Giving a doll as a gift

Apr 29, 2006

    1. My first doll was a birthday present from my mom and now that I've finally have money on my own, I'm planning on returning the favor and getting her a LittleFee for her birthday. I think it's really nice to give dolls as presents :3

    2. at the moment i am in the proces of giving/buying a doll for my daughter.
she is a buddydoll april wink.

    3. my first doll is a birthday present. :3
id really love to get my mom a pukipuki.

    4. I also got my first doll a Bobobie Espree as a birthday gift. I would definitely get a doll for someone as a gift if I thought they would appreciate it.

    5. One of my best friends really wanted a bjd but couldn't afford one. So I got all of our friends to donate $20 and we ended up getting her a DZ Megi for her birthday!

    6. I have purchased several dolls as gifts for my two girls. Most recently, (like, 2 days ago), Lizardbreath got a Little Fee for her birthday :) I also got a Leeke Sweet for the younger daughter's birthday last year, I believe.

    7. Wow, how nice! I have never given a doll as a gift... I don't have any doll friends to give to, even if I wanted to :(

I have received two as gifts :) A puki from my mom and one from my boyfriend, both this past Christmas. My boyfriend is trying to talk me into letting him get me a Petsha to put away for Christmas while the make-up is free, but it's just so expensive O___O I feel bad accepting!!! Sigh, what a sweetie, tho! <3

    8. I couldn't ask for a doll myself. I'd rather work to earn the money and buy it. It's more fun that way. But if family really wanted to contribute money to a doll fund... I wouldn't mind. But I'd probably enjoy money contributed to a vacation a little bit more, even if a doll would last much, much longer. XD

I'd like to get one for my mom this Christmas. It'll probably end up being a Bobobie MSD. Simply because she does smoke. So I wouldn't want to put down so much money that it would get smoke/light damaged. But she does really like dolls and has shown interest in mine. So she might enjoy having one. :)

    9. I'm actually in the middle of a layaway for twin BBB tines, one of which is gonna be a gift for my very close friend (consider her like a sister)

    10. I haven't done it yet. I could see it happening with an MSD or smaller though. It's way less likely for me to buy a big boi for someone else though. ^^

    11. I'm giving my sister a NaNuRi head, just because. She recently showed interest in my doll so I decided that she would enjoy this head more than I would so I'm just going to let here have him when he gets here.

    12. My two best friends bought me a Puki for Christmas. They were buying dolls for themselves and decided to let me pick one out, too.

One of the best Christmas gift EVER, just for the sheer fact they were sweet enough to include me in their order.

    13. I wish I could buy one for one of my bestest friends - she's wanted one years before I even knew about them, but alas, I can't even afford one for myself.

    14. If my roomie gets into this hobby enough and wants one, I think I might get her one for Christmas.

    15. Since I don't make my own money my mom and my other relatives have indirectly paid my dolls. I allways ask money for gifts so that I can spend it the way I like. I would never ever ask my mom or my grandma and grandpa buy me a doll as a gift. It just wouldn't feel right. But I have no problem getting money.

I would love to buy doll/head/body for my little sister 18th birthday. She's turning 16 this summer so I have time to collect money for her present. I think my sister is the most important person to me and I want her to know that and I think she really deserves that. And I know she would be really suprised and really happy if I would do that (luckily she doesn't read allmost anything here). And seeing my sister so happy would make me really happy too. If she would buy me a doll I might even get angry that she had spent so much on my present and couldn't take it.

    16. I'm getting my friend a LUTS Minimi Zuzu Delf for her birthday. I missed her 18th since I moved out, and so it'll be her 18th and 19th birthday present combined (so yay, I get to spend more money on her!)

She really deserves to be spoilt!

    17. I have given three dolls as a gift. They were ones I had and just were not boding with and my three friends wanted dolls of there on and well they were very fond of these dolls and so I gave them each one to get started. They now have a herd of there own LOL but they have helped me out when I needed it and it make the hobby more enjoyable if you can help someone else do somthing they love

    18. I gave my sister her first doll as a 17th birthday present, just a Bobobie Weylin, so it was still affordable. She loved it and declared me the best sister in the world.

    19. I got my first doll as a birthday present, and my third doll as a Christmas present. I've also taken birthday money and put it in a doll fund, so that kinnda counts. :)

I think it's wonderful getting dolls as gifts, and giving them as gifts- my mom loves porcelain dolls (like Royal Doulton) and I got her a few for her birthday. We share the doll love. Dolls are awesome gifts (especially BJD!XD).

It's a great way to make someone happy and to share the passion for dolls.

    20. My little sister wants to have a BJD really badly, so I'm saving money so I could buy her one. :3
