1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. It's very rare that I'm a minority in any of the things I'm interested in. Under 5% (Male that prefers girl dolls). >.>

I'm a little curious what the numbers would be for straight/gay/trans/etc of the male collectors here. I'd just like to see where I stand in that group (straight).

I actually respect my girl. I know she's just plastic, but still, I would feel bad. When anyone that knows about her comes over and I take her out, I make sure she is respectfully displayed. I wouldn't let anyone treat her poorly or without respect. That includes me or anyone else removing her clothes. I don't get embarred when I do change them, though. But then again it's not something I do often. Shes worn the same white pair of undies that I put on her since I got her. :P

    2. I am a female, and I have no real preference. I have so many characters who I love that it's really random which ones happen to get shelled first. So far I have one male doll and one (half, really, it's only a head yet) doll who is female bodied but male gendered. The next doll I buy will be for an entirely female character, unless something derails my plans again.

    3. I'm a guy who likes boys!
I feel more comfortable with them, just bunch of fellas lol

    4. I'm female and I prefer girls.

    5. I really thought I'd replied to this already but I guess not...

Anyway, yet another female who prefers the boy dolls. Possibly because I always liked boy stuffs?? Who knows. I think I will always own predominately boy dolls. I do have 3 girls I adore right now, the most ever for me, I have one more on the way I've very excited about and at the most, I'll be getting two more, but that might change to one. Most likely the rest of my future doll purchases will be boys.

    6. I'm a female who likes an equal number of both. I started with a lovely boy doll. The next three sculpts I found were girls. It's not out of preference, just the order I found them in. I'm now saving for my next boy. I kinda pool my dolls with my mother's collection, so when you factor her dolls in we will have an equal number of both genders once my new boy arrives. One of my girls pairs with one of her boys, but we've been discussing the possibility of me getting a third boy and her a third girl so we each have equal numbers.

    7. I'm a girl (erm -- at least I was, a long time ago...) and prefer female dolls. I have one boy doll and another one on layaway (the only reason this one is a boy is that I couldn't get the head on a girl body at this point in time). I do wish, though, that the resin girls has more realistic looking breasts. Mostly they look like half grapefruits slapped on the chest --not awfully appealing!

    8. I am a female and have a girl doll. I especially searched for a girl as my first doll.
I think it's because I wanted to dress and make her like I want to be.

But I've thought of a boy as my second doll. ^^

    9. I could have sworn I posted here....

Im a girl and I own both male and female bjd's.

    10. If this is a duplicate please erase,but.....

I have only seen videos of men with BJDs,never one in person. I do not see anything wrong with it,but what does everyone else think?

    11. I think it may be a duplicate or it may be discussed inside another topic, I cannot recall.

Anyway, I LIVE with a man who collects dolls...my husband. :) It is wonderful to share the hobby. I don't see anything wrong with it at all. I am female and love video games and football, so why can't he like dolls?

    12. It is very true. Does your husband lean toward doll genders or types?

    13. I can't say I see anything wrong with it. My male cousin really wants a DoT E-an and has a little VOLKS Lost Angels girl that he made up like a miko. But he doesn't play with her, she's more for display and he would never buy a boy doll. I haven't met a male BJD collector other than him though, and when I hear of one I admit that I am a little taken a back at first. But that's only because most of the guys in my life think they're cute but tease me about it and don't show much interest. It's more of an adorable pat on the head humoring thing, but they wouldn't ever get a doll for themselves when I leave them around they mess with them so it's not like they're scared of or against dolls. That being said, I know some that are. So I guess I would be a bit surprised in an odd way at first, but I wouldn't have a genuine problem with it, it's just pretty uncommon for me. :)

    14. @Token - He prefers female dolls because he says they are pretty. :) He also mainly collects 50/60cm Obitsus in the 'bjd' type (he also has some off-topic for DoA fashion dolls). He has a Dollfie Dream planned later on, but prefers the more realistic look of Obitsu.

    15. @Hanyou: Oh? I guess I don't hang out in the BJD circle outside of gauking on the net even though my friend admires them she doesn't own one. It seems like a male owning one is a bit shocking at first, but if you run in larger groups where its a common like it would come up more often. I would imagine a majority of them would lean toward female dolls xD

@Misheru: That is pretty cute, you can buy each other dolls for christmas and anniversaries! are any of your dolls married? LOL

    16. @Token...dolls are always our gifts to each other. :) Our 10th anniversary was this past year and that was when the 60cm obsession began for us! LOL... He gave me a Dollfie Dream and I gave him an Obitsu.

Most of my dolls are also female (with a few exceptions), so no married ones. Lots of sisters though and I have done him an OOAK bride of myself before. LOL...

    17. @Misheru: LOL that is adorable! Like a flock of children. I always tell my BF ima a make a tiny bjd of him and carry it around xD

    18. We, together with my friend, collect dolls. And he loves them and communicates with them on a par with me. I gave him Soom Ai for the New Year. And he was happy =)

    19. @myleneOrmin: Aw :D That's so sweet! I am glad I am getting a lot of positive responses!

    20. I'm female, and I prefer larger male dolls and smaller girl dolls.... I guess I like the innocence of younger girls(not in a perv way :I) and... mature boys...?
