It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Giving a doll as a gift

Apr 29, 2006

    1. I'm going to be buying my sister an MSD for christmas ^.^ (not sure on which one yet, although I have ideas)

She always ends up liking the same things as me, so I know she'll fall in love with them eventually and then want one of her own, so I might as well buy her one as a present ^w^

    2. I'm buying a puki for my best friends christmas present. Shes buying me an expensive camera and doesnt have a BJD yet, thought i'd start her off small. lol

    3. I would, if I had the money and knew someone (personally) who shares my love for them, that is :)

    4. When I started my BJD collection my daughter wanted her own doll too, so
I gave her a Pocket Fairy from Minoru World for her 12th birthday.

    5. So my best friend (the lovely and wonderful ShirouHokuto) told me last week that she was going to send me a care package. I've had a very bad month, what with moving to a new city and then getting bed bugs from my new apartment, then getting sick (twice), and not being able to find a job yet. I figured it would be a standard package, maybe candy, some fun things, and such like. So I stopped by my apartment today to check for it, and what do I see but a Dollzone box!

Inside was Belladon, who we had discussed my buying from her (I have plans to buy his girlfriend and she decided she didn't want him anymore), but she decided that he was going to be my comfort instead. <3 I didn't have any dolls of my own yet, so he is doubly dear for that reason. I haven't even unpacked him yet because I'm afraid I might hurt him (I did peek in the box though).

At any rate, have you ever had a lovely gift of this kind? Not necessarily a whole doll, but any awesome clothes or other unexpected lovely things from people who love you? Did you ever get a BJD gift that you didn't like? Feel free to share pictures!

    6. Wow, that's so nice of her! What a great friend! *is jealous*

I don't have a doll yet, so I haven't gotten any doll stuff. But knowing my girlfriend, when I do get a doll, some surprises might be in my future... she's given me so many great unexpected gifts already! >o<

    7. My boyfriend got me a Dollheart Fer for my birthday and a few MSD clothes. He knows I love my doll and he knows that me getting clothes for her will make me happy so he got them as a surprise. I was ecstatic. :)

    8. That was such a sweet thing for your friend to do!

I've never been given a doll before, but sister has lent me money so I can buy a doll, and then pay her back for it slowly. I've done the same thing for her, too. It's nice to have someone who'll support my hobbies that way. XD

    9. Dont know if it counts,
but my dad bought me my first doll :D
      &soon, my second doll ^^
      He's too awesome :fangirl:

    10. My friend Nikui is getting me a Minifee El head for Christmas and selling me the body half off. ^^ It will be my first doll. I don't have him yet, but I can't wait to get him.

    11. My mom bought me a doll for Christmas two years ago. ^__^ It's always nice to receive an unexpected surprise especially from someone who is not in the hobby. But I would consider your friend a very dear one!

    12. Nope, I've had to get all my dolls the old-fashioned way - by working for them.

    13. I had some hard times earlier this year and I had to sell several of my dolls (all of which I have bought with my own money) in order to keep my apartment and pay for school expenses. Well, things have gotten much better, but I am still unable to afford a new doll. My mother felt very bad about me having to sell my dolls, so this week as an early Christmas present she bought me a Volks MSD Yuni. I love Yuni very much and it was one of the best gifts I have ever gotten. It just warms my heart that my mom wanted to do this for me. I feel very very lucky!! <3

    14. (Background because I know this will confuse you. My sisters boyfriend caused a 4 inch crack in my head. Not only did I loose my sense of taste and smell but i get chronic migraines, I had to spend the first two months of recovery having difficulty walking, and 'strenuous exercise' is not advised for the next three years. So basically he owes me big)

So after that huge explanation, My sisters boyfriend bought me a doll for my birthday yesterday. It was very nice of him. I didn't ask for her, I didn't even hint. But she was something I had looked at and considering that he just bought a house he couldn't afford the likemey niana I had lusted after. Im very thankful to him. =)

    15. My cousin gave me a really intricate outfit (it was in the style of ancient Chinese clothing, just fantasized) and a beautiful blue wig for my birthday.

Unknowingly, she gave me two things I had been searching for XD

    16. I find your tone slightly insulting, whether that was your intention or not.

Re: Other people: I love my best friend, she is the bestest best friend ever. <3 She did say I don't get any present for the next five years, though (but I'm cool with that). The only way I can repay her is to continue knitting things for her dolls. XD

    17. That's so nice of her! My mother bought Aki for my birthday and Konrard for christmas. :)

    18. Last Christmas, my friend from Germany gifted me a DZ HID. She knew I loved the dolls and she knew it'd comfort me. I don't have much of a happy life, so she wanted to do what she can distantly to make me happy. And so far, I've been so greatful to her for giving me who is now Iah. I love my doll to bits and I wish i can do something in return to my friend. She's such a sweetie. ;_;

    19. That's so sweet! I'm glad you have such wonderful friends. Honestly I think giving something like a BJD, something that is so elegant and beautiful is wonderful. ^^ I know that simply playing with my friend's BJDs makes me happy, so I'm sure getting one of your own is twice as amazing. ^^

    20. Unfortunately I haven't had this pleasure. I bought my doll with extra savings. But, my room mate and I plan to buy our friend a DDUNG doll. She's been admiring BJD from a distance, and since DDUNG aren't exactly BJD they are still very cute and inexpensive, so we thought we'd get it for her for xmas. :aheartbea
