1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. I'm female and prefer female dolls, though male dolls catch my eye more easily, it's always female dolls that I seriously think about buying. I just feel like I connect better with them.

    2. Girls, girls, girls! I've found much more diversity in faces in my experience. Not to mention that most of my characters are girls, it just works out. Though that's not to say that I only want girl dolls, though history has shown that I don't bond with my dude dolls as well. I think part of it is that I'm not into feminine guy dolls--for myself! If you love/collect/own girly dudes, more power to ya!--and most BJD guy ouside of like, Dollshe and Iplehouse tend to be on the feminine side. Someday I will get a perfect boy doll and love him to pieces but today is not that day.

    3. I find it much easier to make female original characters than male (As I am a girl with only a few male friends), and my dolls are usually my OC's....so female, mostly. But I like male dolls too, but one is enough.

    4. I'm a girl and all my dolls are girls as well, but strangely, the two floating head I bought (one already home and one on layaway) are boys... I think I'd love to have a big boy doll (SD or uncle) but I am still too intimidated by their size and...er... male parts to actually get myself around owning a SD boy body. We'll see what the future brings ^0^

    5. I (woman, BTW) shell characters from my comic, and I just find it easier to shell the women than to shell the men. Apart from my main character (whom I have twice, with the same head sculpt) and his eldest son, I have no adult male dolls, whereas I have plenty of adult male characters. I just don't see them around. But it was not so difficult to shell four adult women.

My child characters are about 50/50. I'm not sure that I really have a preference, and I have no trouble clothing either boys or girls. When I make clothes (and I should make clothes for everyone :p), I actually prefer making clothes for my men, because the ladies' bosoms cause me problems. (Yes, I am rather a novice seamstress and I need to draft my own patterns...

    6. Hi, I'm a 61 yo female and I prefer girls! I have a LTF Rolly and Bisou but I would love to have at least one boy...the Bisou boy is really precious.....sigh, I want a LTF family....my girls are BFF...

    7. I'm female and I prefer male dolls because I am attracted to the male form and find it beautiful. Since the emphasis is on what I've already got, I find female body sculpts to be really uninteresting. Most of our dolls tend to be pretty stylized, but to me it seems more extreme with the female faces. I also find designing interesting clothes for guys to be more of a fun challenge. If I want to dress up a girl I'll go dive into my own closet. :abambi:

That being said, I do plan to own at least one girl doll to balance things out around here, provided I can find the perfect one.

    8. I'm uh... female, I think. Physically, at the very least. And technically, I prefer boy dolls but really it wouldn't make much of a difference... I like my boys and girls to look pretty much the same xD

    9. I'm female and I find I like both equally. The boys have an attraction aspect because of their form. The females are fun to dress up and can wear things I never could wear in real life.

    10. I'm female. I love SD sized girl, but I prefer SD sized boy.

    11. I'm female and I love both. But my first doll will be a girl doll :XD:.

    12. I have more girls than boys - but I don't have a stronger preference one way or the other - like I don't like girls more than boys. It seems like boys cost more than the girls - so that influences me a lot of the time when I'm making a purchase. So maybe I am biased a bit towards girls - but because they are more affordable?

    13. im female and so far i only have 2 dolls.. both are female. im waiting on a horse and gender im not sure yet. i have 3 more dolls lined up. 2 are female one is male.

i like females better cuz i love dressing them up in cute clothes. males just dont have as cute of things to buy!

    14. I am female and I have four dolls three girls. I have a feeple60 Rin ordered as well. Oh and one anthro that is not allowed here that is female. I like the male dolls but I find most are too feminine looking. I like the iplehouse males but they are very costly.

    15. I am female(though my fiance is also in the hobby and I'm sometimes mistaken for male :sweat ) and I have one finished girl doll and a boy doll WIP(just a head so far!). The plan is for twelve dolls which will be seven girls and five boys. In my drawings, at least, I'm more inclined to draw girls than boys. It's not that I relate to one gender over the other, I think I'm a good mix of both when it comes to mannerisms and interests, it's that I find the curves of a female body more appealing to draw than a male body since my lines tend to be curved. The male body has sharper edges and a boxier appearance, something my lines don't typically like to do. I guess my interests in drawing have affected my preference in dolls in some way.

Girl dolls are more fun to dress, too. :)

    16. I'm female. I have four girls, five boys, a floating head, and a boy on the way. If I should get either of the dolls I'd like to get after he gets in, they're both girls. It's not really ever been a planned thing, I've just gotten what I want and it happens to be pretty even.

    17. I am female, and I prefer both male and female dolls. I do have more female then male, but that's because I have a hard time finding males I want.

    18. I am female, and well, for me it depends on how the doll looks, if I like it, then I dont have a preference.

    19. I am female and I prefer male dolls. I like the cool atmosphere the mature male dolls give off, although the cute male ones are very nice too.
For some reason I'm not particularly attracted to the female dolls, although I would like one just to dress it up in cute outfits.

    20. I am female and I deffinitely prefer male dolls. I can't find any logical explanation for this, that's just how it is. Girl BJDs don't appear as attractive as boys to me.
But, hah, that's kinda funny, cause -with all my male-BJD-preferences - I'd rather choose a doll with a delicate, fragile even, appearance than the one who is muscular, manly and handsome-looking. (´ー`)''
