1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Girls view on guys who own BJDs

Oct 26, 2010

    1. Who cares? I wasn't under the impression that BJDs were a "girl" thing, even though the number of fans might be higher.

If guys love them, by all means, do collect. Means more people to yammer with.

    2. I think it's nice knowing guys like BJDs too. I find it quite cool too and sometimes envious, if they own a rare or big collection of BJDs haha!

In a way, I think it can (kinda) bring guys and girls together through this hobby, just like how anime brings others together too. <3

    3. Having guys who own BJDs in community is cool! It's interesting to share views on dolls 'cause guys can have different views on them. We have several guys in a local community, and I think this is great.

    4. Through my own experiences... I've learned that nothing is solidly this or that. Guys can like dolls, and girls like going to monster trucks. There is nothing weird about it, and to anyone who thinks so I'd say they're missing out. I don't think things like gender should limit someone into liking something and expressing it. My best friend introduced me to BJDs, and I love him for it! xD

    5. Guys with dolls?

      I don't know man......

      ..lol Aw I kid =p

    6. boo!!...

      :P

    7. I am fine with it~ BJDs are such beautiful arts, I think sex means nothing to it. Some of the males do a really good job on styling! The most important thing is that they really like and enjoy BJDs~

    8. I think it's cool. I already know a lot of guys who collect action figures and collectibles like Hot Toys and stuff, and I know one guy who collects Pullip and Blythe dolls, but I've only ever met one guy who owns a BJD in real life. I'd love to see more guys get into BJDs. :D

    9. Er...
I may be a little biased, being one.
My BJDs are all male, and a lot of people assume that I'm gay. It just makes me think 'What are you expecting me to do with these dolls?'
But in any case, I think that it is fine. Though, like some others, I find it a bit strange to see much older men having... Well, any BJD in general, though I can understand some. But then, I will be one eventually, so hopefully that will change.

    10. Boooo =p lol

    11. Rock on, doll dudes. Rock on.

    12. I love it when there is a man interested in BJDs and other dolls! It's really quite amazing when they see an image and respond with "Wow that's really badass" and actually want to get into the hobby. I guess I was just lucky to get a lover that actually responded nicely to the hobby and wants to support me as much as he can, as well as a fondness for Soom dolls, haha.

    13. I wish so badly that my fiance would be into dolls. It would make this hobby a lot easier. He rolls his eyes at everything I want to get for her.

That's mainly why I still haven't bought the eyes I want for her and her wig.

Personally though, I think more guys should be into the hobby. It's awesome, cause I love hanging out with boys, and it would make it more fun if they were into dolls as well!

    14. I first got to know BJD through a male friend! So from start I have never viewed this as simple "girls"-thing. He and I chat a lot about BJD every time we meet and I can bounce all my ideas and he either shoots them down or helps me develop them further.
For me BJD are above all else about the art. Pictures, faceups, clothes, stories, it all has to do with art and I don't like the set a gender limitations to that. :)

    15. oh go boo yourself :P

    16. XD muwaaahahaha!!

    17. your avatar seems familiar though reminds me of ronald mcdonald

    18. I say if guys are into dolls, then let them! That's like girls being into cars and such; nothing wrong with either.

    19. Well I got my best friend (a guy) and my fiancee into dolls so I like guys who have dolls. My friend has one MiniFee girl and my fiancee has a yoSD devil boy.

Both of them showed interest in my dolls before buying their own and always showed respect for them. I wouldn't want to be close friends with anyone who didn't at least respect my dolls.

Although my friend has occasionally dressed his doll in scandalous attire. :sweat

    20. Its funny, I'm always a bit surprised when I see guys with BJD's, but then again, I have no issue with it. Its always pretty cool, and not as much weird as it makes me do a double take. Besides, I'll never say I dont like seeing guys in this hobby, its refreshing from all the female friends I have interested in this hobby.. And if theyre cute thats a BIG bonus:lol:
