Girls Loving Girls

Nov 9, 2007

    1. Well I love reading yaoi/yuri/shounen ai/shoujo ai and just about any other romance I can get my grubby little hands on but when it comes to my own dolls their love lives are very lacking. XD
None of my dolls has a partner or are looking for one. They're not gay either. Actually I think the only time the world love comes across in their conversation is to say something like "I love to hate you *smirk*"-Lucifer or "I love Mcflurry ice-cream. Yum!"-Al. XD!

As for girls on girls. Sure! why not? Actually the other day I read a really good shoujo ai story which I think might be the kinda story your looking for for your girls. It's completly tame and the story is really deep. It was called something like Pieta from Lililicious. Hope that helps! ^_^

    2. Frankly, I like to read any relationship that isn't cliche or boring. So, gender really doesn't matter; it's the quality of the story-telling that's the overriding factor for me. I don't mean just for doll photostories, since to be honest, I haven't really read that many. I mean more in literature, manga, etc.

Of course, I do have a soft spot for shounen-ai and shoujo-ai. I'd also like to see more shoujo-ai on here. I recently decided that my girl mini should represent one of my characters, Ariadne, who incidentally is in a relationship with another girl. SO, it looks like I'm going to end up getting another mini girl when I find the right sculpt.

Heck, maybe I'll give a photostory a try too.

    3. Long as its not too explicit, you should be fine. ^_^ Personally, as I am all "Love is love" I think the same way...go for it, if you want!

    4. I have planned to have a girlxgirl couple in future.
I already got Varushka, but it'll take a while before I can order her girlfriend.

I don't have any tips for how far you can go. I haven't photographed any doll romances yet.
I think you can go the same as boyxboy. Or boyxgirl.

    5. i seen some girl x girl couples around, and i find them way cuter and somewhat more natural than boy x boy (i think effemminated boys are sick) plus i like them more because it appears that gay couples are a fashion among young girls (around 16 years old) and i find this creeply wrong. i am planning 2 girl x girl couples in my dolly family...

    6. Finally! I've been wondering myself why there's no girlxgirl on here... If it's tame, it shouldn't matter. I mean, personally, I think it's only uncomfortable if it looks sexual in nature. Kissing, cuddling... That doesn't bother me. Naked under the bed sheets and more... kind of bothers me.

But I would love to see girlxgirl! Go for it!

    7. Yaoi is more popular among girls, most like boys how about 2 boys together? But it tends to also be more emotional and "cute", often the boys are depicted as feminine because of this.
Yuri is more poplar among men for the same reason, but usually is closer to the "hentai" category, basically porn.
The yuri that is not depicted that way is usually done by the few girls who are into it. The difference here though is that yuri is usually "angst". Its sad and serious focusing more on the general story and not the relationship. Tends to be a downer....Its a real shame though, but I have managed to find some more light hearted yuri out there, closer to the themes of yaoi, which is more appealing to girls.
This of course is said on the basis of what Ive found in anime and manga. Im fairly new to DoD, I cant say for sure the same is true for it. But I assume it is.
I myself am a lesbian, so Ill be faithful to girlxgirl no matter what. Cant wait to see your story!

    8. I agree with this. while I'm always happy to incorporate new information about correct use of specialised terminology, I also believe that sometimes a specific label that might only be mostly accurate can describe something better than a more general label that's incontrovertable. to my mind, "gay" or "lesbian" describes a doll, or a relationship between dolls. yaoi, yuri, shounen/shoujo-ai, etc. describe types of stories that happen to feature gay relationships...but there's more to the description than that, as Taco said. so while I'll happily label any photoshoots I do that are not shoujo-ai as "lesbian" or fxf or something that reflects my non-compliance with the genre (per Iikaya), I also don't think we should ditch terms like yaoi just because not everything falls under them.

back OT, I also like the girlxgirl stuff. my planned dollie family is chock-a-block with queer characters of all sorts, and it's nice to hear that other people like the full spectrum of sexuality too. ^_^

o, and I just had a thought that might feed into the "why do girls seem to like yaoi better than yuri" exploration: is it perhaps (in part!) because straight girls are used to thinking about what can be done to please male bodies, but spare few thoughts for what can be done to please female ones? I know that when I think about my future fxf pairings, I can't see my photos getting more intimate than kissing and hand holding, just because I have basically no experience and would hate to create an embarrassingly inaccurate scene. ...?

