1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I adore boy dolls but I have a harder time getting my hands on them. I like odd looking or anthro animal dolls and there are more girl sculpts for that genre that are within my budget. Companies just make more odd looking female sculpts than male. Hopefully that'll change. My bunny boy is lonely lol.

    2. My first doll was a girl but I just ordered another and that is a boy. I have also plans (but no money) for the third doll and that one is a girl. So I have to say that I like more girl dolls. I think that it is easier for me to make clothes and stuff for girls. But I also like boy dolls.

    3. I am female and only interested in girl dolls. I have a male sculpt I turned into a girl. I don't find male dolls interesting or "sexy" in any way. I admire some, like the new Dollshe, for the detail in the sculpting, but I am not interested in male characters or dressing male dolls. I love buying shoes and wigs and planning outfits to sew for my girls, though.

    4. I'm a girl and my collection used to be completely male. I didn't get my first female doll until maybe two years after collecting and then I slowly starting selling all my boys and now my collection is soley made of girls! I think it's sort of weird that I never have a mixed collection and I've gone from all boys to all girls. Maybe one day I'll collect big but right now I'm happy with my girls!

    5. I'm a girl, and I have no plans to have boys in my collection. I just find the female form so much more appealing and fun to dress, where the boys are a little bland to me. I do really like some male face sculpts, but if I did get one, I would probably put it on a female body instead. They are pretty androgynous anyway.

    6. I identify as pangender or agender, but my dolls and the ones on my wishlist are all either female or genderless. (Which by the way doesn't infer a lack of interaction or relationship between them... Lack of gender presence does NOT need to nullify that element)

Now admittedly, there are some dang fabulous boy dollies out there. But for my own collection, I don't know, I guess I just feel like the female/effeminate aesthetic suits the idea of dolls more for me? Which sounds terrible and sexist! I seriously have no objection whatsoever to male dolls, and again there are a lot out there that I love! I guess I just feel they don't fit with me?

Also most of my dolls/planned dolls are shells of characters... and I don't have a huge long list of dudes who I feel would work well as dolls. All chars need a certain 'something'(?) before I feel the need to dollify them. That might actually be the biggest reason right there.

And that may change somewhere down the road, lol. I have surprised myself before. The idea of owning an adorable femboy is sort of appealing, and I can see that segueing into getting a more masculine guy someday.

    7. Right now I have 5 girls and 3 boys. I'm a girl and I can't say that I have a gender preference for my dolls. 3 out of 4 of my grails happen to be male and one is female (the girl and two of the boys are the same sculpt tho lol).

    8. I started only with girls and any boy heads were turned into female, slowly though a few boys have crept in and have stayed boys.

    9. I'm female and hope to eventually have a 1:1 ratio of boy and girl bjd's (lots of plans in the works) ;) Right now, however, I have more girls than boys. I think it's because I love all the frilly dresses and girly things and I feel more confident doing girl faceups than I do boys for some reason.

    10. Male sculpts are STUNNING but u need to get the right one or they look just to girly but girl BJDs no matter really what u get they are stunning. I prefer MSD over SD because they just have a beautiful esthetic about them

    11. I'm female and only female dolls appeal to me.

    12. Im female and I LOVE boy bjds <3 x

    13. The majority of my crew are girls. Not because I don't like boys, I have two boy dolls and I love them, but because my male OCs aren't pretty-boys and most mature male sculpts are only available in 70+ size (which I think looks out of scale with regular SD sized girls). If there were more mature faces in the 65cm range, I'd probably have more boys ... it's just so much easier for me to find girl sculpts I like that come in the right size. As a matter of fact I desperately need some more guys for characters that need shelling, but I can't for the life of me find the right sculpts. IH Arvid is a long-time favorite of mine, but the character is average height and EID males are anything but. I was lucky to find Simply Divine Alec (high up on that "must have" list!) whom I'll hybrid on a Mirodoll body for a short, stocky, older male character ... but it seems that for every guy I find a sculpt for, two or three girls hop on the wishlist.

    14. I really love the aesthetic and dynamics of male dolls, but my doll family definitely leans more predominantly female. I just prefer female bodies over male ones. Male dolls seem to be a little more difficult for me in terms of building characters and dynamic relationships within stories. I also impulse buy, and those seem to just default to female in character and faceup. My wishlist is mostly female oriented with a few males.

    15. I am a female and I prefer dolls that look like women.

    16. I'm female and like both genders equally ^^ I really like balancing the gender numbers. I currently have one of each and all my plans leave the same amount of each gender ^^

    17. I'm female, and like both male and female dolls. When it comes to male dolls, though, I prefer more boyish/masculine sculpts over effeminate ones.

    18. I'm female, and right now I have three of each. My first doll was a boy, and I love all of my dolls. I voted "female with no preference". I do a lot more with my girl dolls, though, but I think it has less to do with their gender and more with the fact that I'm having an easier time finding clothes for them, so they have nicer things. For whatever reason, I'm very happy to have an equal amount of girls and boys. I generally cycle through who's my favorite doll, and that has nothing to do with gender either, because I've favored all of them at one point or another.

    19. I am female and while I learn girl because I have so many characters who are girls, I do love my boys and have a few. :)

    20. I'm female. I chose a girl for my first doll because the boy doll I want isn't available right now. I have ideas for male dolls and maybe one day I'll be able to be able to make it happen. I like having both though. I'm unsure if I'll end up with a balance or a preference, but right now it's just an equal appreciation for both.
