Girls Loving Girls

Nov 9, 2007

    1. I have a a few gay or bisexual boys, a straight boy, a little girl who I assume is undecided and an asexual little wraith. I happen to be straight myself and never thought myself too into yaoi but perhaps so. :sweat I don't have any adult girls but if I did I assume at least one would be a lesbian or at least bi-sexual. Those seem to be the odds in the house.

I have no qualms at all about homosexuality, I'm always at the huge pride fest here, I love seeing free love and happy couples. I wish I saw more with girl love dolls but I'm not complaining about the boys either. :D

    2. As a sometime fanfic writer, I can tell you the same proportions apply in the fanfic world. Slash fiction is almost overwhelmingly boy x boy. There's some girl x girl out there, but I'd say the ratio is probably about 20:1 in favor of the guys. I'm inclined to think it's biological-guys seem to like the idea of two girls together and girls seem to reciprocate and think two guys together are hot.

    3. Two girls loving each other is so nice :) When I get another doll, she'll be with my Yukino all the time, and they'll sit together and watch TV together and everything.

    4. I plan on having a girl/girl couple. While I'm predominately a yaoi fan, I really love a sweet girls' love story as well. Like everyone's said, just so long as the same guidelines are followed, shouldn't be a prob.

    5. I think I am finally going to have my first gay couple. I fell in love with Luna in the real skin and decided after much thought that Yur in real skin would be her ideal partner. I have their intros, their first real talk and so much more planned in my head. Of course will be sweet, well thought out and will try to avoid any nude scenes. I hope it works here and will I know be my best pairing ever. :fangirl:

    6. I love it! Girlx Girl couples are soooo cute! I love them! but I don't have any girl dolls yet, my next doll is a boy and he will be with my other boy doll. I want to get 2 girls though!

    7. I say go for it :D

    8. I'm a girl and I prefer seeing two girls together over two boys, and I'm bi. Never really expected most girls prefer seeing two guys together, but I have always been an odd one I guess XP
Personally I have trouble pairing my dollies, sure they have a will and personality, but they don't strike to me as sexually active. Maybe I'm just boring, and dolls will be dolls.

    9. Personally, the idea of Yaoi is so unappealing to me. How it gained popularity baffles me. But, as long as it makes people happy... I don't think I'm ever going to pair up dolls in romantic ways, but if I did I'd be more inclined to girls being with each other than boys.

    10. I have both slashy and het doll couples, as well a some dolls that are not in romantic relationships (though most of them do have sexual orientations). I'm not a big fan of "fluff" of any sort, no matter what the pairing, so that means most of my "romantic" photostories tend to be flat out sex and aren't really appropriate for sharing here on DoA - I put them on my private journal or on ConDoll instead.

I have two girlxgirl couples in my collection. One of them is composed a pair of women who are straight up lesbians - they do not have any sexual interest in men. The other one of them contains a woman who is bisexual but committed to her partner and considers both herself and her partner lesbians, and a woman who is physically male in every way EXCEPT for her genitalia (she was grown in a tank) and who generally considers herself a heterosexual man, though sometimes feels like she's a lesbian, and has even slept with a couple men in the past - really, she's quite confused about her gender.

Unfortunately, I do not have any photoshoots of these couples posted here, as I just haven't had the time to take pictures of them together. Maybe I'll make it my goal to do that this week.

When I was younger (9 years old onward), I was a HUGE fan of yaoi. I loved reading yaoi fanfiction, and to a lesser extent, shounen ai. However, as I've aged I've not only diversified my interests more (I now enjoy a wide range of romantic and/or sexual pairings in fanfiction and original fiction), I've also come to realize that "yaoi" and "yuri" aren't just terms used to describe the sexual pairings within a work, but they're also indicative of the style of the work itself. Things like the seme/uke trope (especially the "weeping uke"), the very common portrayal of non-consensual or dubiously-consensual sexual activity (and suggesting to straight out saying that it is a good thing!), and the classic "flowery backgrounds" seen in yaoi (and some yuri) have never really appealed to me, and I've come to understand that they are not part of ALL queer fiction. While I still tend to prefer works written by other women when it comes to things with romance or sex scenes, my tastes lean more towards "slash" now, no matter what the pairing involved is. It tends to be more realistic - though of course there are still stereotypes even within slash, they tend to be ones that don't bother me as much (the non-con and dub-con being seen as a totally valid way for people to start a relationship within the yaoi fandom really annoys me).

    11. I have all girls and it is sort of an aspiration of mine to bring more girl's love into the hobby and inspire others to do the same. I just haven't got the right couple together yet. But I am HUGELY in favor of more femaleXfemale couples in this hobby (and in fanfiction/fan culture in general!) so if you are considering a lesbian couple, I say GO FOR IT! :cake:

    12. If I ever got my female dolls they would be gay (for some reason I don't like the work lesbian). Hetero relationships just don't work for me. Everyone is free to do whatever they want with their dolls~

    13. I love both yaoi and yuri, if I ever get boys they will be a couple and if I ever get another girl I may think about pairing her with Freya. I do prefer yaoi over yuri, but maybe thats just cause I've seen/read more yaoi anime/manga. I only recently got into yaoi/yuri after watching anime clips on youtube. I like seeing both yuri and yaoi photostories.

    14. this is also something that has confused me many times before! i would love to see more female/female couples in the bjd world. :) i'm actually hoping that one day i can develop a f/f couple, right after i'm finished building up my already slowly growing family. :aheartbea

    15. Kiyakotari - You bring up a lot of the reasons why I fell right off the YAOI fandom and bounced straight into slash when I hit 13. The unequality and some of the tropes in there just disturb me, but hey, if people are happy with their kink that includes gender stereotypes, unequal relationships, and most of the time dub-con and abuse, go for it. XD

My two current complete dolls are both male, and both a couple. I want to get two other couples eventually - a het one, and a lesbian one. I'm also thinking about having a genderqueer couple. Both physically male, but both transitioning to female, or one MTF with a cisgender female. I haven't decided yet, but I know one will definitely be trans. :3 Exploring these sorts of relationships is fascinating to me, which is why I'll probably be switching things around once I get get my collection to a respectable level.... Not two full boy dolls, two floating heads, and one dismembered boy body. lol

      One thing that always irks me is that the icon system in the galleries isn't used nearly enough. It'd be so much easier to find what you're looking for! ;o;

    17. I have one girlxgirl couple in my collection. One of them is a lesbian and the other is bi and they are in a fully committed relationship. One of them is in the process of being reshelled, but once she's done you can expect to see bunches of them around here!

I also have a boyxboy couple in process and the rest of my crew (and planned crew) covers the range from asexual to a hetero married couple. I guess I'm all about diversity in my dolls, especially in their archetypes.

I'm not sure why yaoi is so popular. I only started reading a little myself out of curiosity. Maybe we've got it backwards. It could be that it's not that bjd fans are attracted to yaoi, it's that yaoi fans are attracted to bjd's...

    18. If you want to see more of something, you should quit bitching about its lack, and just go create it yourself. If you wait for the rest of the world to cater to you and fulfill you, you'll still be waiting in your coffin. Stop wasting your time complaining about it & become part of the solution.

    19. I love yuri and yaoi pretty much equally though recently I've been on more of a yuri kick because it's so hard to get ahold of. It makes me a little cranky sometimes that I'm pretty sure when I get my grown-up Delwyn, (who's really really into yuri) that I most likely won't be able to find her another yuri penpal. But! I keep hoping that yuri will explode like yaoi did because that would be so awesome.

    20. Yeah, this is pretty much it~

I think more girl couples would be cool. :3 girl+girl is really cute and I think female doll couples would look great. Maybe I'll take some slash pics with my doll some time if I can find another female volunteer.

I love boy+boy too though. XD

edit: mwahaha, one doll has become two. Maybe there will eventually be some girl slash shots from me. (Don't wait up, they're both far from photoshoot-ready..)

PS One of my favorite dolls by another owner has a shoujo-ai thing going on. It is adorable.
