1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I'm a female but every doll in my wishlist and my grail doll is a girl. I think it because I wanted to shell a character of mine that I'm not comfortable to show in public.
Also, I think a girl fashion is more versatile than boys so sewing for girls will be easier, I think :sweat
But overall, the girl doll charm is something that attract me, especially my grail doll which is the girl I admire the most, hoping one day I can even see the doll in person :)

    2. I am female. I have six dolls, three boys and three girls. Originally I thought I would want only boys, and I have to admit my boys have more stuff than my girls by say a factor of 20. Boys are in fact much easier to sew for than girls. The curvier the body, the harder it is to pattern for and get a perfect fit. I enjoy the challenge of making my girls clothes, but I tend to like really simple clean lines in the clothing I design, so somehow making things for my boys is just more fun for me.

    3. I really love girl dolls a lot, mostly because I like to dress them up in cute little dresses and do their hair etc.
But a lot of the boy SD sized dolls are....wow *u*

    4. I actually have one girl, one boy and one little anthro doll that I usually dress as a boy, but can be also a girl. My wishlist includes 3 girl and two boys. I don't have preference between boys and girl, each gender has his pros and cons and I try to keep their number balanced. Sewing for boy is easier, because you don't have to fight with curves, but there is much more choice, especially about shoes, for girls. For me they're both fun, even in different ways! I love to have variety in my collection, and even if sticking to have only "compatible" dolls I search for various body shape and styles, too.

    5. Female, I prefer boy dollies.

    6. I'm a female and I have two SD girl dolls and one SD boy. I prefer female dolls because They are so much fun!!!! I love to dress up girl dolls with cute outfits . Boy dolls (for me) are harder to get clothing and define a style.

    7. Oh goodness, when I first joined the hobby I was all about boy dolls, but now that I've been in the hobby for a couple years, and finally bought a female doll.. it was all over. I LOVE spoiling girls, and buying dresses for them! I still love my boy very very much, but it's fun to have some ladies around! ^w^

    8. I'm a female, actually I like both but in my list the boys seems more than the girls, so I choose BJD boys to be my favorite :D

    9. I'm female and I tend to like dolls that are either female or can be read either way. I usually like the way female dolls look better and there's more flexibility with fashion choices. Those are reasons but I think "I just do!" is the real answer.

    10. I am female and my preferences are based on size. SD I prefer males. MSD I prefer females a bit more than male. Yosd I take male any day. They are all adorable.

    11. I'm female and I like girl dolls. I've always just found the female form more appealing in dolls and since I like to sew for my doll, it's sooooo much easier for me to make dresses and skirts than boy clothes! If I had a boy doll I would want him to wear jeans and nice sweaters and other stuff that I couldn't make :(

    12. I'm female and I only have male dolls but I don't think it's just an attraction thing. I like the dress up thing but it's also a character thing. (They're not my characters.) I also prefer to dress myself up than buy clothes I would want to wear for a doll.

    13. I voted for the second option. I have 2 boys and 1 girl so far. I dont know why, but when it is about BJD, its more fun to create boys characters eventhough you can get pretty dresses and shoes for the girls. BJDs are kind of different than Barbie where a girl prefers girl barbie dolls. Here you can create your "Mr. Perfect" ^^

    14. I definitely prefer females. (I am a female myself.) I sort of find this strange because when I write my stories, I prefer male characters. I think this has something to do with the fact that I like dressing girls way more. It's easier for me to pick out their styles and such. Boys are not as fun for me in this regard. Because of this, I am now appreciating my female characters more, so it's a win/win :)

    15. I am female and I have 13 boys, 0 girls. I've tried to own girl dolls four different times, but three times they went right back out the door, the fourth time I had purchased the doll with a friend and the friend ended up owning the doll 100% while I found a boy to replace her XD I just don't get along with them very well, apparently :'/ When I look at my boys I go all squee and they can make me smile even on the worst of days. When I looked at the girls I saw something pretty, but not necessarily something I was attached to or made me squee.

My boys are all different types and sizes(I don't like having the exact same anything), I have sweet boys, sad boys, smirky boys, muscled boys, thin boys, older boys, younger boys, and they dress in anything from fantasy to Victorian to casual to armor. I will say the majority of my collection is SD sized(70cm boys seem to be my downfall) and are excellent posers. I do like a nice set of abs and have hybrid dolls in order to get a face I like with a more aesthetically pleasing/better posing body.

I will eventually have two girl dolls, one for my first original character, the second based on the doll I had when I was little. I miiight go for a third if I can find a doll I like to be Souseiseki, except she's such a tomboy I don't know if she counts XD
But other than those two(three?) my wishlist is all male.

    16. I'm female but somehow, I have more boys than girls. :) I plan to have 9 dolls because of the story line that I've created and also...9 dolls are already many, right ?! :D More than this I don't think I can take good care of them equally. Hehehe! So in my plan; 7 boys and 2 girls. (now I owned 6, 1 on waiting and 2 still on planning)

    17. I'm female and prefer female dolls. There are a few male dolls that have caught my eye, but nothing I would buy right away. Iplehouse is a good example of having a variety of mature to adolescent dolls, but most boys are too effeminate for me. (sorry for spelling, I'm half asleep right now lol).

    18. I'm female and all my dolls are also female, maybe I get them cos I wish I looked how they do. I do have plans to get a single male doll, but wouldnt really know what to do with him other then use him as a prop for my girls.

    19. I'am female and I prefer female dolls. I don't like male dolls. There are only 1 or 2 boys which I like but I don't think that I'll buy it.

    20. I am female, but I don't have a preference. I think it all depends on the sculpt.. XD
If I *had* to choose one though, I would probably pick girl dolls, since they have a lot of cuter clothing choices :3
