Girls or Boys and are you Male or Female?

Female and prefer Boys, although I have similar quantities of both. Seven of my twelve BJD are boys, but I also like BJD girls. Five of my twelve BJD are girls. To be honest, besides the fact I love their characters and molds, I enjoy my male guys in a different and special way probably also because of my female attraction to males, but as said I really like the characters and molds my female BJD are and enjoy them a lot too.

My sister totally played with ninja turtles and barbies. Nothing wrong with kids wanting to try a little of everything. I remembered that I always wanted toy trucks and actions figures but was always too shy to ask for them. xD'

I also have blackmail. There is this boy. Uber popular in my school. But, I'm very close to my art teacher who knows him ... She told me a story of when she caught him playing with barbies. XD So to all you studs who like dolls and people try to diss you because of it; even the straightest boys sometimes play with barbies. :p

LoL~ Reading this thread is kinda fun~ ^^ It's true that we do need more males here. Gays or straights, all are welcome! ^^ I have one friend who's male and is into BJDs. He has been into it before I bought my Ducan, and he went and bought his first (a Sha) after my Ducan arrived! X3 Now we have more and more friends owning BJDs where we live, but he remains as a male solo. I wish we could have more guys... T.T~ I'd love to have a bf who's into BJDs as well... It would be soooo nice to be with someone who understands this hobby! None of my family member is into BJDs... so I can only talk about them with my friends (who own them). >.> I'm 30-something and still alone... (_ _) Probably because people think I'm weird, still playing with dolls... Maybe we could set up something... A thread for single BJD owners to "meet and hit"? Fufufufu~~~

Hi, I'm a male and I have dolls.
I finally started collecting BJD in January of this year. I've seen many of them at the different conventions that I've gone to and really liked them, to the point that I had to get one for myself. I now have 13 of them with one more on its way(a Volks DD Sakura Matou). Close family members and friends who KNOW me really like the dolls and don't think much about the idea of me having them around, it's just part of my character. Here's a pic of some of my dolls :
But when I bring the subject up with some other family members or other friends / co-workers, it always bring on an odd look, like to say : "why are YOU taking about dolls?". I'm a guy who's 40, straight, into guy things - I have a '03 Ford Cobra, a Hayabusa bike, a Ford Expedition "Work" truck, into the martial arts and fire arms and work in the municipal electrical construction field - BIG house size machines - but I'm also a anime and science kind of nerd, whoa think it. ) but it's probably because it not viewed as a "big brawny guy" type of thing to them.
I just see it as some people don't have as wide of a view of the world, to appreciate the different things this world has to offer. They just don't know what they're missing out on. It's a shame really.

 

Well, I can't say much for myself as I'm a girl, however my boyfriend now really wants a pukisha. Another guy doll collector has been born apparently XD
All he can talk about is how he wants the makeup and how he's gonna make clothes and armor for him cX

I'm a female and more of the dolls I want or like are girls, since I'm used to collecting female dolls and I love to style long hair and dress up them up girly clothes. But that's not to say there aren't any boys dolls that I've got my eye on

I am a girl and I prefer boy dolls. I do adore girl sculpts. But I just don't really know what to do with them. I have no character in mind. But I would love to, someday, own a Volks Jun Tachibana.

 

I'm a female, and I have both of genders, female & male. I don't really care about the gender, if my favorite sculpt will come with specific body from their companies, then I won't change their body~ But if they only sell the head, I will decide her/his body later~ XD

It's wierd because in real life I prefer girls, but the majority of my dolls are boys..Then again, some are kind of feminine, so ^^; I think that might change once I get my girl dolls though. I think my inclination towards boy dolls is due to the fact that I don't really get them in real life xD

 

I'm female, and I buy whatever sculpt happens to catch my eye. My first doll was a boy, but the last three have been girls (albeit the tiny is kind of androgynous), and the one i'm saving for is also a girl.

It depends on what you mean...I voted, "Female, no preference" because when it comes to BJDs, that's true. However, all my dolls are girls at the moment...

I wasn't going to get any boy dolls, just foofy princesses..then I bought a boy doll. He's got more clothes than any of my girls, and my doll peeps are now 50% guys and they get 80% of the stuff

 

I'm a woman, and something I actually noticed is that, if you asked me this question in the past, I would've gone for the "Female, but prefer to have male dolls" I don't know if my getting older has anything to with it, but now I voted "Female with no preference or have equal of both" (I guess I have equal of both right now, 0 boys, 0 girls )

I actually find both male and female dolls beautiful in their own rights, and would hate to have to delegate myself to owning just one gender.
