1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Girls view on guys who own BJDs

Oct 26, 2010

    1. I would love to meet a man who's into the hobby. I think it shows that he's in touch enough with his masculine side to also show the feminine side of himself. It's a man with no fear, no fear of how he's percieved by others and no fear of being shunned for what he loves.

    2. Honestly?
I think it's hot (may I say so?) that guys collect dolls, well, bjds that is. Simply because it's something different than what guys usually do. I would love to join a man out in the woods to take pictures of doll instead of going with him to the gym and watch him flex his muscles, you know? In fact, I would rather marry a man with a "strange" hobby than a man that is normal. Before what I say goes out of hand I think I should just end my opinion by saying that I would welcome guys into the hobby with open arms! :)

    3. Hey, Im not so open so if i saw a guy with a BJD, id befriend him. But if i saw a guy collecting porcelein or barbies... byebye. Especially porcelein they scare me. But hey...

Guy with Doll Hobby > Guy with Perv hobby

    4. I give PROPS to guys in this hobby! More power to you! It's nice to see both genders sharing a hobby so passionately!

    5. I love every single thing about this post. :abow:

    6. Honestly my first reaction is that it's a little odd, but then as a lot of us were raised to believe dolls are for girls and cars are for boys, I think that it's kind of natural to have a wierd first impression. My mom gets mad when my little brother looks at BJDs or watches girls' anime with me, so I grew up with a very strict THAT IS ONLY FOR GIRLS mindset about dolls which is hard to get out of after 13 years...

Guys having "sexy" girl dolls is no different than girls and their gay pretty-boy dolls, and there's nothing wrong with either of those. And really, there's not much difference between BJDs, dolls and action figures, so why is it okay for guys to have action figures but not dolls? Why can girls have both, but not guys?

    7. I don't find it worng for men to join this hobby, i am pretty young like 13 to be in the hobby, (I'm a female too). And if i see a man into the hobby i'd just go: Another fellow dollie lover whos not female! :)
Its like if some women are into cars, guns and stuff.
Guys can be into dolls and dressmaking too.

    8. I have the same reaction as I have when I see someone with a handicap:
I see there's something different from what I'm used to,
then think "oh" and get over it.
While there is some sort of reaction I disregard the oddness of it fairly quickly.
It does not make that person less a person. :)
I don't see why guys can't like dolls. It not more abnormal than girls playing
with 'guy toys', which is pretty common.

    9. Haaaaannah: Haha, I would probably agree with you. For some reason I find it more attractive when a guy is into something odd like that than if he's into cars or football or even typical shounen anime like Naruto. It's always a pleasant surprise when he's into something that makes you double take.

    10. For me it depends on the guy.
I know a few boys with dolls, and most of the time i don't have a problem with it, but there are some cases, (one such with a guy i know) that has a sexual attraction to the dolls, on a very disturbing level. THAT i have a problem with!
If guys wanna have a lil doll to play with or sew for (i actually know ones that do!) then thats fine and i'm very comfortable with it.
It's when the dolls actually become sexual objects that i start being creeped out, by either gender.

    11. I will admit I was startled seeing guys get into this hobby as well but very pleased. I actually find it kinda sexy and hot that guys are into the same hobby. No shunning here! :)

    12. My boyfriend is actually thinking about buying his own doll in the near future. I fully support his decision because I like sharing my hobbies with others.

    13. My boyfriend had never heard or seen bjds until me and now he's just as excited about them as I am! :) He's started putting money aside so that he can make his first purchase! I think that it's really cool that he wants to get into this hobby with me. I don't see a difference between a girl being in the hobby or a guy being in the hobby. It's a great hobby that should be enjoyed by anyone who wants to be a part of it!

    14. There's quite a few girls out there that have a sexual attraction to their dolls aswell. Some see them as their boyfriends.
Things like that aren't gender bound.

    15. It's perfectly normal to me. I don't like it when guys think that it's girly to own a doll. There's nothing wrong with it.

    16. hey hey.. what ever floats your boat. That's what I say. In other words what ever makes you happy.. I think its great having a hobby you like to do.. its not a flaw whats flawed is people trying to make fun or keep other people away from something they love...

    17. i'm ok with it i guess, though if they own a DD it makes me think they're otaku, but it's fine with me as well, so yeah.

    18. I think it's awesome if a guy owns a doll. While some might think it creepy or weird, I don't see a problem with it. In some cases owning a doll gives you the opportunity to do things you might not do yourself; like dress weird, take pictures, or make things.

Gender shouldn't matter when it comes to dolls, and I'm always happy to see a male that owns dolls.

    19. I'm pretty open-minded about many things. So seeing a guy with a bjd would not come as a surprise to me.
Just embrace what you love. ;)

    20. I don't see anything wrong with it. It's all about the hobby. Being involved with BJDs sparks one's creativity in many different fields. We lived in Japan for almost a decade and I remember when some of my classmates who are guys collected both Dragonball and Sailormoon cards. It wasn't a big deal.

Hands down to the guys who are into BJDs!