    9. I like to think of my future dollie family as being able to represent the full spectrum, but that's gonna take a while ^^;;
As an asexual I'm perfectly willing to think part of the reason male slash is more popular with straight women than femmeslash (or boys love compared to girls love, yaoi compared to yuri...) is because of the attention paid to the male body on a regular basis- we're used to staring at luscious man chest all day and appraising men folk for attractiveness, and we're pretty sure we know what turns people on when it comes to guys, but we're not really sure what turns *us* on or what we're supposed to like in women. Thankfully yuri is gaining in popularity, as well as femmeslash- it's good to have some balance.

Maybe yuri is also popular due to the emphasis on 'angst' and relationship feeling? Everything in that 'package' of emotion, that is- love, apprehension, tenderness, jealousy, physical passion... it's exactly what I know *I* look for in both slash and het. If a pairing has that, I don't care if it's a guy and a girl, or two guys, or two girls, or two hyperintelligent tree stumps... I'm there. The sex doesn't bother me so much, I skip or skim- it doesn't really appeal to me anyway, for all three. (Or all four, including the hypothetical tree stumps.)

EDIT: I'm not sure if I'm comfortable using any real label for future romantic photostories. I think that I'd prefer marking actual content rather than 'gay' or 'yaoi'. If I ever get my Guy and my Tom together, do I have to mark all their interactions as 'pre-slash'? Because it's just brimming with sexual tension and all. It's not really gay, either. I'd much rather just put in the heading 'two guys messing around' or 'vague intimations of guy on guy'. Something more descriptive than endless 'yaoi, yaoi, yaoi'.

    10. I think it would be good to have some variety in the genders of romances personally for my future dolls they will probably ending up falling in love with each other and every boy i by to be a bf to my girl will fall for a boy instead but thats just how i am :sweat but girl and girl romances have a lot of different aspects that they can bring to the table so i think it would be a good idea to have a girl/girl couple

    11. I would love to see some shoujo-ai romances. Not a big fan of yaoi (but then...being a lesbian...) but I'll read and look at tamer stuff.

    12. It kinda sucks that there arn't more lesbian couples/ dolls out there. I would like to have a lesbian couple but what's the fun of Rping if you control everything? I'm hoping my girl finds some one soon she's lonely ;_; (so if anyone has a single girl also hehe ^~)

    13. I also have two girls who are more than friends, but I haven't posted any photos about them because I'm not very good at making up photostories.

    14. I never thought about how I "give" my dolls an orientation, but mine are all gay and lesbian with 1 bisexual (unless they're established characters in media *ie- my Audrey Hepburn/Breakfast at Tiffany's dolls* because then I stick to what the series has defined them as) just because that's what I know. My lone BJD is going to be single for awhile though, because I want a girl next. Then she'll be single for awhile, because my girlfriend will want us to buy another boy ^^ but after that, there will definitely be some girlxgirl photo sets and stories.

    15. It's going to take me a LONG time to do it, but I do want to get two girls that are in love. And I'm a girl! haha

    16. Actually pansexual means you like boys and girls but also intersex people and trans people of all kinds.
There are not only two genders or gender identities in this world but many different mixes between them.

      (and now some ranting)
And to all people who seems believe yaoi and shounen ai is just for women *grin* you are so very wrong! I am a guy and yes I am gay and I can tell you that I freaking LOVE seeing so much boyXboy in this community!
Why? Because everywhere else... books, television, series, movies, games... you name it! I am being bombarded by heterosexual fluff fluff and smex! To you out there who claim to be tired of yaoi put yourselves in MY shoes!! Imagine how tired I must be of all boyXgirl! *sigh* -_-' <-- self pity.

I do not care that many of the ones who love and post yaoi are women! The more the merrier! Boy, girl or anything inbetween or beyond! I am happy and grateful that for ones in my life I belong to a community where I actually encounter boyXboy more often than boyXgirl!

I have two gay and one pansexual among my boys but I want to add that I will also have girls in my resin family whom will contribute with some yuri. ^^

There is enough hetero smex out there to fulfill anyones desires! So personally I want to see even more gay/bi/pan/trans/inter-sex love stories and peronalities on this community!

I hope I have not been disrespectful and I apologize for ranting on like this! I hope it is OK for me to express myself this openly with all of you!

    17. :sweat:sweat My boyfriend and I (I r a gurl) have two lovely ladies that are far more than just friends. His minifee lishe and my minifee des are smoldering lovers. :drool And smolder they do.

I just always found it amusing that my boyfriend and I would have two girls in a relationship.

    18. Not liking anyone, boy or girl, is asexual (at least in a sexual sense, you can still be hetero-romantic or homo-romantic as well as bi-romantic) but I'm not sure what one would call it if you're not interested in just plain white bread boy or girl but any other permutation besides. Hmm...
I'm dying to get some of my characters who don't fit in the 'binary' of things into doll form, but it'll be a while. I hope to see other people's, too.
