into the dolls. I've sort of gotten him part-way interested -- the centaur ones fascinate him, and the ones with uncannily realistic faces. He's also an artist, and seems to be more interested in the process of creativity in them, whether the face-ups, making clothes, or sculpting them, rather than the dolls themselves. Of course, he's also said he wants to build one, but out of discarded parts of VCRs. I think he should.

On a semi-related tangent, I work in a toy store, and get to see lots of children interacting with the things we sell. And it seems like while mostly it's girls that play with dolls, there are quite a few boys who do as well. Usually their parents stop them, saying no, that's for girls, and you're not a girl. This always makes me terribly sad. Taking care of dolls always seemed to be teaching children to care for a family, how to be nurturing, how to care for younger siblings ... and it seems like most boys are being denied that particular method. (I also object to people saying their daughters can't play with the trucks and trains and science equipment. Grrrrr.)

    11. I, too, would love to meet a guy who (at least) understands why I'm so... enamored... by these wonderful dolls. ^^ Just that alone would probably make me happy for days. haha. xD

    12. I am a guy, although I am only 13, and I LOVE BJD's! They are just the cutest little things! Well....not all of them are little....lol~
But actually, I think I would feel awkward having either a girl OR a boy bjd....but I have yet to see one in real life so I can't necassarily say...

    13. I'd personally love to get some of my male friends into ABJD, I think the artistic aspect of them would suit some of my friends so much! Currently my best friend's nephew is interested in them but hes young and dosent have any money to buy one. He was telling us how he wanted one to look like some kind of dark angel. very cool. :)

I'd love to find a boyfriend into BJD's tho... we could take them on photoshoot dates! LOL

    14. I know some of the guy collecters on here are pretty awesome.

And if I ever got a boyfriend, I'm pretty sure it'd be amazingly great if he liked dolls, too. ^^

But even so, guys collecting dolls is pretty much saying, in the words of my good friend Tory, 'I'm manly enough to collect dolls'...even though Danny is MINE! ^^

    15. I had a guy friend who was going to buy an MSD for use in his computer projects at school. Unfortunately, college out of state meant very little left over cash...

As for my boyfriend, he likes my dolls^^ Even remembers their names. Sometimes he asks how they are doing. He sat through four and a half hours of doll meet without one complaint (talk about impressive!). They interest him, but I'm not sure he'd ever own one. Probably he'll just mess with mine XD

    16. Most of the girls I know think my doll is creepy or that I am for talking about Kori like he's a realy human...

      I don't see a girlfriend for me in the near future :lol: ;;

    17. I don't have a GF, and I don't have many female friends. I credit that to the fact that I don't keep many friends to begin with. X_X as for my female friends who know about my dolls, however:
One knows her by name, and has spoken directly to her via IM
One knows about her, and wants to get one of her own
One is intrigued. she said to me once "I don't know what people see about these dolls, but there must be something special about them that we won't know about until we have one." (I know that to be all too true now. ^.^)
and the last one has no clue about the dolls, because she is a very religous person and would probably be a bit creeped out at first by the thought of it all.
neither of the friends who know about my girl are in any way confused or uncomfortable about the thought, but that's probably because they are also interested in the hobby. who knows. I might tell my other friends about her in the near future so that I can see how they react to her.

    18. I'd like to meet a guy who shared my dollie love so I could talk to him about it and we could shop for dolls together. n_n Or as long as they can appreciate, if not love, I'm still happy. <3

    19. The only thing wrong I see with a BF or S.O. having dolls is when their dolls collection of clothes is nicer than yours and you are the one responsible for finding him most of his dolls really cool outfits. Scored a holy grail yesterday with a Moogie corset for his girl, not that my girl would be caught dead in revealing clothing, but now he wants a black slinky skirt to go with it. Oy, go find it yourself. :doh His girl has gotten some hot outfits. I think it's great if a partner has an interest in dolls... no matter what gender the partner is. It's still a beautiful hobby to be enjoyed by couples.

    20. If a guy is into normal dolls, I see no problem with it. When guys are into the ultra-huge busted DDs and always dressing their dolls in sexysexywear, it says ... a LOT to me. And none of it good.

      Sorry guys. Honest truth.

Here in Japan I do see a lot of guys who are into dolls, but while there are normal ones, there are the ones who seem to prefer the aesthetic of "I'm wearing watermelons under my string bikini" with their dolls. Yeah, that's just ... no. It's not being jealous of the doll, but the fact that any guy who is using his doll as some sort of obvious sexual outlet/fantasy ... is ... creepy. At least do it in private. Come on.
